  1. I do believe that under these changes people without internet will have a receiver box fitted to make your phone work as it does now .
  2. Good morning everyone ,an overcast 6.c here today . Great to have Graham @grapau27 back posting again with us mate .🙂 Glad your on the mend ,I remember my physio and I found it easy by following an article out of a news paper for the over 60's . I will dig it out and post it below for you to follow 🙂 Have a good day everyone !
  3. I thought they were describing the onboard shopping clothes dept ? 🙃
  4. Thanks that's why I checked as nothing went through yesterday even though set to do them auto .Think it does it just to annoy me as other times it does them .😉
  5. She's been fine since we re boarded the ship, thanks for asking says Mrs K. As Harry posted we get dumped with the upgrades next October and as this was an upgrade it warns me the system is not suitable for Win 11 but I did go out and buy a Samsung note book . That should help as I tend to run Chrome when using that one , so will see where I go from there . Sometimes the PC'S can be a pain ,only the other day we wanted to cast a program to our TV as we often do but the PC was reading "No devices found " Tried restarting the PC'S as Mrs K had the same issue with her PC. When we cast our phones to the TV ,not a problem worked perfect ,so we knew it was not the TV and chances of two PC's going daft was remote . Turns out it was Mr Norton 360 and some update causing issues when in "secure VPN" The workaround is turn off until the cast connects to the TV , only then can we turn it back on . Isn't computing wonderful ? 🤔😒
  6. Funnily enough after doing Avril's post I thought I would check for updates and have just downloaded November 14, 2023—KB5032189 ..also November 14, 2023-KB5032339 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 Using same as you but had to go and check for updates myself to get these two .
  7. If it aint broke don't try and mend it Avril . Over many years using various Microsoft new versions of windows ,I found they have a bad habit of releasing things half complete , needing endless patches to fix issues . Our works had high tech equipment and office systems that were running on windows 7 . I was told the NHS had done the same but upgraded where possible when they were hacked . It was only last year I dumped windows 8 due to them not doing updates anymore . If your happy with what you have stick with it Avril .
  8. My mate was bragging his new 3D printer can print a gun. I wasn’t that impressed really , I’ve had a Canon printer for years 🙃
  9. Good morning a bright sunny 8.c here this morning. Hope @grapau27 gets some news on his phone repair today . Take care and have a good day to all .
  10. What our neighbours got with the balcony smokers was no apology but his Mrs phone in hand filming herself hung over balcony with glass of wine in hand and saying in a loud slurred voice "Those mardy (to rude to repeat) have made us put our fags out " Which they would show their like minded family and friends no doubt at a later time . To be fair I suppose they were sorry ,sorry they got caught 😒
  11. Knowing our good friend Graham ,he will have flogged his Christmas orders to his clients weeks ago but if his phone's not working could be missing a last minute order .😮 I have my trusty laptop (win 10) and my Samsung phone and note book ,so one way or another I can have contact with the cyber world . Now I think it would be a good idea to nip down to his local Currys store and buy a cheap note book that would keep him online whilst waiting for his phone repair . Now knowing our good friends taste in top of the range goods ,I think he would go past the cheap note books and come out with a Big Mac 🙃 pc . Being a McDonalds fan 😉
  12. That's what I was implying, people turning up and seeing if they can get on a bit earlier using the I need help on the spur of the moment . This is nothing new ,we have seen it on airlines they need help getting on but when the plane lands they somehow are cured and are one of the first to leave their seats . The worst one was when we were waiting for a coach from our hotel and a guy was playing football with his two lads .Once at the airport his Mrs past him a telescopic white stick and sunglasses and off they went to the front wanting assistance . Not nice for the genuine folk . But as you say back to the issue, Mega wants no assistance just her walking stick I fail to see what the problem is ,she has said no help needed thankyou .
  13. A few years ago we used the Beach house and ordered a sizzling dish that we had not realised was a fair bit spicy for us . When asked "is your meal ok ? " We were told "There is nothing we can do as they are prepacked meals " a bit like the curry's you get from a supermarket . We asked "well could you get some yoghurt so we can add as this helps cool it " The answer was no as it's not on the menu . Two meals down the drain for us .
  14. From what I have read on here the e-mails were just blanket sent to everyone. I would say to stop people turning up at port wanting assistance but not giving P&O advance warning of their needs . We got one for our recent Ventura cruise. The one that amused me was the diet one they sent .. "Thank you for letting us know your diet needs we can adjust most meals to suit your needs, simply let your servers in MDR know ..." I ordered a meal in the MDR and asked for the gravy to be served separate , which was not a problem until I asked for a low salt version to be made up . The waiter replied "this could not happen as they make big pots up beforehand ! So a chef could not get a bit of cornflour a bit of meat stock ?? Not the first time we have come across this "cannot do " either .
  15. Hope you get sorted with the walking issue Michele must be worrying for you . Also glad to read all went as well as could be expected for @P&O SUE with dads funeral . Best wishes to both of you .
  16. Morning 9.c dark and dry from what I can see here . Regarding Asda Christmas adverts I think the elf ads are a hard act to follow for them . The one I saw last night called "Joy Ride" I took a shine to . Should have called it CC ladies outing 😉 Only joking girls . Plus it has one of my fave Beatles songs . Will post it below . Hope our friend @grapau27 gets his phone back soon ! Have a good day everyone
  17. Whats gets me how come as night falls or when I'm up at the crack of dawn ,I have never heard either 🙃
  18. Yep things can be taken the wrong way ,a bit like when I was at our local surgery, I got doctor Pepper in room 5 .. All I asked him what his favourite drink was 😒 What I posted was innocent comments by a good guy from a bygone era ,bless him . Or to put it another way a wise doctor once wrote ... 🤔🙃
  19. The whispering voice of Ted Lowe .. "and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green." Or the time the late great Fred Davies went for a long shot .. " Poor Fred he's having trouble on the table and due to his age cannot seem to get his leg over " Found it a bit hard to follow on the radio 🤣
  20. Just got back from the Ventura and if you ask for diabetic ice cream in the MDR they will get it for you. So I expect the rest of the fleet to follow suit . The desserts in the buffet were limited and bunged onto the diet section with vegan and others .
  21. So was watching the dancers from the Red Bar crossing the BOB Couldn't work out if they were line dancing at times .
  22. If you've still got one can @grapau27 Graham borrow it whilst his phone gets sorted 😉 Should you be reading this Graham I hope your phone is soon mended so we get your posts again .🙂 @twotravellersLondon you got me thinking back to when we were kids ,like making dens in a little hawthorn woodland we had near to our homes. Going down to the ponds catching sticklebacks or tadpoles in our jam jars , admiring the markings of the newts. All of this is gone now nothing to show our grand kids as the woods were turned into a ploughed field and the ponds drained too. Even the cow fields lay empty as does the pit pony fields ,such happy times sad to say are just memories now.
  23. Morning 8.c here this morning and calm at the moment . I hope all goes well today for @P&O SUE thoughts are with you . Seems weird going away in October avoiding Halloween and bonfire night, coming home switching on the tv only to be bombarded with Christmas tv adverts and not very good ones at that . Things like a Venus fly trap, that we all love and buy presents for it . In the words of Catharine Tate as Nan , what a load of old ... Was the script writer on some sort of medication ? Is it just me or is Christmas getting lost in the advertising world these days ? Take care and have a good day .🙂
  24. Cheers Harry, the rest of the cruise was doing what we do best , just the two of us watching the world go by , we have to adapt to our medical situations ,so a balcony is money well spent for us . The shows we didn't bother with , to avoid the coughing and barkers , plus most shows we have seen or they were the same old songs under a revamped show name . We had nice neighbours to talk to and other folk we met when we ventured out into the bars . Our go to places were mainly the Saffron in the mornings with a nice table for two set away from others near the waiters serving station ,which was nice and quiet apart from the last morning when a guy started yelling at a couple cos they were sat at what he claimed was his table for the last two weeks . The guy sat with his wife rightfully said " It was freedom dinning and he had been told to sit there " But he was having none of it, and went off on one and stormed off . As I said we spent hours on the balcony and was rewarded with a family of about ten dolphins playing in the ships wash below our balcony . The rest of the time we ate a lot in the Glass house at lunch time. We kept seeing people with their wives in wheel chairs wondering could they be Selbourne and his good lady ? Overall barring the medical blip we had a good cruise and a few nice meals that were to our taste. Do we still love our old Ventura ? Of course we do . After using up our OBC we had a bill for .85p barring medical costs so not bad for two weeks away . Will close with a few photo's , hope you enjoy . The Saffron pie which was ok Room Service beef in ale pie was far better than MDR A good old surf and turf Another fan of spending time on the balcony Ventura getting close up to Iona in Lisbon .
