  1. The Outriggers Bar is always my go-to for an early a.m. mimosa with breakfast (or in my husband's case, a shot of Bailey's for his coffee). But if you're not going to the buffet, Good Spirits is definitely an easier option. You've probably already figured out that Princess Live Cafe also has the butter pecan latte and line is usually shorter.
  2. I was hoping that was how it would work. We're boarding Enchanted next weekend!. I'll try to report on how it works out at GiGi's and O'Malley's.
  3. We have Premier pkg but we'd never be able to eat 2 prix fixe menus at Alfredo's. Usually, we would each order an appetizer/salad, split one pizza and no dessert. So I'll be wasting food by ordering a free prix fixe menu. But I don't want to pay $22 when we get the prix menu for free. That's a shame.
  4. I feel for the crew that have to deal with implementing these changes in such a short time frame. These changes will not be a popular decision and they'll bear some of the vitriol I'm afraid. Regarding Vines, I think that news release is just another example of someone not knowing what they're talking about. Vines hasn't offered any menu ever and the sushi they used to give out for free has also been eliminated (you're lucky to get some nuts/snack mix). I think the PR person just went through the list of casual dining options 🙄 We have Premier on upcoming (8/12!) cruise so I guess we're set. I think it's chintzy to charge for using App to order food for Standard fare psgrs. I never use it but that's just personal preference (I'm impatient! LOL!)
  5. Now the news is reporting that Acropolis workers are planning on going on "strike" tomorrow (during certain hours) to protest having to work in the extreme heat. https://greekreporter.com/2023/07/19/acropolis-athens-heatwave-strike/
  6. Just saw this update on the Acropolis and Athen's attempt to manage the crowds this summer. https://greekreporter.com/2023/07/11/acropolis-crowds-time-slots-e-ticketing/
  7. Just read that the Acropolis is starting a timed ticket entry beginning in two weeks or so. https://greekreporter.com/2023/07/11/acropolis-crowds-time-slots-e-ticketing/ We have a tour scheduled so hopefully the tour operator will manage that. I may drop them an email to make sure.
  8. Exact same thing happened to us. And the app won't let us cancel the reservation now that they've charged us. We're also planning on going straight to Passenger Services the minute we board and hopefully get an OBC refunded to our folio.
  9. Appreciate the info and the event listings from last week! We will be on the 8/12 sailing so this gives us an idea of what to expect for the ATH-BCN itinerary. So there was only one formal night (the first sea day)? Typically, there's another "dress to impress" night but all the other days say "smart casual." That may convince my husband not to pack a sports coat for the trip. Our rule of thumb is if you're not going to wear an item at least two times, don't pack it. Believe it or not, I'm the light packer and he's the one who wants to bring the kitchen sink with us! LOL!
  10. I too am confused why I don't have ability to cancel the specialty dining. I can cancel main dining reservations just fine. Appreciate all of the feedback.
  11. Thanks for the advice! I think we'll just go with option 2 and talk to guest services once onboard. I'm fine with using as OBC credit - was going to spend money in casino anyway! 🙂
  12. The app won't let me cancel or revise in any way. I guess because it's been charged?
  13. I booked our two specialty dining dinners (free with Premier) for our Aug cruise through the app but it only gave me credit for one person. And stupidly I paid for the other person (argh) - I thought they wouldn't charge card immediately - they did. So now I'm out over $75 and trying to figure out the best way to get my money back from Princess. Do I take proof of the charge to guest services and just get OBC? Or call Princess customer service prior to cruise to get it sorted?
  14. No, they don't allow smoking. And frankly, I never saw them seating anyone out there when we were on last December in the Caribbean. So I wouldn't worry about it.
  15. I would venture a guess that the new Irish pub on Enchanted - O'Malley's - would certainly have Guiness (draft) onboard. Maybe someone else can confirm.
  16. That sounds like it's just the normal Salty Dog Grill then (which has had tacos etc for a while now- at least on the Royal class ships). The description of the new "Cafe" from the recent drydock news made it sound like they were creating a special seating area and expanded menu. Curious why they'd hype something that already existed.
  17. Thanks. I'm referring to Salty Dog Cafe, not the Gastropub (that was recently removed on Enchanted and replaced with O'Malley's Pub). This is from Princess website: This casual top deck eatery takes its name from the famous venue in the resort town of Hilton Head Island, SC. Enjoy original menu items from the cafe like the prime burger and chicken strip basket – along with Princess favorites like hot dogs and chicken sandwiches. Uncover the legend of Jake, the iconic dog in the yellow hat, and pick up some branded merch too.
  18. The Enchanted was supposedly getting a revamped Salty Dog Cafe on the Lido deck during dry dock. Now that the ship is back in service, does anyone on board have info on this update? Just curious what that looks like? Is it just the Grill expanded?
  19. I've been having issues as well. Had some times already booked. Now not all of my (Premier Pkg) specialty dining credits are showing up when I went to book those. Booked the specialty venue but would only credit me for one guest. So now I'm out $39 (charged me right away) until I can get sorted out (I guess onboard?) And now it won't give me option to cancel any reservation. I'm not typically one to fuss about the app but it's been very glitchy lately. And I have also gotten the "Sorry none available" message (if that wasn't clear).
  20. My guess is they are just renaming GiGi's to Alfredo's, like the other Royal Class ships. It's the same restaurant/menu so I never understood why they called it something different to begin with.
  21. I had Bistro Sur La Mer booked for embarkation night of August 12th cruise. It no longer shows up in my app. And it shows "Catch by Rudi" but no option to book it. So that change seems to be confirmed.
  22. I'm also interested (want to get as much benefit from my Premier pkg as I can!) If you look at recent trip threads and copies of Event Listings posted (almost called it Patters 🙂), you can see that some stretching/yoga classes are @ 9 am and some (pure barre) are later in the afternoon. I guess it would be ship/staff dependent.
  23. Yes. The Plus package includes all alcoholic drinks up to $15. The Premier pkg includes all alcoholic drinks up to $20.
  24. I hear you. I just prefer the more eclectic selections in Vines by the glass (we will have Premier Pkg this cruise), plus the bartenders are typically so fun and knowledgeable. In December, on Sky, I was lamenting that the updated Vines menu did not have the Chablis anymore, and the bartender suggested a crisp Vermentino from Sardinia, which I ended up loving. Doubt that other bars and main dining had that listed by the glass. Again, I'll survive and enjoy myself immensely regardless! Sorry to get this thread off track. Can't wait to what changes will be made next month to Enchanted.
  25. Thanks for the update. Going to be on in August and, as a wine drinker, was crossing my fingers for Vines. Seems odd they'd just put a different restaurant/menu entirely in such a short time period but we shall see. Had no interest in Salty Dog. The casino bar removal makes sense. Hoping some place on board has some different & upgraded wine choices but since we'll be cruising in Europe, I'm sure I'll survive! 🙂
