  1. I asked this on the Tipping question but if you go with the Essentials fare, can you buy excursions if available, transfers and a pre-cruise hotel?
  2. I am wondering if you go with the Essential fare, can you pay for excursions, transfers and a hotel pre-cruise through SS?
  3. Caviar is included for all cabins at no cost, at least for now!
  4. Thank you Terry. We are doing Japan next April with SS. All your info really is appreciated.
  5. We are boarding the Nova in Athens on 6-9-24 and if I receive this same letter, it will not bother me in the least. There are so many other happenings in the world that are much more troublesome, that this type of letter does not even register. I used to live in Hawaii, hence I have a large collection of Tommy Bahama silk shirts, which I wear when I play golf, almost daily. All the Tommy shirts have a little cloth insert inside with five letters written on it. The letters are RELAX. I look at the insert every time I put the shirt on. It works for me!! If a piece of paper like this gets you all worked up, I feel sorry for you. Cruises for me are relaxation and a time to be so grateful that we can cruise on SS, RSSC or SB. There was a time in my life that I could not imagine taking these pricy, but worth it, cruises. I hope I see some of you on the Nova this June. Aloha and Mahalo!!
  6. I have found that on Formal Night, you will see more people dressed to the nines at Atlantide. I still go with a sport coat on formal night at Atlantide.
  7. It is one or both of these. I would email using both.
  8. Just to clarify, the Concierge cabins on Regent are 332 sq. ft. PLUS the balcony.
  9. We are getting on the Moon in Athens on 6-9-24 and hoping all goes as planned!!
  10. Thank you so far for the input. I am still hoping to hear from somebody who has done the SS 4-day extension.
  11. We are on the Nova in April 2025 from Tokyo to Vancouver. We are considering doing the 4 night pre-cruse extension "Imperial Japan". This tour is on almost all of the Japan cruises. The cost is a little pricey at $5200 per person. Can anybody who has done this tour comment about it and is it worth the money. I know everything in Japan is more expensive- thanks!!
  12. Usually either 9:30 or 10PM on our last two Nova cruises.
  13. Oh my God!! I hope that did not make you ill or ruin your dinner!!
  14. You might want to stick with the newer Regent ships as they are vastly improved.
  15. One comment- the Chef's Table is nightly and the cost is $180 per person- pricey but enjoyable! La Dame is $160 pp and Kaiseki is $80 pp, as I recall. This is only on the Nova and the new Ray.
  16. Having done two cruises last year on the Nova (both cruises were full capacity) we felt service in the restaurants was fine and the ship never felt crowded to us.
  17. Having spent 32 nights on the Nova last year, that is what I observed with rare exceptions.
  18. I would guess that your opinion, which you are entitled to, is in the very small minority of people that cruise the high end cruises. Those of us who belong to country clubs know what country club casual means. That is probably the future- like it or not.
  19. I know it is a personal preference but we really like the newer Nova class ships over the older ships that are getting long in the tooth.
  20. Whatever floats your boat as there is no norm. Some people don't tip at all and others are very generous and everything in between.
  21. The world is going to hell in a handbasket!!
  22. That is correct except Silver Note that starts seating at 8PM.
  23. It has been mentioned once already, but how can you use a front facing balcony when the ship is underway? The wind would blow everything away. I can't understand why anybody would book these cabins!!
