  1. Not cynical at all. I appreciate your very honest, realistic statement. Thank You
  2. Most everything stated in this Op-Ed post is somewhat overstated and dramatized The working hours stated are well Within industry standards You have no idea how much Royal pays each crew member before tips, but again; by international seafarer labour rules it is certainly more than $100. I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I hardly consider the lack of free WiFi to be a hardship of any kind.
  3. No, they are subsidizing revenue. This revenue does nothing for my cruise costs except to possibly raise it as people prove to the cruise line they will pay for this type of thing.
  4. No one on here (save one) has mentioned not tipping, many of us just do it differently
  5. You can’t do that, auto tips are an “all in or all out” proposition
  6. Read the room, my yelling was simply in reply to the yelling of the post I quoted. No nerve to touch here, I am very comfortable in the way I conduct my business; and the staff that cares for me and mine seem very satisfied
  7. Grats being raised annually has nothing to do with people removing them. They raise the gratuities because you pay them without questioning it.
  8. The crew puts the cash in their pocket and it is never mentioned again.
  9. THIS TOPIC HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT ONE CAN OR CANNOT AFFORD
  10. How much do you tip above and beyond the automatic gratuity?
  11. Stating in a public forum how much you tip is very much lacking in taste.
  12. Just another reason to skip the MDR; I am already driven nuts by the traditional conga line, applaud your wait staff, give us good marks on the survey, towel waving pep rally on the second to last or last night.
  13. I’ve never done this I don’t know anyone who has ever done this Doing this would be a really low life thing to do.
  14. The original post I quoted 4 hours ago said prior to 18, that was amended to 19 well after my comment
  15. Gotcha Myro, that edit came after my post. thanks Merry Christmas
  16. But their parents were Diamond prior to their 18th birthday, so they are Diamond
  17. And should be receiving Diamond benefits. You will advance to Diamond Plus when you have 175 points, just like everyone else.
  18. I call them, usually the morning of day 2; the wait times seem to have died down by then.
