  1. Absolutely... to speak of cruising or port changes is just wrong in the face of this tragedy.
  2. The cruise would not be canceled, but calling on this port most likely will be.
  3. You aren't really near stairs or elevator... great location for popping up to deck 9 for drinks & snacks!
  4. Very, very sad about the loss in the town and that beautiful banyan tree... I'm sure many here have photos of it. 😪
  5. Just got the "2024 Collectors" in the mail and it went straight into the recycle bin. What an absolute waste of time and trees! Everything is viewable online... shame on O for their excessive mailings!
  6. Prayers for this beautiful port town... so very sad. 😪 https://apnews.com/article/hawaii-wildfire-maui-dora-winds-ec23c16abfbeb6ba689f1a98263720db
  7. We spent 35 nights in cabin 7126 and I passed by 7140 when using the stairs or elevators. It's a good location, but you may hear some louder voices in the lobby of the elevators. Here's a pic of #7126... it was next to suites and was very quiet!
  8. So, what's with these overbookings?! Let's say, theoretically, that a particular cabin is double-booked and neither party can change (and the ship is sold out). What happens then??
  9. Stemware matters!! 🥂🍷🍸🍺
  10. I would NOT want a spa verandah on that itinerary... way too much movement on decks 10 & 11!
  11. I have attempted this on several ships (due to cancelations, missed ports, weather issues, etc) with ZERO success. It's always a "no".
  12. Thank you for this lovely review. I will say that my biggest pet peeve, in my humble 35 cruises, is WASTED SPACE! OMG.... I simply hate wasted space. We do NOT need a suite, when a balcony will suffice. And since I'm the queen of organization, we are always comfortable... 35 nights most recently onboard the Koningsdam. Very comfortable, no wasted space.
  13. My DH and I will never sail without a full drink package... we consider it a part of vacation expense and fully enjoy that "all included" aspect. Mimosas with breakfast, chardonnay around the pool, cocktails on the balcony, a pre-dinner martini, nice wine with dinner, fine port afterwards, a drink at the show.... yes, it that is us on vacation!
  14. DH (US citizen) filled out online application on June 14, 2023, printed it, wrote check for expedited service, went to Walgreens for pics, proceeded to US post office in Eagle, Idaho, and paid for expedited mailing to Philadelphia, PA. Received new passport today, July 14, 2023... exactly four weeks. YMMV!
  15. I srsly do NOT want to rain on your excitement, but that balcony guarantee might backfire. For brand new cruisers, a lower, centered cabin is a better choice for possible seasickness. The guarantee could result in a higher, more forward/aft cabin with lots of movement. Just my two cents...
  16. One of the (many) reasons for traveling with children is to expose them to the REAL world and real world experiences. Life is not a video game. Travel can be fun, exciting, learning, and frightening... all at once. Travel grows character. While I can understand being frightened by loud bangs, I'm at a loss as to what took them to the worst case scenario of the ship sinking. That needs some serious discussion....
  17. What? Wait.... @AMHuntFerry We are BoyCee! Eagle to be exact!
  18. Well Cliff, I hate to tell you but..... Oceania DOES NOT CARE if you move on. Sorry. Cold, hard, fact. They are covering increased costs on EVERY LEVEL. As is every single cruise line, hotel, theme park, restaurant, grocery store, etc, etc. Bemoaning the increases will have no effect on the outcome. Either you CHOOSE to cruise or you don't.
  19. Why is everyone SO bent out of shape with the "inclusion" of beer and wine?? The cost to the cruise line for alcohol is MINIMAL! It's not the $12-$15 drinks that are "included"... it's pennies on the dollar for what they pay wholesale. FREE? No, nothing is free. It's "included". Get over it or move on.
  20. And yet another thread about SimplyMore!! 😲😅 #groundhogday
  21. @mauibabes.... ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️😅
  22. What the heck? This thread was about the changes to cancellation terms!
  23. Sorry, but if I had a butler tell ME to "call housekeeping", I would plaster on my biggest smile and say softly, "Thank you, I believe YOU can call housekeeping and have those blankets delivered shortly".
  24. Just so you are clear on this point, the 20% IS INCLUDED in the drink package. It is only ADDED to drinks purchased individually.
  25. Not required at all, but as with all places, there will be some still masking.
