On the Dawn Salt Lab for cooking classes, there is no place to sit. On the Nova, the Salt Lab is used for cooking classes (free) and expensive dinner in the evenings. I am sure the Ray will be the same and the same dress code.

At least on the Nova, if you didn't bring a jacket, the restaurant usually has one to loan you- problem solved!!

GeorgiaPeach Sails the Oceania Marina

You might compare Regent prices to SS prices. I have found SS prices to be lower many times, even when you add business air. We finally found two Regent cruises that was what I consider a good price for two cruises in 2025. On Regent I will only go on the Splendor or Grandeur and on SS I will only go on the Moon, Dawn, Nova and soon the Ray. I just like the newer ships. -
We board the Nova this Saturday and we love the "New" dress code. I believe that eventually, the new dress code will extend to all the SS ships. The only thing constant is change and the new dress is the future. I find all of these dress code comments very entertaining. As an aside, the people who post on Cruise Critic are less than 1% of the SS customer base so place ALL of the comments either way, with a grain of salt.

When we went in August- dinner took 3 hours hence- dinner and a show.

La Dame- $160 pp or $320 for dinner for 2!!!!

Having done both, I agree that Chef's table is more fun unless you want a quiet intimate dinner, then go with La Dame! -
Always keep in mind that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It may not be as intimate, but the Chef's Table is quite a "Dinner and a Show". With the shipboard credits that you have, try it. -
We noticed that with the smaller hall closet included, we had tons of storage space for two people on a 11 day cruise.

We are getting back on as you get off. Have a great time. For us, the Nova is about as good as it gets for a cruise ship, but you decide!

Inaugural Silver Ray Voyage Cancellations
A Tucson Guy replied to Dolcevita Diva's topic in Silversea
The same thing happened to us on the Nova last July. We rebooked on the second cruise in August and had a great time and loved almost everything about the Nova. I am sure the Ray will be equally impressive. I'll bet the Ray has the same dress code as the Nova- hooray!! -
As mentioned elsewhere, we are getting on the Nova again in 17 days and we love the new dress code!!

Silver Nova 29th September to 16th October 2023
A Tucson Guy replied to John117's topic in Silversea
We cruised on the Nova in August and had just the opposite opinion on the most recent review. We loved almost everything about the Nova and we board the Nova again in 24 days and we can hardly wait. The moral to this story is why Baskin-Robbin made 31 flavors or different strokes for different folks. The only thing that we did not like was $320 per couple for LaDame and $380 per couple for the Chef's kitchen. I guess if you booked when there was a $1,000 shipboard credit promotion, then this would not be an issue. -
Thanks as I just signed up with AT&T for the Nov. 18 Nova cruise.

SS Future Re-Open Plan: Timing, Testing Needs??!!
A Tucson Guy replied to TLCOhio's topic in Silversea
What is really going up in price is Business Class airfares on intercontinental flights. The prices are getting crazy and you can almost forget about using air miles for the tickets. -
SS Future Re-Open Plan: Timing, Testing Needs??!!

Besides the summer crowds, what's not to love about Venice!! -
Here is my SS Air situation- I normally book my cruises two years in advance. On SS and Regent, even two years out, they give me a price for the SS Bus Air upcharge or with Regent, the Bus Air is included. I can't compare the upcharge to the airline prices since airline prices don't come out until 330 days prior to flying. That being said, I book my SS or Regent cruise with the Bus Air. Once I am 330 days out from flying, I check to see what the airline prices are for the same destination. So far, SS and Regent air is less that the tickets that I could buy. I think inflation has a lot to do with this equation.

La Dame- $160 pp or $320 for dinner for 2!!!!
A Tucson Guy replied to A Tucson Guy's topic in Silversea
When La Dame was or still is on most ships,an upcharge of $120 per couple, we almost didn't think it was worth the upcharge. Now at $320, unless i have shipboard credits that I need to burn through, forget about La Dame us non uber rich folks. -
Yes

Having eaten twice in La Dame on the Nova this August, La Dame in my opinion is not worth The $320 upcharge per couple. The only difference from La Dame on the other ships (at $120 upcharge per couple) is that the caviar served is Ossetra and that is way better than the stock caviar. Even that is not worth the upcharge. If you book a cruise with a $1,000 shipboard credit, this may be a way to spend that credit.
