  1. Can anyone fill me in on the details of any Happy Hour(s) offered on the Regal? Where / When / Prices ? (I thought I saw something about $1 drinks/wine somewhere....) BTW.. we're mostly "wine" people... but ya never know...HIC!

    http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2300194

This is a link to a great regal princess review because he post links to all his patters and more,

You can actually see where and when these "happy hours" are...subject to change of course but it will give you an idea of how it works :)

  2. Sorry I can't help. But I am very interested in this story, you paid for the whole cruise and it seems pretty rude for princess to ask you to leave SO early that morning. Did they give you an explanation as to ,why you can't disembark in the afternoon.

My only suggestion would be, ask and ask again... until you are at least satisfied with their explanation. And they aren't simply pushing you off , for THEIR convenience.

  3. As a person with a "germ phobia", when I first read your post, I was like WHAT. But as a person who ALSO recently had a thread about something I felt was germy. I have come to realize MOST of my fears and upsetness, come from .....CHANGE to what I perceive as normal. And once I got feedback .....

I realized to EXPECT more things to be unexpected and try to handle it with calmness.

I am sure Princess has considered all of the ramifcations of the new bedding and I I choose to trust that it will all work out.

  4. Once, on another cruise line, I had a steward go into the drawers to find my nightclothes to make an animal out of them!! This was years ago when they would take your nightgown and spread it out on the bed in shapes. I hated that and would "hide" my nightgown. This steward clearly searched it out. That was annoying!

Truly a reminder that, things could always be worse :)

    Thank you sharing :)

  5. Well I am writing to see what seasoned Princess cruisers think of what happened.

I'll start by saying that I booked four days before the Caribbean princess sailed the last week of February so it was an impromptu trip. but I couldn't wait to give Princess a try (until my regal Princess trip in December) and we got a heck of a deal on a ocean view cabin.

The first part of this incident started Wednesday evening when I put the do not disturb sign up before heading out for dinner and the show. When we returned the room Stewart had clearly come in for turndown service ,unaware whether this was a princess cruise lines thing meaning that other cruise lines room Stewart is not supposed to come in but I was unaware whether this was the case for princess. My husband urged me to just let it go as it wasn't a big deal. But the real problem or incident I should say, actually happen the final evening of the cruise 90% of my stuff was packed in the large suitcase we brought. All that was left out in the closet was our clothing and underclothing to disembark. All week long I'd had both ropes hanging on a hanger in the closet and they still were. Well my clothing and underclothing were hanging to the left of the closet where all of my clothing has been for the week and my husbands was hanging to the far right were his clothing had been for the week and the robes in the middle and empty hangers strung about. When we returned for the evening after dinner, to my complete shock everything in the closet (small amount of items) was all rearranged. Including my underclothes. she had smashed my clothing and my husbands clothing altogether in the very center of the closet in order to organize the empty pant hangers and shirt hangers. The robes were now hanging on the pegs on the bathroom door. My husband didn't seem to think this is a big deal but as an obsessive-compulsive person who has a hard time with people touching my things, and feeling as though I've taken precautions, i.e. having my bra and underwear behind the small wooden section of the closet where no one could bump into it and having my clothing in front of it. (Yes I had my under things hanging, NO that's not normal, it was just this way to disembark)

Once again my husband urged me to let it go as it wasn't a big deal to him. but I felt like this being the second incident ,that I needed to know if this was a princess thing or whether this particular room Stewart was anxious to turn over the room and organize the hangers.

I went downstairs to the front desk ,kind of feeling like a crazy person trying to explain what had even happened. the guy was very nice ,very understanding and even repeated my story to me to make sure he was understanding what my problem was . He assured me that lady should not have come into the room when the do not disturb was up and assured me that no, she should not have touched my clothing ,underclothing and rearranged everything.

I left ,returning to my room feeling as I accomplished what I could in this situation. Around five minutes later there was a knock at the door, I assumed it was the room stewerd but when I open the door I found a manager standing there. He introduced himself and asked if he could come in. he came in and asked me to repeat the story, so that he could make sure he was understanding correctly. He apologized for the incident and I told him it was fine that I had only really complained in order to find out, whether this was a princess policy or was it just this particular room Stewart.

He reiterated what the front desk guy said that no she should not have come in the night the do not disturb was up BUT however he had a different take on the incident with the moving of the clothing. he said that in the future, especially on my cruise in December, that might be helpful if I were to inform the room steward that I did not want my clothing touched.

which left me confused, because now I did not understand whether this was a normal thing for princess room stewards, to organize your clothes and hangers the last night. I DON'T want to misrepresent the facts in no way was this manager implying it was my responsibility or fault for what happened he just said for my comfort I may want to say something to the next room steward but this statement now leaves me confused.

so my question is basically , was this just an oddball incident that I should not worry about on future Princess cruises or should I take some other precautions for my final evening .

I feel that the front desk guy and the manager did an exceptional job and all that they could .... once this cat was out of the bag, haha what was anybody really gonna do and I appreciate their thoughtfulness.

    And your feedback. Thanks.

  6. I have a question about the coffees at IC. I am a coffee lover ( as is everyone on this thread) my question is, I generally have a cup of regular then must switch to decaf. What options are available in decaf ??? Example, could I get a dark roast anniversary (listed on menu previously on this thread) in a decaf or a latte in a decaf?

The answer will greatly affect weather or not I get a coffee card.

    Ty for the help :)

  7. I booked a last minute cruise in about a week. I know I have read on princess threads, that princess' exchange rate is bad BUT my cruise includes cozumel, which I have been to many many times. The last two times, the currency exchange rate favored the usd much more. Today it's 18 to 1 BUT in cozumel MOST local retailers and port merchants STILL only give the price quoted in a 10 to 1 ratio. I've read princess does exchange my usd-Cash (not bill my folio account) into mxn peso with a $3.50 service fee..... any idea as to there current exchange rate.

    Tks for the help

  8. We stayed in this cabin. NO, you will not be bothered with noise. There are a few chairs in that area and we found most people are sitting in couples having a drink from Crooners or reading quietly. Honestly, unless we looked down we were unaware when anyone was there. Never noticed any lights. We draw our drapes at night.

Loved the larger balcony. It's a great value choice.

    Ty for your reply. :)

  9. Sorry I don't have a pic to download, but I stayed in this exact cabin last year. Enjoyed the location so much, we picked the comparable one (D410) on the Royal for our next cruise. The balcony does angle out a bit more than a normal deluxe balcony cabin, so it is larger than others. And it feels very private. You will have some ambient light on the balcony at night from the promenade and the Skywalk several decks up. But I liked it; no need to turn on the balcony lights! No obstruction either.

Inside, it's the same as any other deluxe balcony. You won't have mid-ship stairs, but we never had an issue with walking to forward stairs or using mid-ship elevators.

Dear luvseaside, I am booked in E425 also for the balcony size. My question is about the the promenade below. Everyone's tastes are different, an example being on my last cruise I finally snagged an aft facing balcony which I thought was the greatest thing since sliced bread, for the view and loved the wake of the ship from the rear but my DH was not happy and asked to go back to a side balcony next time.

I am worried about the promenade being noisy or smoke drifting up. I believe , like you, I will enjoy the light from the promenade but does it affect the inside of the cabin or just the balcony?

  10. My cruise cost approximately $2,450 so the gratuities is ONLY 7.5% tip. I realize every pays different prices (inside to penthouse) but like a restaurant on land a $100 meal or a $20 meal, they should still be tipped around 20% for good service and 25% for excellent. So regardless of your cabin price most people are getting a HECK of a bargain if they ONLY auto tip. But there will always be the people who remove auto tips and also leave $2 on a $100 on land meal.

I doubt anyone who removes the auto tips, have ever been to vegas..you can't remove the resort fee, princess should remove the word 'discretionary' because of these people.

  11. I am sorry to hear the trouble you've had. As a person who has been Eyeing CCL stock almost daily since Aug. I hate to hear this, PLUS as a person who booked under the sip and sail promotion, I certainly would not want the same thing to happen to us, had we got the stock. I know many haters will say, well that's shooting yourself in the foot. Well I've been watching CCL since Aug because I feel it still a little over-valued, I know it has a nice dividend but do I want to risk messing up my booking for a hundred bucks...No way, matter of fact I added insurance Sunday and was paranoid that it would mess up am AIBP....SO Princess has done itself no favors by doing the OP wrong.

Ps just curious I thought the credit for stock was $100, partybarbie listed 250...I'm NOT questioning her reply, she has ALWAYS been kind and upfront....just curious.

  12. I would normally not consider booking a pre cruise hotel thru a cruise line BUT since I learned the hard way about NOT buying travel insurance last year, I will be purchasing princess' insurance, which IF I have read correctly.... also covers pre cruise hotels.

My question is > how far in advance would you recommend booking the hotel?????....since princess has the Regal and Caribbean Princess BOTH leaving port everglades the 11th and FLL only has ONE 'princess' hotel. Seems as though it would fill up quickly.

    Ty for any advice :)

  13. I'm surprised no one has ever considered that the threads like these .... could be actually started by princess , as an informal survey. And by jumping to defend 'what ever' issue is being debated .....May give princess the , positive feedback they WANT. I really don't have an opinion either way on carts in the hallway BUT these threads always seem odd to me, kinda like princess fishing for a...pat on the back.

  14.

As a CONVENIENCE for B2B passengers, US Customs has agreed to work with Princess by allowing "in transit" passengers the easier transit through Princess Theater.

HERE'S AN IDEA: Let's say the meeting time is 10am. Then giving a 15 minute grace period, if a transit passenger arrives after, say 10:15am, then do NOT allow then to participate in the transit program. Instead REQUIRE them at that point to disembark, clear customs, and check-in again as a just arriving passenger

AWESOME IDEA :) I want to live in a world were people are held Accountable for their actions !! If your late and the ship sails without you there are consequences, and there defiantly should be something like this idea put into place before the 'bad Ruin it for all the good people'
