Today I went for a skin cancer checkup. They did one biopsy on a piece by my forehead but they are concerned with a some spots starting to develop on my bald head. Turns out they want me to come back after our October cruise to get a topical chemotherapy cream to put on my head called  “Efudex.” The side effects sound horrible. Anyone have experience with this topical chemotherapy cream on their head? Thoughts and advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm so sorry. You sure have been through a lot with your health lately. I hope things will improve in the coming year as you have these things treated and get yourself all fixed up. How long until your next cruise?

We used to be able to do that here in DFW, too - I would just detach my TollTag and move it to a rental when my car was in the shop. However, they replaced all of those detachable TollTags with stickers, so now you are out of luck when you have a rental.

Another Dallas area resident here with a weather update, especially for @firefly333, Jane, who got out just in time.  Torrential horizontal rain, wind, flooding yesterday, sirens to alert folks of either tornadoes/extreme t-storms.  Scary. Never lost power.  Jack and I tried to stay calm until the siren ended which was probably less than 10 minutes.

 

So glad our Dallas area friends in here were spared any major damage.

Yes, we had more big storms on Saturday & Sunday. Thankfully, we didn't lose power this time like we did last Tuesday. Some unfortunate people didn't have power for nearly a week.The continued heavy rain is really hindering those who are still trying to clean up downed trees/branches. The ground is saturated with standing water everywhere. After today, though, the rest of the week is supposed to be sunnier and in the 90s.

Yep, that was my day yesterday which completely changed any plans I had while I frantically tried to find insurance.  Finally got it resolved at about 9:45 last night.

Well, my girls’ trip to FL next weekend just got canceled due to a couple of the girls having last-minute issues to deal with at home. Now I already have Friday off, the kiddo out of town with a church mission trip, and trying to see if I can figure out a quick weekend getaway for Brian and me instead. Maybe Hot Springs or the Hill Country, although I’ve been to both a bunch of times. I’m not good at being spontaneous.

Ideas?

We sailed in Deluxe Balcony L101 on Discovery Princess (CA Coastal) and loved it so much, we have similar cabins booked on two future cruises. We were never denied access to the balcony. One day it was very stormy, and the steward tied down all of our deck furniture to prevent it from blowing away, but we were never prohibited from going out there. Never felt seasick (even on the stormy day). You will love it.

It's going to take a long time to clean up our city. There is tree and/or fence damage at nearly every house in our neighborhood, as well as in the medians on the main streets. We only saw a couple of homes with roof damage, which is surprising considering how many large mature trees were destroyed. We lost one of ours.
