  1. Carnival is sticking with a 3 day testing window for vaccinated, and have now lumped unvaccinated testing into the same 3 day window, (that is different than Royal) They have also dropped the PCR testing requirement for unvaccinated children (2 and older) and have done away with “check in” testing for unvaccinated children, antigen testing 3 days prior to embarkation is accepted for this group, (also different than Royal)
  2. All this means is they are moving Cafe Promenade to Starbucks beans, nothing else. You still have to pay for your Frappuccinos and Machiattos at the Starbucks locations
  3. No, the dynamic on a land based restaurant is completely different. I will however adjust my tip lower than what i normally would do for "average" service
  4. Because those people are being paid a VERY fair wage for the work they do, and most of them get their tips when they of their MDR duties.
  5. One would assume that their logic, when boosters were added to the equation by the CDC; was that the incubation period for boosted individuals was less of an issue than incubation period for non boosted. Regardless of your view on the science, this was what they ran with. From a marketing standpoint, it has been a home run.
  6. It’s confusing because of the typo in their press release. Carnival has allowed those boosted to test 3 days prior, those not boosted have been required to test 2 days prior, just like Royal.
  7. I don’t cruise carnival either However from what I’ve read on the other boards, if boosted you may test up to three days prior to embarkation if not boosted you must test no more than two days before embarkation. Everyone must test but boosted may do it a day earlier
  8. Yes sir, and I repeat there is no “requirement” for boosters Boosted cruisers have an extra day to test, although the typo in this post by the line does not properly indicate that.
  9. Carnival has entered the chat https://www.cruisehive.com/carnival-cruise-line-drops-testing-on-shorter-sailings/77610
  10. No, last week we all ate breakfast together in one big Kumbaya moment.
  11. Yes it is a fact you have taken many cruises; so have I. That is where your facts end, and your personal opinion creates bias. The crews contract guarantees the salary, that’s a fact. Whether or not you participate in the auto tip a no bearing on this salary, that’s a fact. The cruise-line won’t tell you the amount that is shared (or if it is shared) with these positions , that’s a fact.
  12. No, there is absolutely no factual basis for this comment. See above post #78
  13. You don’t know that. All the workers, including the mysterious “behind the scenes”, have their salary guaranteed, exclusive of gratuity. No one can prove the dishwashers or laundry staff get a gratuity bonus. Because of the lack of transparency, I, and many others choose not to participate. No harm, no foul. Everyone should do what makes them comfortable, but your decisions should be fact based and not due to internet rumor.
  14. No, you will not get an accurate distribution list. It is far from transparent, and you really have no idea where the money goes.
  15. Not punishing the crew, they are still going to tip, just doing it their preferred way.
  16. When I leave the room I take 10 singles, when I am out of cash, I know the wife and I are out of vouchers.
  17. I am sorry, but this is inaccurate information. I just cruised last week out of PC ( March from PE) drank more than my fair share prior to leaving the dock and was never charged anything (I have a $0 invoice from last week to prove it)
  18. Not if you have a package International waters for the purposes of this discussion is 12 nautical miles, not 3
  19. Believe it or not, TX liquor laws are down right progressive compared to some places in the USA
