  1. Hello everyone.  I live in the Miami Area and have sailed out of the Miami/Ft Lauderdale ports for over 20 years.  This year I decided I want to travel  and sail the northern part of the US. I will arrive at Newark Airport and  I am booked on Anthem of the Seas in 2022 out of Port Liberty .. Planning on flying in at least one or two days before sailing.   I do need recommendations of good  Hotels that are not that far from the port (perhaps with shuttle to port,) with shopping and, sites to visit ..

Or if you enter a resident state.  They are offering resident discounts that do not come with the AI either!

After I had booked the Retreat with all the perks, I went online and did a mock booking which was now showing a Florida residency perk and the total   came out less. then I was paying.  I called Celebrity and they pretty much told me  to choose one or the other. not both.  , the residency discount pretty much equaled the cost of the All Inclusive promo.  I went with the promo.

  4. Enjoying your review.  Looking back at your airport mishap, happened to me . Ended up that I had worn clothes that had recently been at the cleaners, which caused the "fertilizer" scan.  I went thru everything you did, and more.  Glad you made the flight. and are enjoying  Miami, before your cruise. I know the area well.   .  Looking forward to the rest of the story.

  5. Hi everyone, I was on the 9/25 Edge and decided to do an onboard booking.  This week I was looking online to mock my booking and saw that the suite I booked was almost $500 less, (same discounts and extras ), plus now looking at my own Booking,  I never received my $250 obc for actually booking onboard.   Called Celebrity this am ( only waited around 10 minutes.)  Explained it all to a very nice operator, she looked it up and  about 10 minutes later,,  received it all., discount on price and my extra $250obc  Has this happened to others?. Thank you Celebrity.

  6. My 9/25 Edge sailing had 875 people.  Was told most if not all suites were sold including mine.  Never saw a line anywhere the except last night at Luminae .Retreat was fairly empty.  Went to the main pool area instead  and got to watch  crew vs passengers  pool vollyball.  That was fun.    Service impeccable, passengers friendly, Loved so much, booked another cruise early 2022.

BinaxNow test kits on their website states not for travel, will celebrity accept this test?

Your test package must state it is RX (proctored) to be accepted by Celebrity.  $69.95 for 2tests Received mine  from Celebrity website. Arrived very quickly go online to  www Emed.com  . abbott-binaxNOW

  8. I was in a Sky Suite last month.  I was told by my" Personal Retreat Host" (they don't like being called Butler)  that my mini fridge will be stocked with whatever I drink as the room came with premium drink package. .  I only requested certain sodas  and large bottles of  Evian Water as I do not drink.  I would have been given any bottles of any liquor on board, if requested.. I did order a cappuccino the first day, and one was brought to my cabin every morning without asking.

I am told you can ask your cabin attendant to empty out the fridge, if you don't want to purchase anything in it.  To make sure no charges are made to your account.

  9. Booked a Celebrity cruise while onboard  the Edge in September.  While checking prices, online recently,, I noticed the Florida Residence discount on m ynew cruise,, so I called and spoke to Celebrity.  At first, I was given the additional discount, then apparently the computer wouldn't cooperate with the Always Included perks.  I was told choose  one or the other.  Price wise about the same in $$ value.  I ended up staying with the Always Included plan.

Thanks. But what happens if you win and cash out without using all your obc credits? Also, Do the machines use up your initial obc credits first leaving winnings intact?

.I usually pull out the original OBC from the machine.

, then put whatever $$ I want to play.,into the slot machine.    The last evening, I still had $174 in OBC.  Took out 100 and before retiring, took out 70. Used most of that fo cashr tips.   I left the $4.00 of OBC 🤪

    Hmm... wonder why the difference?

Will see if we score one in a RS in a couple of weeks, but guess I'll pack ours just in case.

Ask your Butler to get them for you.

  12. Was on the Edge 2 weeks ago.  Stayed in Sky Suite.  Received a large nicely made  Nate Berkus  tote bag upon arrival.  (They do not have a zipper or pocket) and I standard grey smaller tote.

  13. Was on the 9/25 cruise, walk offs were first,@ about 7:30,  before passenger disembark.  You can contact an Uber just before  getting off ,or taxis are right there.and usually no problem for the first off passengers.  Customs was also a breeze ,being one of the first.   The airport is 3 miles away, should take about 10-15 minutes  so you should get there by 8 to 8:30 at the latest.  I would plan a flight earliest  around 10:30 - 11:00 AM.

  14. My Celebrity  insurance quote on my February ,2022 was almost twice the cost  compared to my Sept 2021 cruise.. If you really want the insurance so close to your sail date, Do some research online.   I cancelled Celebrity"s policy (2022)  and purchased an annual  policy very inexpensive compared to Celebrity. ..Saved a ton of $$ as I have a few trips planned.  You can add whatever your major  needs are to the policy including Cancellation,   Now I'm covered for any trips out of the country for the next year.

But when was this?  And what will happen when passenger load increases considerably but possibly taxi and Uber staffing does not?  Or when there are fewer TSA and Customs agents now that full vaccination is required?  I don't doubt it worked for you.  But things are changing rapidly and what worked getting off a lower capacity cruise in the past (even recent past) may not work for a cruise 2 or 3 or more months from now when presumably (hopefully!!) many more people are cruising.

It's also a bit frustrating to me when people who are driving home decide to do walk-off first thing and slow down those who are hurrying to meet early flights.    It would be nice if locals would show a little consideration and let those trying to catch early flights disembark first.  Maybe in your case it didn't really matter and I don't know your situation so this is not directed at you personally.  Just expressing frustration at what I've seen in the past when people trying to catch early flights were waiting in huge lines trying to disembark.  It's hard enough to catch early flights - I'd like to put out a heartfelt plea to people not needing to disembark right away to please, please wait a little bit.

I understand your frustration but, First of all ,i got off the Edge last week.  Second,ly I did not do walk off, nor did I ask for walk off,  I was in a suite and was given a low disembark number and suite guests were not allowed to disembark until walk offs were off the ship.  Also now that  Celebrity does not make you fill out any declarations (unless over $10,000) to get off the ship.  You pick up your luggage and get in line to show your passport.  It makes it much easier and much faster to get out of the terminal.  As far as transportation,, I've been told cabs and uber are very accessible., the airport is very close,  I showed 40 minutes transportation , even though Ft Lauderdale Airport is only 3 miles away from Port Everglades.. Even if ship is full, if OP does a walk off, they will have no issue getting to the airport early..

Our airline just changed our nonstop flight in February leaving FLL from the afternoon to 10:20 am.   We have TSA Pre and was wondering if we did a self-disembarkment from Apex, is this a flight that we could make?  Our itinerary indicates that the Apex arrives at 7 am.  Thank you for your help.

I can help with some timing.  I was on the Edge, and had driven to port., and as one of first passengers off the ship., customs was a breeze, checked passport and .walked right out . down  to a Shuttle  to a Park and Go to get my car, ,then drove to South  Miami.(40 minute dr)   I was not in any hurry and was home at 9:05 AM..  If you order an Uber, they are parked outside the port and only take around 10 minutes to get to the area to be picked up .Cabs are already waiting . You should have no issues  to get to the airport. on time, it is a very short distance.  Safe Travels.

    NCL is maskless.
    On Celebrity kids also sail.
We sailed on Edge and recently on Oasis. Both had about the same percentage of kids. I think venues for vaccinated isn’t a problem, but masks could be.

Again, for us it’s inconvenience, but we will sail, but many people won’t

The children (there were 7) wore masks the whole trip.  I actually did not see any, but was told by the staff.

  18. I was just on the Edge and asked that very same question with Future Cruises. Apparently as of last week, my celebrity agent went thru all the small  print and came up with, "It really doesn't say what the split is.  My cruise I just finished  was all OBC.  I did do a future with more OBC but don't know if I also have excursion credit too.  I know not a great answer, but I don't think even Celebrity knows the answer ,

  19. I made an error when doing my online booking and had to call Celebrity.  It was 10:10 PM.  Even that late, I still had to wait 15-20 minutes for someone to answers. Fortunately, I was able to correct the problem and get the reservation I wanted. If you need to call Celebrity, call either early am or late pm.
