  1. For packing toiletries I recommend  the e-bag Classic Pack it Flat Toiletry Kit (Amazon) the be the best  packing cube for toiletries .  Able to pack toothbrush items,  hair brushes , makeup, all toiletries and it fit in bottom of suitcase taking up no room. When unpacking just hang .

  2. Except for 1 or 2 times I always booked my own cruises for many years.  I should have learned my lesson a few years ago when my BIL used a TA for our family cruise.  We were in a Sky suite on Solstice.  The day AFTER final booking, the price on my SS dropped $800 PP.  I was so angry.  My TA worked round and round with Celebrity and got us upgraded to a Celebrity Suite.   Recently I went back to using an online TA. mainly to  get  lots of OBC with each booking, some more than others.

  3. Very first time in Luminae, I did not even know they had a Classic Menu.  I was having difficulty with ordering what I want.  On the third night, while looking over the menu, I noticed they were serving Onion Soup   I asked and they told me about the Classic Menu.  I ordered Onion Soup every night plus whatever I thought I would like.  I learned to ask i. and was usually able to be accommodated .

We are doing a theme cruise next week. We were on a waiting list for two years and last year, when a concierge class room came available we grabbed it up.  Of course it didn't sail last year and now it's going next week.  Since we booked it so long ago, I hadn't really given much thought to concierge class vs. "regular" class.  I understand that the suites get more amenities. But what does concierge class really get us? I see there is a lunch included on embarkation day, unfortunately I did not realize this when I picked our embarkation time, and we won't be getting on in time. I looked on the Celebrity website, and all it says is "Indoor and outdoor space come together to create your private sanctuary at sea. Relax on your spacious veranda and enjoy amenities that all contribute to your luxury experience. As a Concierge Class guest, your team of dedicated professionals will take care of all your vacation needs."   But what really is the advantage of concierge class?

Not much except the luncheon, and a welcome Champagne . Your cabin is basically a  balcony ,maybe a touch bigger and location is probably better.  I stayed Concierge  (only because no extra $$) ,for last minute Christmas cruise on Miilliinium . Maybe I missed it but  did not note anything extra while onboard. . But you will be on the" high seas," Enjoy your cruise.

  5. There are 2 main areas to check in.  On the right is for most people.  There are no special lines for Elite or Conciege at this time.  On the left is the Suite Entrance. Therefore necessary to check in within your time slot so won't have a long wait.

  6. I had a hugh issue with Next Cruise.  I booked a cruise onboard and.told them I was giving to my TA when I got home.  They asked her info.  Great.gave it.   Got home and next day  spoke to my TA to transfer the booking #, and she said can't get into my booking.  She called Celebrity and they said it was booked with another TA and nothing they can do.  Now, I have no idea who that other TA was and was not accepting that.  the three of us went back and forth with me getting pretty angry.  Finally they said ok they will change the TA listed to my current TA.  Took over 2 hours to correct a mistake the Next Cruise person typed in. My suggestion is switch to your TA without involving the onboard staff.

  7. Love Luminae.  One night wanted spaghetti, had a craving for regular spaghetti in a meat sauce.  Wasn't on menu , but they got it for me.

Also, for first  morning  breakfast., asked for a cheese danish which they didn't have.or serve.   Head Baker actually came out and told me he would  made cheese Danish for me for  the rest of the cruise. Which he did. They do everything they can to make the passengers happy.

  8. I was able to speak to a real person very quickly at 1-844-418-6824.  They were able to answer 2 of my questions but unfortunately they had to transfer me to one of the main #'s to answer my last question.  Wishing you good luck.

  9. I was boarding the Celebrity Solstice in Seattle, a few years ago,  staying near Pike Place.  Bought the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and decided to take onboard for our trip. Was initially hesitant but on the way to our suite, the Captain happened to walk by and commented how beautiful the flowers were.  They lasted almost a week and looked beautiful on our cocktail table. .

I have been on 3 cruises as a solo this year (2 Princess and 1 NCL) and am getting ready for a 25 day solo in April. I always go to the first sea night Solo Cruisers gathering, and frequently a core group evolves to dine together most nights. It’s a great way to build up a small group of folks you recognize around the shipmand sometimes expands to sharing other meals, excursions, etc. I’ve met some very nice and interesting people this way.

Didn't know that there was solo gatherings. Is this on all ships?  Im going Celebrity, will have a look at the newsletter , hopefully find it.  Thanks.for the information.

After waiting over 2 hours on hold to simply upgrade to premium package a few days ago don’t even know I could get through😀

Waited 4.5 hours today because I booked an excursion that ate  my CC, but wouldn't give me my excursion.  Very frustrating. Celebrity had to have someone from IT  work on it and get back to me.

We always tip on top of the auto gratuities, if appropriate which is usually the case.     In Luminae, it is my understanding they  pool their tips and we leave the tip for all staff and the same in Blu.    We do like to frequent the Martini bar and usually give a tip, however this has been  treated differently.  On most occasions, it ends up in the bucket and the bell is rung, but on some occasions we have noted it ends up in the pocket of the bar tender to whom we have handed it, albeit addressed to all staff!   We also give to specific staff, but always address the recipient on the envelope - e.g. our stateroom attendant, retreat host (if we have one), waiter, sommelier and assistant if we are on select dining.

In Luminae, I was seated and served by the same 3 waiters and hostess each time I went to eat.   The last night, although I didn't eat there, I went after dinner and asked the hostess to have my servers come up and individually gave each of them(and hostess)  a generous tip in a thank you envelope.  I even tipped the head waiter as he had a special breakfast danish made at my request. They were all very appreciative  and I'm hopeful did not have to pool the tips.

But, unfortunate for those passengers who do not drink!😱

LOL, not so bad,  I can not drink,, but I keep a nice list of the many drinks I am served without the alcohol . The bartenders will even invent one  for you if you want a "surprise". Have not been disappointed yet.

  14. So glad to see that Celebrity has listened to the many people including cruise critic complaining about messaging the All Included vs Simply Sail.  I was one of them that stated how confusing it was for the general public to see one thing and accidentally book another. .  Glad to see they listened and again we have Truth In Advertising,

  15. You have to understand on this topic, there are many people who have never sailed or used the online Celebrity website.   As a novice, To try to book , one would assume that you are booking an "Always Included" trip, per their advertising)  and to get the best deal possible.  So, there is where the trouble begins.  First they check off Residency, and get the price for a guarentee room.   Liking the price, they proceed to check out.  Not realizing they are not getting the full benefits. Sometimes they don't realize til told onboard they don't have the All Included and are confused.and angry..  I think what Celebrity is doing now is wrong.  You have to be a wiz  to understand and navigate the site..Either have the AL or don't have the AL (I prefer it) and allow passengers to proceed accordingly.
