  1. Dang! Sorry to hear that! We will board Adventure twice next year and once the following year, same room each time. Sure hope we love that room, as well as the ship! It's been awhile since we've been on Adventure, so hoping the years have been kind to her or maybe she'll be refurbished before we board, or switched to a newer ship! In any event, we will be on a ship somewhere in the Caribbean, so that's not a bad thing! Cheers!
  2. Found this for transportation options: https://www.cruzely.com/how-to-get-from-the-houston-airport-to-the-galveston-cruise-port/ Definitely two rooms, either adjoining or across the hall with one inside room and one ocean view room, maybe with balcony. The kids' programs on the ship are great but register your child on the day you board to get preferred days and times. As others have said, if you can cruise a couple of weeks before Christmas, it may be a bit cheaper and the ship will still have beautiful decorations, which they usually start putting up the day after Thanksgiving.
  3. Yippee! Just booked it for the Odyssey next month, as well as the Mariner in October! Thank you so much!! Great deal!!
  4. Check-in just for the first leg of the B2B. If in the same cabin, you do nothing. Everything stays in that room. You will need to be escorted with the other people doing a B2B off of the ship, then turn around and get right back on. Very easy! If changing rooms, just pack the little things from the drawers into your suitcases and add a new luggage room tag on them. Leave your hanging clothes in the closet. All of your things will be moved to your new room for you! Great!
  5. We have been cruising for awhile now but have never seen lanyards offered at a terminal; however, we head to FLL next month, so will pay more attention!
  6. On our recent cruise, we noticed that a couple brought a small blow-up baby pool with them to the main pool, filled it with water from the shower, and placed it next to their lounge chairs under an umbrella. That toddler had a great time in her own little pool and mom and dad took turns getting in the main adult pool. I had never thought of that but it worked out perfectly for that family! Easy to pack the pool too!
  7. We couldn't understand it either and we were very surprised by his excitement. We didn't offer the photo to him; he just assumed it was a gift, so we let him take it. We don't believe the waiter was acting; he was genuinely overjoyed with the picture. BTW, I never said we didn't tip; we always tip over and above our prepaid gratuities. Tom also enjoys taking a big bag of mini chocolate bars to pass out to any staff that want some. This post was not intended to give the staff gifts vs money. Posts sometimes go sideways, so just trying to straighten it up! Cheers friends!
  8. We are flying from Indianapolis to Vancouver in September for our cruise on Celebrity Solstice to the Hawaiian islands, ending in Honolulu, staying there for 5 nights, and then flying from Honolulu to Chicago and on to Indianapolis. I had trouble booking it on-line myself, so called A2S for help. Got everything booked quickly and got our seat assignments. Flight costs were added to final payment. Not sure if flying First Class (first time for us!) had anything to do with it. Reservations are with Delta and American. Good luck!
  9. Hi to all you Diamond members and above! This is just a suggestion for what to do with all of those free photos that you may not want to bother getting anymore. First, let me tell you about our experience on a recent cruise. We were in the MDR for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining staff, so we asked if they would join us for a photo from the roving photographer. This was while the staff were still required to wear their masks. The waiters seemed delighted to join us for the photo and stood behind us for the picture. When we later went to view our photos, we saw that photo of us with the waiters, who had removed their masks for the photo, and I said, "Oh, that's what they look like!" We really liked that photo, so picked it as one of our free options. That evening, we took our photo to dinner with us. I handed the photo to our assistant waiter so they could both see it, when he exclaimed, "Oh, thank you! I can't wait to show this to my family, so they can see what I actually do while I'm on a ship!" He was scheduled to go home the following week. He showed the photo to the head waiter and left our table. Hubby said, "Is he going to bring the photo back?" I said, "I'm not sure but he may have thought that we were actually giving it to him." We thought this was quite amusing and were really touched that he wanted to proudly show that photo to his family when he went home. We decided to let him think that we indeed were giving him the photo. So, there you have it! If you no longer wish to claim your free photos, you may want to consider having some photos taken with your favorite staff members and offering the prints to them. I believe you will be surprised by their reactions! We certainly were and can't wait to do it again, again, and again! Cheers! Sal
  10. Didn't see the elevator when we were first on Odyssey but glad to know it's there if I need my scooter. However, my major complaint is no restrooms up there! In a sports bar no less!! Hoping they add it, as there looks to be plenty of room for it!
  11. Thanks for the laugh! That just reminded me of what Gpa said when he was in a nursing home. He'd get so mad and said, "I keep pushing this button and no one ever comes! What if I'm dying?!!" I said, "Gpa, they know you're not dying cause you keep pushing the button." LOL! He didn't like that answer. We sure do miss him though! RIP Gpa!
  12. Not sure about that but I really don't know. Maybe someone else does. If it were me, I would talk to the MDR manager and try to get a table for your party immediately after you get on the ship. Good luck and happy cruising!

  14. I would probably choose 1052, closest to the AFT elevators; just my preference; not under any pools.
  15. Tom and I will be celebrating my 70th birthday on Odyssey from FLL on February 11th! I believe there are still a few suites available that week, so come and join us, if you dare!😬😉🥂
  16. Found this: Is San Pellegrino high in sugar? How many calories are in a can of Sanpellegrino Italian Sparkling Drinks following the reformulation? There are, on average, 70 calories in each can of Sanpellegrino, approximately 60 calories less than in the previous recipes. Previously, our range of beverages contained an average of 9g of sugar per 100ml. However, Is it healthy to drink San Pellegrino? It's a healthy alternative to sugary sodas. If you opt for sparkling water without added sweeteners, for example, San Pellegrino or Perrier, you can rest assured that sparkling water is a zero-sugar and -calorie alternative to other carbonated beverages like soda.Sep 1, 2021 Cheers!
  17. Will share what my hubby did for me on the ship when I was feeling a bit "under the weather" from celebrating the previous day. My go-to when not feeling up to par has always been good ole fashioned chicken soup. While I was in our room, he went to eat lunch in the WJ. He got a large foam coffee cup, poured in some chicken type broth, gathered some noodles, a few veggies, and a chicken breast. He took it all back to his table and proceeded to cut everything up into small pieces, then poured it all into the cup, put a lid on it, grabbed a soup spoon and some crackers, and brought it to me in our room!! Mmmmm good comfort food! I think I'll keep him awhile longer! LOL!! I am a very lucky woman (don't tell him I said that)!! Cheers!!
  18. Well, s**t! Didn't know that but now I do! Thanks!
  19. Thanks for bringing this to a newbie's (not me though) attention. I once considered trying acupuncture but, after I did my research (guess you learned a lesson), decided that it wasn't for me. You may have saved someone from booking that first session! Happy cruising to you!
  20. Correct. I wish it would notify you when there's a message. I do like the fact that it is now a freebie (or should I say included with your cruise fare)!
  21. Yep, deck 8 shows green is for connecting Promenade cabins. I didn't think you could view the Promenade from deck 9, so, either it's a mistake (imagine that) or maybe there's a peephole somewhere!😲
  22. We've booked with large groups before and it was never a problem for us. The only thing we noticed was a "private party" in one of the lounges some evenings. Maybe others have experienced worse. As far as the ships, we prefer Allure vs Oasis, only because the Allure has not had the ugly purple slide added on to it yet.
  23. Yes, thanks, I read the section entitled transatlantic/transpacific cruises but it only mentions Australia and maybe NZ. We are only cruising to Hawaii, then flying home after 5 nights in Honolulu, and it doesn't mention Hawaii from Vancouver, so I'm guessing there will be no requirements. Will definitely keep checking though before flying to Vancouver!
  24. Yes, we will leave the ship in Honolulu, stay 5 nights there, and then fly back to Indiana (1st time for me to fly first class and I am sooooo excited)!! Celebrating 40th anniversary cruise!!
