Different ship, different naming approach and a great idea.

I think I'm out of step but having witnessed the wonderful receptions the people of Liverpool give Cunard ships when they visit on a port of call, and as Liverpool is the birthplace of Cunard, I think it rather appropriate to have the city as a Godmother/father.

We have numerous ones under our belt and I would say the decorous nature of the high age profile precluded unpleasant behaviour. Snoring from the sleepy heads around the ship of an afternoon...yes! 😄

Sadly, there's nothing in the Royal Diary for a Liverpool visit today so unless it's top secret, Bell Boy might be onto something.

Sadly Pushpit, given some of the behaviour we saw and heard about on our cruise, nothing surprises me.

Disembark without grounds and there's a law suit ready to be filed and although I assume you know the background to all this, I don't so will leave it at that.

If legally, Cunard can not stop 'them' from roaming around then their hands are tied, whatever anyone might say and as 'they' are probably not nasty enough to be disembarked, to be 'rewarded' with such an upgrade [ship not full obviously] does seem to be unfair to those who would do the right thing.

Let's hope so. The box would seem to be at least a Jeraboam which is a lot of glass. I wonder is some kind of glass scoring is involved before the smash!

I wish I'd taken a photograph of the pink oriental lilies on display for the last few days of the Canary cruise. The perfume was wonderful and the display, even more so. Cunard certainly have knack with their atrium floral displays.

There is, or was theatre signage, no issue about that. However the signs could do with being more prominent with 'reminders' in the daily programme that they are reserved for wheelchair users and their companion. Edit I would add arriving early to make sure of being seated in the appropriate areas is nothing new as we have been doing this for years on Queen Victoria. The problem really arises for those who don't have the facility to dine at a time to facilitate early arrival. On the 10th May cruise we were quite surprised at the number of wheelchair and scooter users and also, the infirm. We haven't come across so many on our previous Cunard cruises and to give Cunard their due, not all wheelchair users can be accommodated but it would seriously help if non wheelchair users didn't take up the companion spaces given.

The snags will only be given attention if enough of us point them out. I am keeping my fingers crossed our resident accessible cabin member Selbourne will be keeping a list, checking it twice and will keep on at 'the managers' until he has had a meeting and has decent feedback, positive and/or negative. Edit Still think some kind of reminder that wheelchair spaces plus the seat adjacent are for wheelchair users and their companion should be given a [daily] slot in the daily programme!

It isn't awful, it's different and to those of us who are used to QE/QV lounge, a tad disappointing. However, a plus, the chairs are NOT uncomfortable, as I thought they'd be although a Senior Hoist ought to be on stand by for a couple of the sofas and the fact the lounge is full pre lunch and dinner shows it's popular. Just not for us. Maybe next time.

Not us although I have the distinct impression some of my comments, positive and the one or two negative thoughts will be fed back to the higher up suits so that will do for me. 🙂 I will see if any changes will have been made later on in the year.

We took the train into Bruges well before Covid and it worked well but wouldn't do it now. It's a good ten to fifteen minute walk over cobbled /uneven streets and pavements. We would bear the cost of a taxi. Quicker, reliable and definitely more a central drop off/pick up.

I assumed that but being a relatively Cunard newbie I use the term 'G'riller. Less 'ruthless'.

Maybe by choice, I would go for the more subdued decor of the Vistas and I agree on the pure logistics walking around and preference for the smaller ship, and the Grills area. We will get used to QA, we have to but I hope Cunard bring QV back to S'ton for summer '27!

The central bed layout is similar to that of the deck 7 1s on QV. If the door designs are as QA's 2s, the interior doors are of the pocket design which close/open on incredibly strong magnetic catches. So strong, I thought we were captives in the bedroom on the first morning as I couldn't open the door without brute strength!😀 I will be able to post photos next year,

By Gorilla, I am assuming it's also the term 'G'riller'. Our final view is that QA IS different from the other Cunard ships. That's not necessarily a bad thing but she's not a Cunard ship in the traditional sense and she does have a couple of decidedly questionable 'design' features. As I have said, we would not choose to sail on her over the Vistas if they were sailing from Southampton but as a needs must, she's fine.

We were astonished how quiet our cabin was, creak wise! Exterior of our cabin human sounds, zero.

Correct, and not useable in the medical centre either, as I found out last year!

Still hoping for The Princess Royal!

That is a real bummer and I'm really sorry for you. The Inner and Outer Hebrides made for spectacular scenic cruising on the most perfect day ever, last year. Hope you get some sort of explanation.

Think we were on the same itinerary and and agree. In fact three of our Liverpool calls have had starboard side moored up.
