Just got off the Dawn in Lisbon and here is my experience and what I did. On formal night, I wear a very nice Armani black sports coat, black slacks and a tie. On informal nights, same sports coat, slacks or levi's and no tie. Casual night, Levi's or slacks and a shirt. I saw Levi's all over the ship, even on formal nights. The only dress code police was at Atlantide, when men had to wear a jacket on formal and informal nights. These comments applied to all the restaurants and bars after 6PM. Tuxedos and dinner jackets were in the minority on both of my cruises this year.

Post covid we have done two SS cruises and we have five more SS cruises paid for until 4-25. I see mixed opinions from many about SS. SS Air has been perfect for me and really came through last summer when some airlines went on strike. Life on the SS ships could not be better. I still will look at RSSC and Seabourn for future cruises. I only like the newer ships, just me. When I do the number crunching, SS beats RSSC every time when you factor in Bus Air. The current challenge with Seabourn is you cannot lock in the Bus Air before 330 days and I tend to book way in advance. With the crazy inflation, I pass on Seabourn since I will not know the cost including Bus Air. I am not a cheer leader for any cruise line, but right now, SS is getting all my business. Also for me, trying to use air miles for Bus Class is a joke and I don't even try anymore.

The other side of the coin- We did the Nov. 2022 Lisbon to Lisbon. Originally it was Dakar to Lisbon. A few months prior to cruise date, I did notice that the fares had gone down. I contacted my TA with a copy of the screen shot showing lower fares and asked to get a refund. Lo and behold, a couple of days later we got a credit for $1200 each or $2400 in total. We were very happy.

Having just gotten of the Dawn after 12 glorious days, it could not have been a better cruise. We have four days in Lisbon and just finished our first of four days with Jorge of Premiere Tours. He is just wonderful to have as our private tour guide. It is now 6:30 and we can't find the butler with our caviar and champagne- we were just spoiled. In our opinion, SS has NOT lost its luster at all. Now looking forward to the Nova in August 2023.

We got our luggage tags at the SS hotel precruise on the day before the cruise. Just see the SS representative.

I also remember that "no jeans" comment on our July 2022 Moon cruise but no mention or problems with wearing jeans on the Dawn.

Currently on the Dawn- I started a new topic. Loving the Dawn!!

Currently just got on the Dawn on Monday in Lisbon. The ship is apparently fully booked and we don't feel any crowds. There were open tables last night in La Dame and the same on Monday in SALT restaurant. On the daily Chronicles regarding dress code, there is no mention of "Levi's not allowed". I saw Levis last night in La Dame and a few with no ties and it was formal night. For us, dinner in La Dame was worth every penny of the upcharge. Monday and tonight were casual night and Levis are allowed with no problems. One comment on SS air for us. We just had a summer cruise to Copenhagen Bus Air and it was perfect. Getting to Lisbon on SS air last Sat. was also perfect- so far, so good. If you have questions, please ask and I will try to answer when I have the time. Overall we are loving the Dawn and looking forward to the Nova in August of 2023.

I am pleased with what SS had done for us regarding canceling the inaugural Nova cruise that we were on. I rebooked the 8-21-22 to 9-1-22 cruise on the Nova and I got an additional 10% discount because SS canceled the inaugural. Win-Win to me!!

We were on the inaugural and were notified today of cancelation.

I emailed Barbara Muckerman at SS asking about when Starlink was coming to the Dawn since we board 11-21-22 in Lisbon. She said it was being done in December in Ft. Lauderdale. Also she confirmed that the Nova would have Starlink. Great news for those of us that need to stay in touch with the rest of the world.

My experience with D2D is that it does NOT include pre and post hotel stays on the classic ships. I think on expedition cruises it may include hotels. My July 2022 cruise on the Moon did not include the hotel, but our 11-21-22 cruise on the Dawn DID include two nights pre-hotel.

For us, another problem with SB is pricing out Bus Air fares. If the cruise is more than 330 days out, you will not know what the cost of Bus Air is. We are booked out to 2024 with SS.

We are on the Dawn on 11-21-22 and the SS website shows the entire cruise is wait-listed- full ship. I don't think SS is going to worry about a few people "jumping ship" to another line.

We always have shipboard credits, so I don't mind the upcharge for La Dame.

I for one just don't like the old Crystal ships. I only cruise on Moon, Dawn, Nova and Ray for now.

We will be on the Dawn on 11-20-22. We were on the Moon last July. Here is what this guy is taking and wearing- I am taking a black Armani Sports coat, black and gray dress slacks and a couple of ties. On formal nights I will wear Armaini, black slacks and a tie. Informal nights, Armani with either slacks and NO tie and casual nights no sports coat. Less to pack. That's my story and I am sticking to it!!

In July 2022, the internet on the Moon was really slow. It looks like by next spring, the new satellite system will solve the problem.

As I recall, the Muse does not have the SALT restaurant and bar, which I really enjoyed. For that reason, I stick with Moon, Dawn, Nova and the upcoming Ray.
