  1. Lol, everyone is getting my hopes up, this would make up for the points I "lost" with Empress sailing cancellation.

Is there anyway I can confirm that it is indeed OS for $649/person prior to driving myself nuts thinking about it daily until Sunday night at 11:59 pm

Look at the fine print. It says that deluxe categories are starting at xxx. The os gs will be on sale but not at the js price. I have seen this multiple times and when checking on Monday the higher categories are discounted but not at the advertised js price.

  2. I made the reservations when we had the CLS. I am a planning nerd. I have not cancelled them yet, because I figured once the Royal Genie contacts us (which should be soon, right?) I would just have them use my calendar as a guide of how we are trying to plan our week, and then cancel the specialties.

How do you all quote more than one other post?

Anyway, Irishgal - I thought it had been confirmed (by Carol maybe?) that the new CK menus would be on all CK ships. Someone should ask A&L who's doing the very extensive live review from Allure right now (or maybe someone already has).

Thanks but I think it was just the Anthem. I hope I am wrong. I did ask a&l to check it out.

  3. Yes. Coastal has started a daily rotating menu. But will offer "classics" every night like on the MDR menus. I did it one night on Anthem. Personally I didn't love the menu that night but service was fantastic.

We've already planned out our nights. 3 in CK and 4 in Specialty.

Is that on Oasis and Allure as well? I know Anthem had changed but there hasn't been confirmation on the other two as of yet. I hope so!

  4. So as the story went last year in late March or early April another CC cruiser was on a ship docked next to Allure in the port of St Thomas if I remember correctly. He saw a cabin that had darkened out windows and no furniture on the balcony. He came to the RC boards and started a thread about a "fire in a cabin on Allure". There was much back and forth about was it, wasn't it etc... You know the typical thread form, "you're a cheer leader", "you're wrong" blah blah blah. That OP kept stating "I know what fire damage looks like etc". It was a thread that was a little heated ;) and if I remember was locked. I tried to search on it but it didn't come up for me.

The sleuths here on the RC page did some looking at deck plans and there was no cabin located where the "fire" cabin was. Deck plans showed the same foot print on the other side of the ship. So what is there? I went over the other night to check it out.

First off the deck plans for the mystery cabin.

Cabin location from the outside of the ship, to which it does look darker than the others. This is the best photo I found, but it is the same on both sides of the ship.

So what did I find on deck 6 at the mystery cabins location? It is the door to the right.

A little closer view of the label on the upper corner on the door. The cabins on each side of it are normal cabins, with furniture on the balconies and this specific one has darkened windows.

So if you have been wondering for close to a year how a fire could have happened on a ship but never been reported, that burning question has been answered. There was no fire.

So the moral of the story, if you are a smoker, book those cabins so when you smoke on the balcony, you can blame it on the smoke extractions room.:D

  5. We have eaten there before on previous . We haven't been there this sailing because we have our eight-year-old son with us. It just isn't his thing, and will be back on the ship without him in a few months and then we can do as we please then. A happy kid means happy people beside you. I think we've all seen parents who haven't learned that lesson yet.

They have a kids menu at Coastal Kitchen that is pretty good.

  6. ok thanks. does the 2X points apply to when you pay for a cruise? If I put a 2000 dollar final payment on the card paying for a cruise, they racking that as 4000 points? I believe so

Also, can you redem / pay for a cruise partial points/partial cash/pay? or like for your 1,900 cruise booking/152,000 points....you have to have those points available?

    You can pay partial point/$

  7. How did they let you know that the price would not be honored? And how long after booking? This sure takes the wind out of my sails. Went from skipping around on cloud 9 to fear and dread that they will take my 1st JS away.

I honestly thought this was normal, like they were giving a perk to CA members. Been reading for months about the great deals available when booking opens and felt fortunate to catch one. Oh well, maybe it was too good to be true.

About two to three weeks after I booked I get a curt telephone message from xxx in revenue saying say we cancelled your cruise due to incorrect pricing. I called back and asked for more information. They claimed that price had been zeroed out and the reservation could not be honored. I had transferred it to my ta and they couldn't fight for me since I didn't book with them. This time I booked with them off the bat.

  8. So how much of a lower price are we talking here? I am pretty sure Royal does not have to honor a price erroneously given as a result of a computer or human error and the more people that got such rooms, the less likely they would be to honor it (IMHO).

With taxes fee and diamond discount for 2 people

    RS for December 2nd sailing=5024.00

    GS for Jan 20th sailing=2209.00

RS now for a similiar sailing 7769.00

    GS 3369.00

  9. There was a comment in an earlier thread regarding the new 2017-2018 Adventure suite pricing below balcony prices.

The suites were taken out for inventory and are now back at much higher prices.

Now the question begs to be asked, will they honor the prices for those who have booked. In the past I have taken advantage of low prices, or computer glitches or whatever you call it and had the cruise cancelled. This was normally for 1 sail date and 1 category.

In this case every suite and sailing had erroneous pricing, so it wasn't a one time glitch for one sailing.

    What does everyone think.

  10. Yes it looks that way. A couple of people have reported calling and being told they were removed for inventory maintenance. I just looked at one in November where it is still showing $818 for a JS but when you follow thru on the pricing it comes out to around $1200.

Hope they let those that booked keep their bookings

Wouldn't you. Know I have two cruises booked. One in a Gs and one in. RS. Knowing my track record hoping they will let them stand. I did get email confirmation from them.
