I was very surprised and disappointed, since I'd heard good things beforehand. I've sailed on RCL's Adventure and Allure in the past year, which are both older than Breeze, and they were lovely. There's no excuse for Carnival letting it get that way when other lines are able to maintain their ships. I think maybe they are also using cheaper materials/furnishings to start with, and they aren't holding up as well over time.

Discovery Princess. He enjoyed our Lido deck cabin's proximity to pizza and cookies. Also, our cabin was forward-facing with a huge balcony (but cheaper as it was categorized as "obstructed" due to the metal rail), which was really cool. 😂 He swam in the pool one day and enjoyed that. He didn't miss the slides.

I agree with this. We have sailed both Princess and Carnival this year. The Princess ship was much cleaner overall. The Carnival ship (Breeze, so not even one of the oldest ones) was in shabbier shape than it should have been for its age and there were lots of stains/trash/food residue. We are not elderly and had a great time on Princess. Our 13yo son said it was his favorite cruise ever.

Very interesting to see it in action. I saw them (not moving) on our cruise and I thought they would move sideways, not down from the top. -

That's where we would load up on cookies to take back to our balcony... -

Thanks for the info! I had checked yesterday and the prices were the same, but today significantly discounted. -

I hope the stragglers are being appropriately heckled. I find pier-runner watching entertaining, especially in Cozumel. The last time we were there (July), a ship excursion arrived late, so all of the usual stragglers just blended in with the excursion people. Ruined the whole thing. 😂 -

We went to Sabatini's one night on our Princess cruise. We rarely do specialty restaurants due to the extra cost (MDR is usually fine for us and already paid for), but at $35 we figured why not. We all really enjoyed it, but we didn't try the steakhouse so I can't compare it to that. I would eat there again. -

Alfredo's/Gigi's was still an included venue when we were on Discovery back in March. It is now an upcharge restaurant, so the change is recent. Very sad. We ate lunch there twice on our cruise, and we had to wait 30+ minutes both times because it was so popular then. It is a table-service restaurant where a server takes your order, so it's nicer than the other cruise ship pizza places you've seen. Also, they have a few other things than pizza. I had an amazing veal ravioli with a cream sage sauce both times. Here's the thread discussing the changes. It's pretty disappointing.
