  1. We used this on the Caribbean Princess recently. You must confirm that you want to connect to the internet. And you have to purchase internet minutes before you can connect to the internet. The folks down at the internet cafe were great help!

    Have fun on your trip!

Thank you for the info, I was picturing my DH streaming a show , oblivious to the charges and getting my folio bill :0, but I had forgotten you must buy a package. Tks again. I guess this means I won't (wink wink) forget the phones at home LOL

  2. Princess@Sea uses the ship's Intranet that you access via WiFi on your device. There is no cost. You can access the Internet as one of the options in Princess@Sea for which there is a cost. You don't need the app.

I have a question. I see from this screen shot, it appears you would simply press the button at the bottom right to go to the Real internet, and since you have given your name and room # to set up the acct....my question / concern is, after hitting the internet button , is there additional steps to prevent me from accidentally going on $ the Real internet.

The thought of my DH (or I, we are tech dummies) racking up a huge bill because we didn't realize we were on the internet :0

  3. If your entire cruise and folio was paid with ONE credit card. You may be able to contact the credit card company for help.

Example had medical bill Recently, should have been coded 'wellness' provider wouldn't listen, insurance wouldn't listen...finally contacted credit card company, and At least I felt like SOMEONE was trying to help me.

But make sure you have a hard copy of this OBC. And a hard copy of the final folio to prove you never received OBC.

  4. I don't know how some people got by years ago before the internet. :p

I know I especially think of this when I need to book a hotel, back then... no reviews , nothing, you just picked a 'brand name', called 1800# and hoped for the best. I remember when some chains came out with books and was thrilled that I got to see a picture of the motel before booking LOL I can't image life with the internet :)

  5. Make it easier on yourself by using a free online fax software like FaxZero.

You don't have to leave the house and you get an email notification they received it. I have been submitting it this way for years.

😎 it never dawned on me there would be such a thing, awesome....Thank You.

  6. As a testament to how Good this Review is.... I read every word, no skimming ahead on this.....GREAT REVIEW, EXTREMELY WELL WRITTEN :) TY

you missed your calling(if you don't write professionally), you know it's good writing when you can really picture the seen, Great Job.

  7. After reading all of the previous posts, I am unclear on the issue of weather cabs are indeed by the hour.

I ask because I once got a taxi to bring me several places in a different port city and it was the WORST , I am no lollygagger By any means but at one point the cabby took my hand and pulled me away from a plaque I was reading.

If indeed the cabs are by the hour I would be SO pleased , because one of my stops in Puerto plata was going to be a restaurant for lunch. And no one wants a cabbie giving them the 'stink eye' when I can't control a restaurant's speed of service.

  8. I recently read a review about regal princess and with no real way to contact the writer ( the review was not on the threads) I am wondering if this has been anyone else's experience also.

She wrote 2 things that gave me great pause.

    1. Outrigger bar allows smoking - is this truly a smoking area :(

    2. There is not drink serve in the theater, you must bring one with you from else where. ( I had heard there were no armrest-Tables)... but no drink serve ???

  9. I can't even imagine THINKING of doing such a thing!

That's kind of like going to a wedding with an open bar and asking for the money instead of the drinks.

Lol, very good example and just as Insane to think, someone probably has had the nerve to do that also, lol.

  10. Agree, use Uber. It is a flat rate and the driver has more incentive to get off I-95 and find faster alternatives.

Between 4-7 it will take forever to get from MIA to FLL.

I have a follow-up question. (Our flight arrives around 5)

We live in such a small town, we dont have taxis .....much less uber.

The uber website seems pretty simple.

But as a total newbie, and scaredy- cat, Id love to get a sense of the procedure.

    1. Get bag at baggage claim.

    2. Use app to request ride.

    3. Wait outside for car

    4. App notifys me his there and what car is?

    CORRECT? ? ?

    Thank you your help

    (Signed) newb (lol)

  11. I really want to simply jump into a cab at MIA to get to my pre-cruise hotel near port everglades. I know the fare generally runs between $80-100. I know there are cheaper options.

My question is, having been stuck in traffic jam nightmares in other large city's. And truly being a 'worst case scenario' kinda gal. I was hoping to see if there were any nightmare stories out there, of cabs between ft lauderdale and miami. and of course the nightmare fare you ended up with.

Thanks to anyone who , takes the time to share a story.

  12. Yes' date=' our experience was largely as OP reported. Serious sales attempt at the spa. Of course, had they skipped their "product recommendations," they also would have reduced their time with me by 10 minutes.[/quote']

After having a message on another cruise line, I swore I'd Never have one on a cruise ship again. The 50 minute massage was, 10 minutes of me sitting in chair discussing any issues I need worked on by her , 10 minutes for me to change/undress,30 minutes of ACTUAL massage and THEN the hard sales pitch. I have had the opportunity to visit many spas in Vegas and although there price tends to be double or triple. at least I feel like i get what I paid for.

I am usually (other than in spa's) a pay for only the things you want ,not everything all lumped into one....but in a spa, I find that to be the point. relax in a robe or hot tub beforehand and get a RELAXING massage.

Not called in the back like a doctor's visit and then the rest of the shenanigans.

I believe if the spa's on cruise ships were NOT independently run, they would be Much better.

  13. Dear OP , I was so excited to see your thread. You will be, on one of PRINCESS' first cruises to amber cove ( I go on regal princess to amber cove in Dec) .

I was hoping someone would report back in late November Before I depart. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts but REALLY LOVE, if there is any chance, you'd post your patters from that week. I know I never think to save my patters, but hears hoping you are better than I would be :)

Either way have a great trip and this link may be helpful to your research.

  14. This deck plan is not accurate . The red arrow points to the IC and the blue arrow , where we were seated is the Piazza Bar . It is incorrectly labeled IC .

You can see it better in the photo with the blue arrow pointing to the window , in the bar where we were seated . The red arrow is the IC .

Thank you very much for such a detailed reply:) it looks like Such a great place to enjoy my MANY cup of joe :) I realized I'd seen this area in videos but didn't recognize it because it was empty. Well I now want the next 6months to fly by EVEN faster :) thanks again :)

  15. Dear OP, I have a question about post #67 page 4, you posted pics of coffee and donuts....I didn't think there was a seating area I haven't seen a picture of or youtube video of (lol) But .... the pictures of the seating Post #67 w/ the coffee and donuts,

Could you please tell me where this is located.

I ask because I am most looking forward to coffee from IC and actually having a spot to enjoy the coffee.

Please excuse if asked and answered already, but I find myself enjoying your pics but not reading All the replys :)

  16.

My first Princess cruise was in 1998. When the least expensive inside cabin for a 10 night cruise on the old Regal Princess was over $1800 per person. Move forward to 2011 and for a 10 night cruise on Star Princess the fare for an oceanview cabin was one-third of that. So Princess offering more for-fee options--as long as that is what they are, options--is not a "money grab" but a money saving for those of us who don't need features they don't partake of included in their cruise fare.

your comment was a GREAT addition to the conversation, thank you and TRULY had me thinking. Yes I often partake in the "add ons" but I would rather pay for the extras I WISH to partake in and skip those I do not. AND as you mentioned above ,if the cruises were that price now ... I would probably not be able to go on princess.

  17. Perhaps, we are in a very small minority who care less who the CD is and what they do. We do not play trivia or bingo or cruise to be entertained, we entertain ourselves.

We cruise to go and to explore new areas, see new things, meet new people.

We choose Princess because to us they deliver the most bang for the buck. We enjoy the perks they provide in their loyalty program. We enjoy interaction with the staff and learning about their lives in their home countries.

Question: Why do you cruise and why on Princess?

    P&J

Well normally I would have agreed with you about "care less who the CD is" HOWEVER I sailed the caribbean princess in late Feb/ early March , which happened to be my 1st princess cruise and that being my7th cruise total , find myself literally saying out loud to my DH one sea day "I'm bored". I felt like the daytime activities were poorly timed, meaning there was not one thing to Do all day between lunch and 4pm ....yet there were multiple things at overlapping times between 4 - 6....the time at which I either get dressed for dinner and or have a pre dinner cocktail.

I was worried this was the norm for princess, and was questioning my Dec cruise on the Regal princess.....UNTIL I found posted copies of the patter , from Regal princess and then understood HOW important a Good CD can be.

Did the CD ruin my cruise...Well certainly NOT.

But thanks to fellow CC members posting their patters, probably saved me from rebooking my Dec cruise onto a different cruise line.

I don't need to be entertained 24/7 but I don't go on vacation to bored either.

  18. Well in my experience ( one princess cruise, one crown grill visit ) I was surprisingly disappointed in the quality of the steak, I for one even said to my DH I would have gladly pay the same price as RCL OR NCL ( both higher priced) But far, far superior in quality.

Unfortunately Im pretty sure Princess raised prices and didn't change quality.

Yes I asked waiter for a different steak , no 2nd one was no better....NOT TO MENTION, WHY the heck is princess SO proud to advertise "corn Fed" beef. Corn Fed is NOTHING to be proud of.
