  1. Necessity is the mother of invention! I borrowed the concierge's stapler when I caught my heel in a hem. Perfect solution until I got back to the cabin and fished out one of my many saved emergency sewing kits!
  2. As is ours and it doesn't begin with any letter mentioned so far!
  3. Forget any Wellness dining, I'll be on holiday. I''d eat every meal in the Pan Asian restaurant if I could. Wonder if they'll do take aways or whether QG galley will recreate a dish or two, as they do on QV for me. 😀
  4. Yes, I counted that. I had Afternoon Tea down in the Queens Room too
  5. Yes, they're both on deck 9. Add Indian restaurant also on deck 9, and Queens room for Afternoon Tea and that makes fifteen.
  6. Fourteen if Afternoon Tea is counted and fifteen if any of the lounges serve snacks! serves snacks
  7. I've found thirteen so far but that included the Gelateria which I guess is an eaterie of sorts.
  8. No Green Tea at the time in the Lido or I would have snaffled a couple of bags there. Add a darn good squeeze of fresh lemon, or lemon slices from the Lido and that's so refreshing.
  9. A full box? That's pushing it. I've asked for a couple of tea bags in the past and was very happy with half a dozen!
  10. On one of our longer World Cruise jaunts, Redbush tea or Rooibos as it was referred to by ''those who knew'' almost became a trading commodity in its own right due to its popularity and of more significance, its scarcity as supplies waned. 🙂
  11. I've bought some lovely floaty silk tops from them too. They go really well with pedal pushers during the day.
  12. Now that, is a DRESS!! I wish I could wear that. My first visit to Lord & Taylor was the Rittenhouse Square store. I've still got two articles of clothing I bought there and that was so long ago. Classic stuff. Just had a look at their web site. Some great long dresses. Next time I visit our Boston friends, I might order online.
  13. We too love ''just being there'' to relax' and have cruised many times on QV in August. I wouldn't say it's quiet [one ''shortie'' we did over August Bank holiday and was slightly manic 🙂 so definitely not quiet] and there are more children onboard but the atmosphere is super and we have yet to be ''bothered'' by the children. In fact, I would say they enhance the cruise.
  14. My mother used to love her ''charity runs'' and being a fabulous seamstress, would alter and adapt whatever she bought into one offs. I have a wonderful photo of my parents at a Cunard World dinner in Hong Kong and I know for a fact her outfit pre tampering was under £10. Although I do have expensive clothes, I also like M&S which I use for some day time basic separates, mostly white jeans and denim cut offs, and camisole tops. Very affordable and easy to co ordinate with other items. One of my favourite long dresses is an M&S Sale item. Not seen it anywhere else and I love it. Looks very expensive and yet I know how little it cost. To Holidayfun141, don't get hung up on clothes. There will always be the be peacocks around and then there will be the rest of us who dress to suit our wallets and more important, our figures which in my case, is most definitely not of the Vogue model variety.
  15. For me, all depends if it's tax free/import free and can be bought cheaper than the UK. I didn't get my Master's in shopping for not being aware of these things!! 😂
  16. and any company which will ship to the UK can be considered as UK.
  17. Let's not get precious. I wear ''stuff''. Some of my Gala wear might even be considered designer by some, but it's still ''stuff''. 🙂
  18. Still too expensive these days. Now the Canadian site, especially when they have their sales pitch...👍
  19. I ''did'' a personal shopper at Bloomingdales but that was in the bad old days when shopping in NY was ''cheap'' for us from the other side of the pond. If ''you do hit Macy's, be sure to go to their visitor's center and get the discount card [you need your passport].
  20. Sensible lady. 👍 Buy when you see and don't wait for when you need! 🙂
  21. I have some wonderful local shops for gala stuff but ''Smart Casual'' clothes are often sourced from Decabana.com. They're a Canadian company but ship to the UK. It helps to know your size though as returns are a bit of a faff. 🙂
  22. My husband hasn't a clue what I pack in my suitcase or what I'll be wearing until we're ready to go out of the cabin together. 🙂 I have a good idea what's in his suitcase as he's usually asked my opinion which jackets go with which trousers and what shirts should he take for when he goes tie less, before packing. I think we look quite acceptable, day or evening but to us we're on holiday and dressing each day, whether for dinner or during the day isn't a precise art. Dress how ''you'' want as long as it's within the advisory codes.
