Have you been reading this thread? All of the vax and double boosted while wearing N95 masks all cruise long stories. Then they still get Covid. What exactly is vaccination of kids going to do? These people aren’t getting this in the kids club. You do realize the current variants run right past prior infection and vaccine protection? Vaccinating everyone isn’t going to stop the spread of the current dominant strains. Royal isn’t going to require little kids to be vaccinated any time soon so it doesn’t matter.
Yes Thank you I have been reading this thread, hence the WHY pre-test Everyone. EVERYONE is catching it anyway

This is what I don't understand why Royal (CDC) is still requiring everyone to pre-test. It doesn't help and is a HUGE pain in the rump.
All kids 6 months and up SHOULD be required to vaccinate now. ( to cruise)

My advice would be change to early dining, go to see matitre d ,before ship sails, explain ... he will probably. Agree to send up food in order to have table
Especially if you tip him a 20 on the spot
But you would have to probably go back on the nights you actually want the food , to order with him

Does anyone know why ncls website says 2 for 1 deposits but is not doing it?
It's a 12 night in a family suite, computer is saying deposit $1500 for 2 people, which would make the regular deposit be $3000 ... on a $5000 trip, 1 and 1/2 years away .... could this be correct?

Ty for posting link, was very interesting.

That is the bottle water industry in a nut shell. And people complain about the price of gas. It is laughable as they drink their bottled water that is 10000 more expensive than safe tap water in the US.
"SAFE TAP WATER" May depend on where you live. We have a water well ,not city water and we don't even cook with it. My in-laws live in town in a neighboring city and the water quality is so poor they also use bottled spring water for most things, NOT even cooking

If we don't take that 10am flight out of SEA we won't get home till after midnight, so we plan on being 1st passengers off ship, self carry bags, we feel the risk is worth it

In my experience cruising to/from Vancouver and living nearby just across the border:
It would be very tight with a very good chance of missing the train. Also in flux are the Canadian Covid entry requirements. If it were me, I would look at later options.
Ovation is sailing from Seattle

I have a 10am flight booked for summer ovation cruise and the airport is farther than train station, so my opinion would be you are ok

We are boosted BUT since royal can't be bothered to include kids over 5 INSTEAD of 12 In their policy, if they require a boosters .... That's the last straw for me ... I'm done with royal
BECAUSE I believe they should require ALL eligible people to have vaccines and/or boosters NOT just people 12 and up

I called and after she made a mock booking THEN she changed it

So they'll require a booster and yet still allow non vaccinated on board? Makes sense.
EXACTLY

Thank you all for your replys. I will contact my big box TA today, I was hoping their website would automatically adjust the date because they don't allow email and hold times are BAD. But if on the off chance they won't update the new date, I'd rather cancel and rebook thru Royal.
-
I was making a mock booking to check for price drops and it seems royal NOW has a final payment in April for our May 2022 cruise.
Would this be available to people who booked thru a TA? Another words if I called my TA tomorrow would they adjust my final payment according? (Instead of Jan 29th) and if they adjust the date, I guess my booking will remain a refundable deposit (just the date changed), correct?

individual guests and guests in non-contracted groups
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY TA BOOKED ME AS A CONTRACTED GROUP ????
Is this a "group rate" thing or something else I need NOT worry about and be on hold for 2 hours to find out.

I'm sure it's just my anal-retentive tendencies, but why use the word ask rather than require. Saying, "we are asking" seems like they are opening themselves up to someone brining a non-vaxxed 5 year old onboard and claiming that they didn't think it was truly a requirement...just a recommendation.
Excellent point

You will pay whatever the nonrenewable rate is at the time that you call
That's what I needed to know THANKS

I paid handsomely for a refundable deposit For our spring 2022 cruise. I have seen on these boards people mentioning changing to nonrefundable deposit just before final payment.
My question is ... How???
When I call my TA is the booking ,
>> completely redone at current prices?
>> Simply changed to nonrefundable and $ , removed from balance due ?
>> Or something else ???

Holland America never again

I'm curious did you stay in a hotel at the departure port. I am obviously implying you might have got the fleas at the hotel ( not to defend the cruise line) I'm just saying.
Your experience does sound very trying, but I don't think HAL could have done must else.
