  1. Yes, keeping in mind that it could have been a completely innocent mistake on the maintenance man's part, it should be reported to the guest services so they can correct/train the staff on their policies regarding room entry. If there was something else going on, then that needs to be corrected as well. Try to get some sleep and don't forget that deadbolt!! Please let us know what you decide and any outcome. It shouldn't have happened. Good night, ~Nancy
  2. @Bill B The chief posted that the passenger laundry uses the potable water. Other ship laundry is washed in the condensate water system. I could only guess why they use two different water sources. Maybe the ship laundry uses a much higher temperature to wash so doesn't need the chlorinated potable water??? @chengkp75 can you enlighten us please? I just love that @chengkp75 gives us so much technical information! I've certainly learned so much from him and he has dispelled many a cruise ship "myth"!! Thank you sir! ~Nancy
  3. What? Where did you see this? All the research I've been doing and haven't come across this. That's when I plan on spending a week in Moorea! February 2025 ~Nancy
  4. Many excursions to a motu include a snorkeling stop. (and to see rays and reef tip sharks) Does yours? I am interested in the taxi answers also, so I'll be watching to see the answer. ~Nancy
  5. Last time I debarked at PE and went to MIA I checked Uber and Lyft. Lyft was cheaper at that moment. People will probably come along and tell you about possible public transportation. For me with luggage it's well worth the extra cost to take Lyft/Uber than to drag suitcases. ~Nancy
  6. I am getting more and more interested in a similar cruise for early late 2025 or 2026! I've been enjoying following along with the current Zaandam cruisers who were in Antarctica a month or so ago. Have a wonderful trip and thank you for your posts! ~Nancy
  7. Thanks for getting us started following along with your cruise! Sounds good so far and it's nice you got the upgrade cabin. ~Nancy
  8. Here are some current prices. $11 and below is still safe for most standard drinks. Courtesy of Cruise Critic member @Crew News! I keep an eye on this stuff myself!! 😉 052721_pool_and_cabana_menu_art (1).pdf (rogerjett-photography.com) Pinnacle-Bar-Whiskey-Selection.pdf (rogerjett-photography.com) Roger Jett Photography - Digital Images in Time Roger Jett Photography (rogerjett-photography.com) Have a great cruise! ~Nancy
  9. Yes, you do! I am appalled at your Dutch apply pie mistake! Just awful! I want a refund!! ~Nancy 😉
  10. @canadianbear is it possible that the insurance laws in BC and Quebec themselves have changed to disallow this type of insurance? I see that New York state is/has been excluded also....because of their unique laws? ~Nancy
  11. Yep. HIA at $55 is about the same price as the beverage package alone. Why would I pay the same price for the beverage package and not get the included excursions, specialty dining and WiFi under the current plan. This is from my 14 day booking on the website right now. Signature Beverage Package = $53.04/day includes the 18% gratuity HIA = $55/day Have It All Cruise Package Details Shore Excursions, Drink Package, Specialty Dining, and Wi-Fi - for only $55 per person, per day.
  12. A couple of the hotels where I will be staying in Norway June 2024 have completely cashless policies. They state right on the website and reservation confirmations that they don't have any cash at all on site. I haven't heard this so far in the Netherlands though. (euro) ~Nancy
  13. For me, that cake should have gobs and gobs of whipped cream! 😁 ~Nancy
  14. Have a look at halfacts.com for lots of pictures! Here's some with the bathroom and veranda pictures of a Signature Suite. 6078 – Nieuw Amsterdam | HAL Cruiser Information (halfacts.com)
  15. The Signature Suites are way more comfortable for three adults including the dual sink bathroom with a separate jacuzzi tub with overhead shower and a stand alone shower as well. It has a much larger veranda! Of course, Neptune Suites have even more space with the same bathroom but an even larger veranda. Either of those choices would be so much more pleasant!! Welcome and have a great cruise. It would be nice to let us know what your final decision is! ~Nancy
  16. The people disembarking in the morning of December 12th will still do so. They will be off before the very low tide apparently. When the tide comes back up the embarking folks will board as described in the post above. What a hassle for everyone. Looks like the port of San Francisco needs to get a dredger out there ASAP!! Good luck everyone and have a great cruise to Mexico! ~Nancy
  17. Roger, I believe @Red Haired Lady was referring to the crème brûlée.
  18. Not necessarily true! Please don't post false information! Every time I have done a B2B in Port Everglades is was mandatory to get off (zero out) the ship! Some people haven't had to. You will get instructions for your cruise before the turn around day. ~Nancy
  19. Earlier flight will help. Glad to hear you will have insurance. Good luck! Have a great trip!
  20. Plastic glasses are/should be used around the pool areas in case of breakage. I have always gotten plastic glasses for bar drinks around the pools. However, I don't remember if I ever ordered champagne there. Beer, Diet Coke and Margaritas were in plastic. 😁 ~Nancy
  21. Sounds exciting! It's referred to as a "Side by Side" cruise where you go from one ship to another the same day. Totally doable! Depending on your mobility and which piers the ships are docked, a taxi may be needed, especially with luggage. Your call. No, both passengers do not have to purchase internet. Me? I would take a taxi or Uber/Lyft to the port, but I doubt a HAL transfer is even available that near to sail away. Don't know for sure. You will hear from me and many others that arriving the day of, so close to sail away is a HUGE risk. Are you willing to miss the cruise? Have trip insurance. Really, please come into town the day before! ~Nancy
  22. The ships all have Starlink now and reports are that internet is vastly improved! ~Nancy
