  1. Hope they don't overbook them! Our group of 10 was on Wonder this week and had 2 casitas booked over a year ago. When they moved cruisers from the Harmony (I think) to the Wonder, they let them have the booked casitas and took ours away, notifying us the night before we were supposed to have them! RCI said it was a new IT system problem and they went by the date of the reservation, which is hard for us to believe since we booked them so far in advance. In any event, we should have been notified when we first boarded the ship at the latest, not the evening before we were to get them! Yes, we'll get a refund but this was pretty poorly handled. Even after that disappointment, a great time on board was had by all and would definitely cruise on the Wonder again!! Cheers!!
  2. LOL! We hated to see the beer and wine package go away.😪
  3. Not sure but it's probably a chance. They may confiscate it if it contains any alcohol. You can always try but be prepared to lose it.
  4. I've been hoping that the snowbird migration cruise from Canada sailing down the Atlantic coast all of the way to Florida that RCCL had done just before the pandemic would reappear in the itineraries. Anybody have any insight as to whether or not this might happen? I'm gettin' older pretty fast and really want to do this one! TIA!
  5. Correct. I always pick my own room; not that much more most times in my opinion and sometimes even less.
  6. Sorry to disagree with you on that. My hubby cannot be around smoke due to a medical issue and, if the smoker was smoking on a nearby balcony, we would definitely need to report it. Smokers need to adhere to the space(s) provided for them; I believe that it's rude for them to impact others health and well-being. Oh, and, yes, it should be addressed while on board, not after the fact.
  7. I usually link our group's individual reservations on-line myself. You can also call your travel agent to link reservations for you; if no TA, you can call an RCI agent as well. We always head to the MDR first thing when we board the ship to confirm our dining reservations are together. Cheers!
  8. I just go on-line and do a mock booking to see how many rooms are left. Not sure that you can confirm that a ship is sold out, since some rooms may be held by travel agents.
  9. Thanks for your video, which was good. If you don't mind me suggesting: for your next video, you may want to place the camera to capture what you are seeing in front of you vs behind you.
  10. I sent the email out way too early, I guess. I, too, received the "wait until you're on board" response. I will re-send my email next week for our December 11th cruise on Wonder! Thanks for the info! Cheers!
  11. Not sure how to answer your question but this is what the UDP on the web site says: What's Included Unlimited visits to specialty dining restaurants every night of your sailing and lunch on sea days. For restaurants with a la carte pricing, you’ll receive a $20 food credit, which can only be used once a day. For ships with this venue, Izumi Sushi is a prix fixe menu or $34.99 food credit. For ships with these venues, Teppanyaki/Izumi Hibachi is included, with a $15 surcharge, and Chef's Table is included, with a $49.99 surcharge. These will be charged once onboard. Important details and advisements Not valid for premium experiences including: Wine Pairings Dinners, Taste of Royal, Mystery Dinner Theater, Culinary Activities, and Holiday Celebration Dinners. Beverages are not included. Child pricing applies to children between the ages of 6-12. Children ages 0-5 are complimentary. Children must order from the kids menu. A courtesy reservation will be made for Day 1 or 2 of your sailing. All additional reservations or changes to your courtesy reservation must be made once onboard at any specialty restaurant. After reading this, I would assume it is 1x per day per person for ala carte venues; however, this may not be the correct assumption. Sorry!
  12. Yep, us too and agree that Odyssey is a great ship overall. If enough people complain about the no restrooms, maybe they'll add it later, since there is plenty of space to do that! Our adult kids were supposed to cruise with us on Odyssey in February for my birthday but they backed out during Covid, so now it's just hubby and I. We had only booked Odyssey because that's the ship they both chose. Took the money from their 2 cabins and upgraded us to a JS, and bought the Deluxe drinks and 3 nights dining packages, as well as reserved a casita for a sea day! We'll be celebrating in style and spending our kids' inheritance! Haha! Cheers!!
  13. We didn't like the zig-zag of the Esplanade (Promenade) cause you weren't able to see from one end to the other, and people watching was limited. We enjoyed Playmakers sports bar on the Mariner, as it was in the middle of the Promenade, amidst all of the action; however, on Odyssey it's located above the sea plex. The space is great but be aware that there are no bathrooms on that deck!! A sports bar with no restrooms on the same floor, what?!! Definitely a design flaw! I have trouble doing stairs and the elevator (which I never found) was supposed to be located at the far end, so you still have quite a walk to the nearest restroom. We did really enjoy all of the shows though, so book them pre-cruise if you can! Cheers!
  14. I do remember paying a buck something above the Diamond drink price for the Bamboo Room's "special" cocktail; however, I was not impressed. One and done for me. Maybe it was the closed off atmosphere of that space on the Mariner, as it seemed more intimate, maybe for a group of people to socialize. The 2 of us kind of felt "cut off" from the rest of the ship. I did enjoy seeing the moving and talking pictures of the parrots hanging on the wall around the room! They look like regular pictures, when all of a sudden the parrot comes to life and starts talking, which will startle you if you're not ready for it! LOL! That was a great touch for the room!
  15. Didn't have it last month on Mariner. Will check for it next month on Wonder.
  16. If the drinks are more than $14, you will only need to pay the difference, not the total. Cheers!
  17. Whew! Guess I'm not the only one who can't sleep while hubby drives. I've never been able to sleep on a plane either. We'll be flying back to Chicago-Indiana from Honolulu next fall and booked a first class seat (first time for 1st class) and, since the seats fully recline, I hope to get some sleep for the overnight flight. Can't forget the neck pillows!😬
  18. We made entertainment reservations for our group of 10 but the comedian was already sold out! Just did this last week, as I had no idea it had opened up! Guess we'll have to pick a night and wait to see if there are no-shows! Cruise begins December 11th.
  19. You may want to call your friend back and tell her to go ahead with her cruise. I would, but your call.
  20. Hmmm, we noticed a couple of new items on Wonder's menu for our cruise next month and there was no lobster, at first. Then, the menu went away for a few hours. When the menu resurfaced, lobster was reinstated. Guess there are some changes being made as we speak .... or post!😉
  21. We're cruising with a group of 10 next month and have My Time Dining for 6:45pm. I intend to confirm that once we get on board. Hoping there won't be any unsolvable issues for us. Also, if you don't mind, would appreciate it if you could tell us where the around the pool casitas are located and if there are some around the pool on the same deck or are they all located on the deck above the pool? Thanks for your help and hope you enjoy the rest of your cruise! Cheers!
  22. Boarding the Wonder for 7 nights next month. Looked at the menu and no lobster to be found. OMG! What to do?! Answer: We're still going and I'm sure the food will be fabulous, even without the lobster! There were some new things on the menu that we've not seen before, as well!
  23. Sorry, I can't remember. Too many cruises ago and I've slept since then.😆
  24. It's been a few years ago and I can't remember which ship it was. I was able to open my door and found another door to the other cabin. Ships have obviously changed this to one door; hopefully, with a lock on each side. Sorry for any confusion.
