  1. In the beginning.... there were noodles --- and then they were... ramen 😉 First ramen [excellent] try for DH. So fitting with a very wintry Saturday lunch with the kids and grands.
  2. @Jimbo Jim, all I can say that it was worth the wait. Just beautiful. How many "eyes" has your stove? I'm counting eight....
  3. During my long career, I've typed so many Ph.D. theses, but very few "remained" with me... One of them was written by a speech therapist, who videotaped deaf kids [at the time, 1998, a very break through approach to research], in order to see how they interact with other deaf kids in a specialized center -- this is one of the articles she published. Parent Report of the Development of Auditory Skills in Infants and Toddlers Who Use Hearing Aids -- Drorit Ben-Itzhak et al
  4. Glad to being of help. DH has always such brilliant ideas 😉 Funny you should mention the attachment ... DH was not happy that our pasta "machine", which laid forgotten until this morning, has only 2 "options" - thin and large... I've mentioned to him that our new Kenwood [which arrived very quickly and had already "produced" cookies, and I find it very "handsome" 😀] has many options of pasta attachments, and we should buy some additional ones -- I was indeed looking at this corner, but I thought that his back was so curved, like he's in "attack mode"....
  5. This. Pls. stay with "us" 😉 , and thank you, as always, for your riveting reviews.
  6. Test -- I'm trying to post a video of DH trying his best to comply with the kids' requirements of "hand made pasta".... If the experiment will succeed, he will proceed to find more suitable tools instead of just hangers.... IMG_7391.MOV
  7. That it looks like a "Seder" plate was my initial thinking too, but then, it usually says in the middle: "Passover" -- "פסח", which gave me "second thoughts". But then my DH "took over", magnified it, and you can definitely see IT IS a "Seder" plate -- we can definitely identify "Karpas" (כרפס), "Charoset" (חרוסת), "Beytza" (ביצה) and "Maror" (מרור).... Here's a plate I've found on google....
  8. Graham, Rory also asked me to rely his best wishes for your Sarah xxx @grapau27 Same here... Epilepsy is so bad as it is, without the "adds on". So sorry, and hoping for the best 🙏.
  9. Agree, it is so frustrating. We have often loss of power, not necessarily weather-related. Sometimes is just poor planning of cutting trees... Years ago, when I was typing MA or PhD theses for a living, I refused to agree to a tight timetable of delivery. If I knew that it will take me 3 days, I said 5-6 days. I never had to say to a student: "I lost power, so my computer is useless and the work is not done".... It meant also that many took their business to another typist, and I lost the customer and the potential customers whom he was supposed to recommend... Also, one of the reasons we have a gas stove-top, and a gas option to heat the house when the daily AC doesn't have electricity....
  10. Mark, @h20skibum I had a feeling yesterday that I've forgot another "Californian" [even if he's "par alliance" 😉] -- your son, GS and DIL, hopefully they'll weather too the 🌧️
  11. To all our "Californians" under the weather -- @Coralc, Patti @NHProud, Judy @Tree_skier, Dave @FromSea2ShiningSea, Helen @harryfat1, Harry Hopefully, you'll safely "weather" the weather 🌧️
  12. Same here, we've done it in our own with the public bus.
  13. Knowingly - I wouldn't book a cruise with a charter group on board. We were on Anthem, and we had a third of the passengers as a charter [auto part selling big company]. It seemed that it was entirely "their" cruise -- reserved avenues every where, restaurants, shore excursions priority -- it was annoying, They behaved like they owned the ship. Wish we'd knew before hand.
  14. + 3, Crystal @singinalot If I may ask, how do you like your new job, how is Sam's fence business doing, how do you like being "Floridians"? You're the 3rd couple who moved to "Florida" since I've started this thread.... ( @bobmacliberty, @helen haywood ) 🌹, but the only ones still working.
  15. First, let me say that we're Israelis, and our interests may vary from those living in US, like the display in Lunenburg, NS, or the tides ... We've seen those in Normandy. There was nothing of interest for us in those stops, but they are on the way anyhow.... and took it into consideration. Our "interesting" part of the itinerary included Boston, where we roamed Beacon Hill, Charles Park and Quincy Market; Newport, where we visited several mansions; Bar Harbor -- Acadia Park/Jordan Lake and Cadillac Mountain; Halifax -- Peggy Cove and the Botanical Garde;, PEI -- private tour of Cavendish, Red beach, Rustico, Confederation Bridge, etc. (not including Anne of Green Gables).
  16. @aussielozzie18 Your beautiful pictures yesterday reminded me of my fav video of our eldest son, which captured so well his love for animals and laid back character... When he was still a flight attendant, he took the opportunity to visit one of his best friends, who initially had a grant to study at Monash University, and then choose to remain in Melbourne. 743e5160-60b5-4a32-8bf0-e27d2131e06b.MP4
  17. PEI and overnight in Quebec were the highlights of our cruise. OTOH, I could do without Sydney and St. John.... Cape Liberty to Quebec on Vision of the Seas
