  1. None that I have ever noticed. Cat H on Mariner is what sold me on Radisson (Regent) 20 years ago.
  2. I like the Regent umbrellas; they double as walking sticks. In addition, you can use them to form your own precision drill team; I have found they spin really well and you can toss them to each other in the same manner as rifles.
  3. Kathy, we were sitting in Signatures when they announced that we would be a day late arriving and a loud cheer arose; except from you as you had arranged a post-cruise tour for a group. Pod didn't actually fail it was damaged by ice and seas were so bad that using just one pod lowered our speed to a crawl.
  4. La Verandah or pool grill; prime rib is always the carving. Marc
  5. Just read an article that two cruise lines (including Celestyal) are adding fuel surcharges of up to $8 per person per day up to date of embarkation. Anyone heard anything from Regent? I read settlement Scott posted but I wonder if that really keeps cruise lines from actually adding the charges. Here is the article; may be behind firewall: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-05-26/staffing-shortages-limit-carnival-norwegian-cruise-trips?cmpid=BBD052822_WKND&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&utm_term=220528&utm_campaign=weekendreading
  6. What do you do with Mariner in Miami on 25 June? Too late for transatlantic to Europe. Wrong time of year for South America. Regent doesn't do Caribbean in summer. I guess it could go to Canada then Bermuda. Or, maybe as my wife posited, the Mariner goes out of service for Regent.
  7. After the 2025 World Cruise Mariner will continue back to Miami arriving 25 June; therefore, Mariner, the ship best designed for Alaska, will not be doing Alaska in 2025.
  8. Terrible itinerary. Basically Grand Asia Pacific that doesn't even go to South Island of New Zealand. Claim five continents but I bet they don't make a landing on Antarctica. Not interested.
  9. jjjbr, thanks for your report. Your recounting of your (and friends) stories provides a little hiccup in my Plan B if we test positive in NYC. I was under impression that you just need to quarantine for five days and have a negative test. Therefore, my plan B was to drive/fly/ferry to Halifax and meet the ship six days after positive test; test negative; and get on the ship. Since testing is not required to get into Canada it wouldn't matter that we tested positive in NYC. Now, that ten day quarantine causes a bit of a wrinkle as if we tested positive in Halifax we couldn't make it to Reykjavik in time to join the ship. Time for a new Plan B. Again, thanks for your report. Marc
  10. Can anyone report on whether we need to include Regent luggage tag on bags being shipped to ship? Luggage Forward said to remove all other tags but theirs; however, don't know if that is meant to preclude Regent tag. thanks, Marc
  11. Any update on those that tested positive or cabin mates or close contacts? Are they confined to quarantine cabins on deck 5 (no balconies) or were they allowed to stay in their cabins? thanks, Marc
  12. Miami monitors CC and will cut and paste reports to ships; your dessert "fix" may be result of your posts here. One time I gave strong kudos to a staff member on CC and next day GM thanked me for my feedback and later that day so did the employee.
  13. Trying to fill out form; will not accept state whatever I type in. It appears to be a pull down menu with no choices. What is the workaround? I would like to complete checkin so I can choose arrival time but so far I can't get past payment screen. Any help appreciated. Marc PS On a Mac, when I try to take photo replies "cannot access camera," anyone had this problem too?
  14. It has been quite a while since Regent had a fuel surcharge and I can't find specifics in Ticket Contract; does anyone remember, or know where it is documented, the latest date that Regent can add a fuel surcharge? Is it up to embarkation date? thanks, Marc
