  1. One thing to be aware of; when on the island the staff have no way of electronically debiting against your C&A vouchers. They hand write tickets and reconcile with the ship at some point post departure. I only bring this up to say; mentally keep track of your drinks; when you get back to the ship you may have fewer vouchers left than the system states.
  2. Maintaining the Windjammer is part of my cruise fare - no need to pay extra Just like clean laundry and clean dishes.
  3. If I am walking through a line with a tray, gathering my own food, there is absolutely no way I would leave a tip. In this regard, a buffet is no different than a fast food restaurant, however fast food in my area are starting to ask for tips as well. No Thank You!!
  4. An announcement will be made around 1300-1400 that all cabins are ready
  5. IMHO Royal does a FAR better job boarding their ships. "First on, First off" really isn't a concern with Royal. ANONE can go from Uber to a bar stool in about 15-20 minutes, just check in online when the option opens and secure an early boarding time. Odyssey is a GREAT ship, and i am fairly certain you will have ZERO regrets
  6. There is absolutely NOTHING to stress about. If you are comfortable with the construct of the daily auto charge, then participate in it and forget about it. Those that aren't comfortable with that program have the option to not participate. The beauty of choice, in my opinion, makes for a very "stress free" experience.
  7. Absolutely correct, these ship jobs are highly coveted. There are altitudes of resources to confirm the guaranteed salaries of the crew, the ultimate being the ILO, which governs and regulates Seafarers wages and rights worldwide.
  8. It’s hard to believe because it is 200% false. The crew salary is guaranteed regardless of tips.
  9. Buffet service is included in your basic fare; certainly isn’t a tipped position.
  10. We cruise from Galveston 4-5 times a year; we stay on island, since the restart we have not encountered the 2 night minimum (unless it was a holiday) that was standard pre-Covid.
  11. We had an infinite balcony on the Edge. I will never book another one.
  12. When one of the passengers is quoted on an international interview “they (NCL) were too strict in the enforcement of their guidelines”; I consider that blame
  13. I will agree, I liked the a la carté packaging better than the current offering.
  14. Well, much like the “new ship” pricing structure at Royal; Edge class over at X demands a premium. My 8 day Reflection sailing saw a drop of about $350 between the 3 perk and 2 perk packages.
  15. No, I liked that move; it lowered the cost of the AI packages considerably
  16. Middle name does not come into play. as for the capital D, I have no experience with this one; but I can’t imagine it matters
  17. If only!!! unfortunately, I believe the RU system had been partially responsible for the increases in fares. The big system has shown them exactly what people are willing to spend.
  18. They also solicit bids, if for no other reason, than data collection regarding what people are willing to pay for cabins
  19. Agreed, love Maya Chan. We have gotten to be good friends with the owners (Americans). The big issue is they are closed a large portion of the peak season.
