  1. We always enjoyed our Promenade cabins; however, I always pick the cabin I want and would never do an upgrade without knowing where it was. Location, location, location is my motto! Sorry it didn't work out for you and look forward to your next cruise vacation! Cheers!
  2. Welcome to CC! In my opinion, the key is not worth the $$ for what you get but everybody is different. If it appeals to you do it, if not, don't. The only extra perks that I consider worth it are the perks one gets with booking a full suite. The brand new Icon (we're booked on her in November, 2025) has many very nice suite only areas, which we intend to fully enjoy next year. We usually book balcony rooms but decided to try the full suite experience next year and ours will cost $7500 for the Surfside Family Suite (sleeps 4). We will probably never even leave the suite areas if only just to tour the ship to see everything else. To each his/her own! Enjoy your cruise! Cheers!
  3. Hope you don't mind me asking an unrelated question but most of you are seasoned cruisers on Royal, so wanted your opinions. DH and I have our first full suite experience for my birthday in 2026 on the Oasis and, yesterday, he made the mistake of telling me that I could book full suites once a year (we had no suites booked for 2025). Sooooooooooo, this morning, I took a look at all of our reservations and noticed that the price of our infinite CP balcony on Icon in November, 2025 came down by a few hundred dollars. Get where I'm going with this? Long story short, I upgraded the infinite CP balcony to the Surfside family suite (quite a bit more though), so we can have access to all of the suite areas and perks! This will be my first surprise for him on this cruise! Yay! My question is: I have boarding day lunch booked for us at Hooked but now wonder if I should just cancel that and dine in CK on boarding day, if it's open on boarding day? Oh, and I also reserved the walk on "The Edge" for him (not me) as a surprise! TIA
  4. It sucks that you missed the luncheon though. Maybe you should let them know about it (if it really matters to you; I think I would though.)
  5. We usually do this too! Since we also get complimentary champagne, we make our own mimosas, and always order bottled water since we heard that the ship's water uses a saline solution (or something like that) to purify its water, which is part of the reason for leg/feet swelling. To each his own, though. Cheers!
  6. rcldining@rccl.com Not sure if they'll help since you're using a TA but you can try. Include your C&A number and booking numbers for your party. Your TA should have already linked your bookings together, so you should confirm that. Like posted above, send the email a couple of weeks before your cruise. Good luck and happy cruising!
  7. We've never been fans of the Bamboo Room, mostly because of location of the ones that have a wall that limits one's ability to see the Promenade and to people watch. However, I do feel the need to re-visit the Bamboo Room to sample a few of those tasty cocktails! Thanks for posting!
  8. Too bad. However, you might try removing the Royal app, then reloading it.
  9. Nope, not available for our February, 2025 Utopia cruise either. Anxiously waiting!
  10. You have to add silver sea. OK, here is what I did, step by step: Click your Royal app and see your page for your next cruise. Swipe left to see your loyalty status, not the bonus one. Click on the loyalty status square. Click on Loyalty Match to see your Royal and Celebrity matches. There should be the info right there below those 2 matches to add Silver Sea. If that still doesn't work for you, I guess you'll just have to visit the Loyalty Ambassador on your next cruise to get Silver Sea added. Hope that works for you! Happy cruising!
  11. Did you read post #449 with success or do you need further explanation?
  12. Which is exactly why we always opt to include a premium drink package on X, avoiding the hassle. The bartenders in the World Class bar (where we went every eve) seemed to pay a lot more attention to those with the Premium drink package; of course, we always tip extra, so that may have made a big difference. If we were allowed to use our 5 vouchers at any bar at any time of day or night, we may not opt for the drink package but, for now, we do! Cheers!
  13. Our next X isn't until April, 2026 (so far) for a B2B but it'll be on the not-even-out-yet XCEL! Don't know where it will be parked yet but just wanted to experience a brand new X ship! Happy cruising to all of us! Cheers! Update: It's scheduled to port from FLL.
  14. That's a shame. Sure wish they would keep the Crown Lounge where it is and ditch the purple monster!
  15. Sorry to hijack this thread but I also have a question about room keys. DH and I have a CLS (Oasis of the Seas) booked and our 2 adult kids and their spouses would like to join us. I want the 4 of them to have access to all of the suite amenities, so if I book the 4 of them into a GS, will we be able to get 2 extra keys to our CLS, so they will be able to sleep in and/or come/go into/out of our CLS? Hope I didn't word this too confusing. TIA!
  16. Just wondering if you'll be on one of the RC ships that allow swim diapers (hopefully). Happy cruising in Alaska (it's really beautiful in July)! Cheers!
  17. I was thinking about purchasing the UDP for our Utopia B2B next February but decided that the BOGO would be a better deal for each leg to experience most (if not all) of the specialty restaurants. For experienced cruisers, is this a correct assumption? I know there may be a possibility of some restaurants being unavailable, since we can only reserve the BOGO when we board the ship. TIA
  18. Yep, I know that (not so sure the OP does), but having fixed reservations makes it much easier to get seated quicker vs standing in a long no-reservations line, so it's a matter of choice for us. Thanks!
  19. DH and I wish they would put a Playmakers on every ship! Even though the food is not included, the prices are very reasonable. We usually enjoy the wings, stack of onion rings, and maybe one of their delicious sundaes for dessert! If you're a sports fan (we enjoy NFL), there are lots of TV's for your enjoyment! Cheers!
  20. I found your info here by pulling up a mock booking for your cruise: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/booking/landing?shipCode=WN&packageCode=WN07E383&sailDate=2024-07-07&startDate=2024-07-07&groupId=WN07PCN-1055410885&selectedCurrencyCode=USD Let me know if you can't open this and I will post times for you.
  21. If you're close to your sailing, you can view the menu for each day on the phone app. However, in most cases, formal nights are usually the first and last sea days. BTW, I noticed your screen name and would like to thank you for your community service! My DH is also a retired firefighter/first responder and volunteers as such in our community. He even saved my life back in January when I was transported to ER for blood clots in both lungs, as well as helping multiple people in need while cruising. We are so lucky to have people like you! May God bless you!
  22. I think it's an IT issue and hear that they are making some changes to the MTD times. I haven't been able to book our MTD for our upcoming NYE cruise either. I keep checking but will need to have patience. Cheers!
  23. There may possibly be a good sale around Memorial Day weekend. Of course, if you purchase specialty dining and it goes down in price, you can always cancel and repurchase. Happy cruising!
  24. I just reserved the Crown's Edge experience when we're on the Icon next year for a surprise! Booked it for Day 3 in case he chickens out! LOL! I actually think he'll really enjoy it (he's a firefighter). I'll be taking pics while firmly on the deck! Also reserved Hooked lunch on boarding day as a surprise as well. Yum!
