  1. I will let our friends know so they can enquire. Thanks
  2. Hey, I've done two QM2 insides as a solo, with friends and had the best nights of sleep ever, on a ship! 😀
  3. Thank you. I nearly put 'asking for a friend' but that is often a misused phrase indicating personal interest now .😀 We would book as one booking in order to be sure of the cabin so I have zero knowledge of this. Thanks again and any more input from others, gratefully received.
  4. Do the staff help facilitate a change of cabins for two separately booked cruises on a b2b which involves the change?
  5. Don't you just love our rail and road systems. Not. ☹️ Might only be a shortie, but I always stay the night in S'ton, just in case there are leaves on the line or a Police incident shuts an arterial road etc. Enjoy the vacation rakkor, on my very favourite ship. 👍
  6. I have had nightmares about that and am absolutely paranoid with the sequestering bit! For both of us!😀
  7. Or, when in a large cabin, do as I do and start consolidating the day before and go over every drawer, cupboard and work surface with a forensic eye! Oh and check the safe three times just before you leave! ☹️ 👍
  8. I agree, but will Cunard also agree. Hopefully, we will get to know. This is all assuming the jewellery will be in lost/left property. Fingers crossed it is.
  9. I think you'll find we are in agreement but unfortunately our thoughts on the subject might not be enough to sway Cunard to open the box and find the earrings if they don't feel it's appropriate.
  10. I agree with you but Cunard, if following common practise will be iffy about earrings. Not a lot one can do except learn from this.
  11. Crazy or not, the website states what's returnable and what's not for hygiene reasons and earrings [open box to find out what's inside?] could fall into this category through pedantry or just following guidelines. Many shops will only refund on earrings if faulty or through the shop's goodwill if earrings still in shop bought condition i.e not worn etc.
  12. Not my idea of Gala wear, but if some Cunard passengers are going to go down the fancy dress route for one or two Gala evenings, maybe a few hat wearers will assume their headgear is an OK accessory to be worn during dinner. Hopefully, the M'ds will continue to ask for the removal of any hats, baseball or fedoras.
  13. and my husband can't wear his beautiful calf leather Church's loafers any more and has to wear what we consider casual wear, although not trainers. Not his fault Guv!
  14. I think Cunard reality is often different from 'Cunard advised' and it helps to give the reality check and I try and give the reality.
  15. I think it's kind of convenient to do at one's convenience. Also, to give a time scale, typical or not, is giving incorrect info for, say. tony s who would like to have the late afternoon in town!
  16. Is there a set time for a muster check in. or even the order in which to watch the video? First cruise this year, we checked our cards for a scan as we boarded as it was convenient, then went for lunch. Second cruise, I moseyed on down just after lunch with both our cards and to be honest, don't recall actually sitting down to watch the safety video on the TV but I'm sure we caught the gist of it.
  17. Took one min. to have cruise card scanned so shouldn't interfere with any late afternoon plans afterwards.
  18. As long as any cabin you want will still be available. If you have specific cabins in mind, it's best to book as soon as itineraries are released. You lose out on the onboard booking perks, but you're guaranteed the cabin you want.
  19. Taking a hairdryer all depends on your needs.and hair style. I have a Dyson at home [Christmas present, wouldn't have dreamt of spending that amount on myself] but see no need to hike it onto QV. I have thick, below shoulder hair and the in drawer dryer is fine. Slower process obviously but absolutely fine to dry my hair [straight] to be finished off with GHDs.and so unless the dryers in other cabins are different [and they are in QV Q1s], then the provided in drawer hair dryers are more than adequate.
  20. I know this doesn’t apply to newbie202020, but for a couple with loyalty internet credit each, it’s worth calculating the cost of buying one voyage plan ( for us $252 utilising one Diamond credit of $ 135) or on a per day basis at $24 per day but using two Diamond credits of $135, bearing in mind two devices can use the plan as long as only one device is logged in at any one time. Even my ropey maths can work that one out! 🙂
  21. Pushpit So Premium Voyage is $24 per day in advance and $36 onboard; Essential Voyage is $18 per day in advance and $24 on board. On my personaliser for a 14 night cruise, it has this eg $36 Premium is for a 24hr plan on a per day basis and $24 is the per day pricing for a 14 night Voyage Plan Premium Voyage Plan. $336.00pp per voyage $24.00pp per day 24-hour plans are available on board: $36.00pp per day Essential Voyage Plan. $252.00pp per voyage $18.00pp per day 24-hour plans are available on board: $24.00pp per day
  22. You can book a cruise with a low deposit and transfer it once to another cruise of equal or greater value. You can't 'bank' a deposit, as such if that's what you were asking.
  23. I saw this and thought 'that's for me' but I can only reply as far as QG cabins are concerned so I'll leave it unless advised otherwise. What I will say is the Penhaligon Quercus product [in all cabins but might have to ask for conditioner/body lotion ] is highly perfumed and if you have any skin allergies, steer clear and ask for tablet soap. I take my own shampoo to avoid any skin contact with the perfumed shampoo [which is lovely by the way], and the conditioner for what it's worth, is useless for my hair so I take my own. Body lotion is also a bit thin but might be OK. I again bring my own. Again, a QG answer but I have thick hair and have never seen the need to bring my own hairdryer.
  24. When trailing youngsters around for whom a McD is a huge treat, we just had to try a lobster roll. As I said, once! 😄
  25. We have 'done' West Coast [LA and SF] , through the canal and back to S'ton as part of the World cruise. Victoria is doing the reverse of our Southern route. i.e. S'ton through the canal to SF, via Bermuda and Aruba, FL and Port Canaveral Jan'24 and a similar TA routing Mar'25 except the ship is approaching the canal; via S. America and on to the southern route to S'ton, , if that helps.
