  1. Allure has not been amped, and that is perfectly fine with me.
  2. Florida embarkations are not included in the “select sailings”
  3. Royal does NOT call it an “onboard service fee” You are right, the whole thing is “grey” there is zero transparency. Due to the fact that it is voluntary, you can decide on who gives you above and beyond service and tip appropriately.
  4. The waiter that told you his salary was $25 per week was lying to you
  5. We obviously have different definitions of the term “gratuity”
  6. Not Royal directly, but quite possible the insurance companies granting them liability coverage that Royal requires.
  7. Are you saying there should be an extra fee for laundry services on the ship? That clean linens aren’t included in the base fare?
  8. If I have no personal interaction with someone, I have no need to tip them. dishwashers and laundry personnel services are the bare minimum services in my cruise fare. There is nothing “extra” there to be rewarded.
  9. San Pedro / Los Angeles has indeed changed, just like Galveston and New Orleans.
  10. Always have, and before the discussion turns to "un-vaxed can stay on board like they do in Cayman"; the Bahamian policy states that this is not an option, and they will disallow then entire ship from docking.
  11. That is not what their most up to date Ministry of Tourism web site states (specific to cruise ship visitors) https://www.bahamas.com/travelupdates
  12. If you are wanting to use a multi national corporation as your agent, then yes, the insurance and liabilities are quite different than operating as your own "owner operator"
  13. Royal and Celebrity have had some minor and some major differences in policies throughout the pandemic.
  14. This is full of inaccuracies. For one, sailings of 6 days or more, embarking from North America, all require testing. This post seems to exclude Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Galveston. It appears that testing and vaccination protocols have been mixed up here.
  15. Hardly; this is one of the 2 most welcome, significant changes to come out of the pandemic (E Muster being the other)
  16. You should lose your posting privileges for using the term “floating germ factory”
  17. While not specific to FOTS, I haven’t been charged a corkage fee in at least 10 years, and that includes 4 cruises in the last 8 months.
