  1. The first three Grandeur sailings seem to have plenty of openings; I wonder if we (booked on the first two cruises) are the fools for thinking ship will be ready on time.
  2. The ability to order from Compass Rose menu has been fleet wide for at least last twenty years. You can also ask for it to be delivered course by course (though we do not take advantage of this).
  3. I wish they would cut their ESG and DEI programs; what a waste of money.
  4. mj, we are on same cruise; still waiting for button to email all excursions to show up. Don't really care about past excursions as that just gets us upset when one we think we would really like is not offered on our sailing so we wait for the real list. Marc
  5. When working in Japan and colleagues would come from USA with three prong laptop cords; we would just rip off the ground post; not really needed in USA either.
  6. Coffee Connection opens at 0630. On Navigator coincident with Navigator bar so operating through midnight. Food 0630-1100 for breakfast items; 1100-1800 for afternoon items, and 1800-2000 for hot canapés; cookies always available.
  7. Sandy, doesn't it depend on reward nights with Regent as long as you submit request prior to 22 March? TA's can't submit requests prior to 13 March so no difference, regardless, prior to that date.
  8. Pcardad: In the past it has been 15% deposit upfront; so the 10% is a savings. Definitely a change with second payment (which I imagine most people made anyway) and now penalty starting at 210 days in advance. One question - In past if you used FCD your deposit was only half of normal (i.e., 7.5%), is that still true with the 10% deposit? thanks, Marc
  9. I've searched and searched and cannot find that online brochure either through a link in the email or perusing the website; can you post a link to the brochure? thanks, Marc
  10. Received notice and video on 2026 World Cruise today. Now, I am just waiting for itinerary and pricing. I assume that all those on 2023 WC will have priority for bookings so I don't know what pickings will be left over. Anyone have advanced access to itinerary and maybe pricing? thanks, Marc
  11. pingpong, did you subtract air from your per diem costs? That is only way to get apples to apples.
  12. And that can't all be from back office or marketing; that has to include impacts on food and service onboard Regent ships (in addition to NCL and Oceania).
  13. There have already been cutbacks on food due to cost; e.g., king crab legs and crab cakes in P7. Hopefully, not too much more. As for ports, I think they want to design itineraries that travel at a reasonable speed entire time between ports; i.e., have ports 160-200nm apart and travel at 16kts instead of 80 and 240 and have to travel at 10 or 20kts. I did get a bit scared listening to FdR's answer to an analysts question regarding cost cutting; hopefully won't impact Regent too much but we need to "cost-cut-shame" Regent for any actual cost cutting that impacts the customer experience (they can cut out the 40-50 brochures I get per year).
  14. . . . and the stock keeps falling; now down 12%. Rosy numbers but disastrous commentary caused stock to keep falling during Q&A session. Especially concerning were statements that demand wouldn't be hurt by continuous cost cutting - time will tell. At least they have warned us in advance that time in ports will be shortened in order to be more fuel efficient at sea. At least no mention of delays in Grandeur inaugural so I am happy. Marc
  15. We were on Splendor 20 nights over Christmas 2021 New Years 2022; never got off the ship. We were on Splendor 23 nights Christmas 2022 New Years 2023 never got off the ship. I hate included excursions but we still have 229 nights booked.
  16. I'm sorry Dublin, not Belfast. In Belfast I did a walking pub crawl which was great. Wife did gardens all across Ireland whilst I drank my way.
  17. Kirkwall I would book a private tour of Highland Park Distillery. In Belfast I would go to the Guinness Experience tour; fantastic. Edinburgh if you are there in August definitely go to Tattoo. Otherwise, Edinburgh Castle and also Royal Mile and Holyrood House and Britannia. In Waterford take the choice excursion to the Waterford Factory. I am not a fan of the "small group" as it usually means "small bus."
  18. Definitely not worth it on Voyager unless you feel the need for a butler. I did take upgrade offer once but that was from H to B on 25 day cruise. The chances of a "free" upgrade are almost nil; totally dependent on your TA's ability to convince Regent.
  19. All you have to do is ask. When being seated next time in Compass Rose waiter will be given slip of paper with your preferences not to have napkin placed on your lap nor opening your menu. If you prefer to have menus provided to your cabin in advance and no menu be given to you that can be arranged too.
  20. We sailed on her in 2003 when her European season was cancelled and she stayed in the Caribbean. To entice bookings it was all inclusive. We had only 144 guests and had a Beatles tribute band and Beatles lecturer; it was a fantastic cruise. Giuseppe was great CD and Don Vito's was a fun dinner experience. The band played in the lower section of the theater with all sorts of screaming women whilst the more sane amongst us stayed in the upper portion. It was a great ship.
  21. Below is staff/officer cabins; no issues with sound at all. You will hear the anchor drop and also the lines being drawn when you go into port but nothing bad.
  22. I spent 94 days on Navigator last summer; loved every minute. I strongly recommend a cabin on Deck 6, either window or balcony. The only negative I found with the ship is lack of public area restrooms; especially on Deck 10 where they were removed in order to build Prime 7. It is a little nuisance that you learn to live with.
