I won’t mention the ship, but on one of my recent sailings, when we told our stateroom attendant to stock double towels/etc, they did, but also mentioned that they would do just a towel service in the evening (just grab dirty towels and put fresh towels if we used).  We were very happy with this and tipped extra accordingly.

    Excellent ty

Like others have stated, just ask your cabin steward for more towels. Keep in mind you may not be able to request morning service. On two of my last three cruises in the last two months the only option I had was afternoon/evening service because other cabins had already filled up the morning slots. If morning service is important to you, I would recommend hanging out in your cabin on embarkation day so you are one of the first passengers to meet your cabin steward.

Very interesting,  ty. This never dawned on me 🙂 more to over think and worry LOL 😆

  3. This will be our 1st Post Covid cruise in Dec. I will probably choose morning for the room to be cleaned. We often clean up for dinner(use towels) and we do full showers for bedtime(use towels). I won't re use towels on cruise ship (bathroom too small everyone touching my towel.

How do you or WHERE do i go to swap towels?

I will ask for EXTRA on the 1st day BUT they aren't usually replaced at the higher #, just the standard  count.

Some will say 'just call' or 'catch them in the hall'.... BUT in my experience this is NEVER the case, no one answers and not in hall when i'm around.

Any thoughts?, this will be the only aspect of once a day cleaning that will make my vacation more effort.

I've never reduced or removed tips BUT I GOTTA SAY if i spend time everyday hunting down towels ...... I MAY BECOME ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE.

  4. Has anyone ever been in an ADJOINING signature suite on the Nieuw Amsterdam.

I can't find a picture and I am curious about where the adjoining door is?? do you lose some closet or the vanity.

Trying to get a clear understanding, we would be booking with family, but NOT the same household. If I could see an image of the adjoining door OR hear from a 1st hand account....  I could decide weather to do adjoining or go for JUST nextdoor..

    Thank you

  5. I believe it could be possible that since their called "taxes and FEES" and aren't itemized, the cruise lines may have found a new revenue stream.

I say this BECAUSE when comparing different cruises on different lines with IDENTICAL ports, they have different taxes and fees (example ncl even when the prices are close and comparing only base rates)

So like a ncl vs celebrity, same $, cabin only no packages....until now ncl taxes and FEES have been  significantly higher.

And just like "resort fee(hotels) and checked bags fee(airlines)" All cruise line may be jumping on to the "FEE" creative accounting.

  6. Whether you spend on board exactly like the op or NOT, I don't believe is the op's point. A lot of companies are doing this nowadays, they assume customers are too lazy or too busy to actually do the math for themselves. Something has no valve if included in a package, that I won't use or buy anyways (internet).

Companies make a fortune on these gimmicks; we don't really drink alcohol and could never justify adding the plus to 'just try new drinks'.

We are die hard 'pay as you go'.... no stress, if we think about every purchase then the total bill at the end of my cruise ...is what it is.

  7. Hope this doesn't break the rules about hijacking thread but my question is about water and everyone is mostly talking about water not just  aqua class....

We ONLY drink water, have classic packages, WONT drink can water... Would celebrity let me convert my classic packages to Zero proof  packages that DO include bottled water?? Figure it's a win money wise for then... ps I WONT drink tap water either, encase your suggestion might be remove classic packages and drink tap

  8. It's been a decade since I cruised NCL. Looking to book ncl JOY. I've seen videos on YouTube showing the bed alternately from near the bath and balcony (as most other cruise lines do) BUT I have also seen the configuration, flip flop....ie just because entrance door is on left of cabin, DOESNT always mean bed is by the bathroom.... Meaning to me there seems to be 4 versions and you can't predict the bed placement as usual.

Normally I'd find a video where the bed is where I want and book that exact cabin but available cabins dont match any videos and I can't seem to figure it out.

I'd like a MB with the entrance door is on the left of the cabin and the bed is by the balcony..... like the video by  'millennials at sea' cabin #12270

ANY WAY FOR ME TO FIGURE THIS OUT?

    Ty in advance 😁

  9. I realize this is a long shot and unusual BUT

Does anyone out there have the exact dimensions of the sleeper sofa?

example >> regular twin bed is 75x38

Happy to give more info just didn't want to OVER explain in my question, sometimes  people will actually answer about the supporting info instead of the question.

    Ty in advance

I typically print to PDF and edit as needed so I have one file with multi pages

So if I understand correctly, download statement (8 pages) as pdf, and I can then attach it to the request form? AND if I do that  how do I black our acct #

I had the worst boarding experience of my life in Vancouver.  Stood in line for four hours.  You had better hope that there is only one ship in port the day you leave and that US Customs is functioning well.

DITTO, if your taking the train from seattle go ANYWHERE else until around 1:30 or 2:00, even if your draging your bags around...... it will STILL be better

I got a $2.00 bill in change in a store in St. Kitts in 2019.

I attempted to use it to buy groceries in NY later that year. The Cashier rang a bell and the store Manager approached .She said that I was trying to use a fake bill because there is no such thing as a $2.00:bill.

I wish I could say people's ignorance surprises me..."Ohhh what a world, what a world."
