  1. I am so very sorry to hear about Alf! It's shocking and devastating when a pet passes away suddenly at a young age. We lost our Italian (miniature) greyhound suddenly in 2021, and had to cancel a cruise we had scheduled on the Constellation (also because Covid/Omicron was very active). Alf was lucky to have been loved so much in your parents home. Condolences to all who loved him.
  2. If X removes foot stools from balconies ... 🙄
  3. From our SV stays on Edge I can't think of what you would tie it to, and doubtful it would be allowed for safety reasons.
  4. We've never run into that. Usually have seen fewer than 20 people there with table almost untouched.
  5. Same here. Upgrade is all they have to say, although we were then around corner from stairwell and directly across from crew utility room. Their so-called upgrade was from slightly forward to mid-ship which we don't care about.
  6. Thank you so very much for the comprehensive trip report! Hope it was an outstanding trip for you and your wife.
  7. Absolutely! And every other libation 😊
  8. So happy to follow you two on these cruises and enjoy your great posts! Safe travels and wonderful (and warm) cruising!
  9. We're in a C2 on 9 next January so especially looking forward to your Live. Thanks for doing, and have a great cruise!
  10. We were on Apex in January also and didn't see anyone in tux, suit or fancy dress for evening chic. In fact didn't see any special effort on evening chic nights. When we first started cruising and while he was on active duty, DH wore his Navy mess dress for formal evenings a while few times. He got tired of being asked "Captain, what is the weather tomorrow, etc." He is a retired Navy captain 😊. He went to suits, now a sport coat and tie.
  11. We were marked by our TA no upgrade but received an upgrade with no notification. I happened to notice our cabin had changed. TA tried to get it back but they said it would take three days. Of course in that time our original cabin was sold and they would not move those customers. Once onboard we found our cabin was across the hall from crew utility room AND a passenger stairwell. When we talked to the Captain's Club person she said obviously our box wasn't checked no upgrade. Princess will do as they wish.
  12. Lol, you're having a hard time getting over those chickpeas.
  13. On E class we always had Elite happy hour at Cafe Al Bacio. Excluded fleet wide?
  14. There are persistent (and fairly recent) reports of sewage smell in aft cabins of Caribbean Princess which we noticed in May 2022. Luckily, our cabin was forward. We're elite on both Princess and X, booked on Sun Princess in 2025 but prob wouldn't sail on Caribbean Princess again. Adding we did like the extra space of the mini suite.
  15. Yes. We bring water bottles and either Gatorade powder or electrolyte powder drink mix in the little stick packets.
  16. The reserve mini suite has the additional interior cabin space, second tv and use of reserve dining room. The reserve cabana mini suite has an exterior room as additional space and use of reserve cabana deck. Sorry if my reply was unclear -- wasn't suggesting the reserve cabana mini suite.
  17. We're booked on Sun Princess next January in a reserve cabana mini suite. It will give you additional cabin space, a second tv, reserve dining room and maybe reserve deck space (can't remember if that's only for reserve cabana or all reserve minis). Hard to say now what it will be like, but we enjoyed the additional space of a mini site previously on Princess. Although we now cruise exclusively on X, we are Elite also on Princess so there are a few additional bens.
  18. Eye mask. They make lovely silk ones plus many other variations.
  19. Although it's not used for dining except for Magic Carpet dinners which may or may not be held during a cruise, although you can carry in a plate from Spa Cafe, Mast Grill or OVC during the day. Primarily a bar during the day, or for tendering in tender ports.
  20. I couldn't agree more. We were on Apex this month and no one dressed up for chic night. Lots of slobs everywhere, overflowing thong bikini wearer in Oceanview never told to cover up (also wet, shirtless slob getting drink at Segundo Al Bacio in OVC).
  21. We spent a seven night Caribbean cruise and a fourteen B2B Med cruise on the Edge, cabin 10271 in March and August/September 2022. There was NO noise, despite a few windy days in the Med. The only thing I didn't like was the bed by the verandah, I prefer the couch and open space by the verandah. Personal preference.
  22. She's doing a daily post/story if you follow her on Instagram.
  23. Don't know exactly. There were lots of comped gamblers on our cruise. Maybe something in conjunction with his regular casino (mentioned his regular status at casino near his home)? We were surprised to hear air, hotel (Hard Rock) and cruise all covered.
