  1. I gur mine. Only 2038 to the nexit tier. 🤣 I keep hoping that Celebrity will add a new level in between to hook us.
  2. A confused agent. I would have asked for a supervisor if I did not have my passport. If I was traveling to Puerto Rico and it was not for a cruise I would not have had my passport since it is a US territory. .
  3. That is one thing we agree on. Not only lost or stolen. Getting it damaged.
  4. For the mansions we took one of the trolly tours. The transit center was a short walk from the through tender port. Bought a ticket there. It was either 3 or 4 hours. Afterwards do the cliff walk. There is also a bus you can hop on and off for DIY. I liked getting the tour with the guide telling me about the mansions. No need to rent a car. Your post should be moved to the Canada/New England board. Scroll through that board there and you will find info.
  5. Because it is based on her husband looking. She didn’t say her husband was uncomfortable. As far as Muslims if they go to the beach in the Caribbean or the pool on a ship they are going to see skimpy clothes. I have no idea if that would make Muslims uncomfortable. Certainly you are not saying that there should be a rule in western countries that skimpy clothing should not be allowed since Muslims might be uncomfortable? Same in the MDR. Some may be uncomfortable with certain dress but that does not mean there is or should be a rule.
  6. The only time I ever order a second entry is one the first one I ordered was not good. I neve had much of the first entry. Unfortunately that happened too often on Celebrity. I have had too desserts. I would order a dessert item plus ice cream.
  7. I think smart shorts are going to be allowed no matter what a sign says or is on a website. The fashion police are going to be disapointed if they think there won't be some passngers in the MDR wearing shorts. The real question is will Celebrity make it official that shorts are allowed.
  8. You are okay with a passport card for ID for the cruise but if you have an emergency on the cruise you won’t be able to fly back with it. You will have to get a temporary or emergency passport. A passport is recommended.
  9. I don't blame crew for not returning after the way they were treated at the outbreak of the pandemic. Probably will be difficult to recruit crew for a while yet unless they give really good offers.
  10. Wrong. REAL ID has never been required to fly.
  11. US citizens can use a drivers license as ID to fly to Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is a US territory.
  12. They may have been thinking OP needed a Real ID to fly to San Juan for the cruise.
  13. Real ID has nothing to do with cruises but FYI the Real ID deadline has been extended to May 07. 2025.
  14. Do you think she lets him of to the beach or the pool?
  15. Her husband broke her rule and looked so it is Princess's fault.
  16. People have called to complain about reduced dinner service in the Oceanview Cafe where shorts are allowed and were told they can wear shorts in the MDR. That is what this thread is about. Do you think Celebrity reps would give out BS ? Would not surprise me but maybe they were telling what will be a new policy. So will you be booking with another cruise line if shorts are allowed in the MDR? I think your reply was condescending.
  17. I agree that there is no proof. Yet.....What someone says on the phone is not proof. I do believe that it may be relaxed or enfocement of no shorts ignored. So I await actual onboard reports. I don't care if shorts are permitted or not. Been on cruise lines where it is permitted and has had neither a negative or positive effect on me. It was what it was. It is silly to be bothered by people wearing shorts in the MDR. I have been at tables where someone was wearing shorts and I did not even notice until they stood up at the end of dinner.
  18. If there were any cause and effect it was the other way around. As the mainstream cruise lines cut the food quality people didn’t see the point of dressing up special.
  19. Yes but many are more comfortable in shorts. In this day and age it seems old fashioned to not allow nice shorts. It wouldn't bother me. I have been on cruise lines that allow shorts and it did not bother me or effect me. I think there is a strong case if the Oceanview is no longer suitable as a casual alternative for allowing shorts in the MDR. However I am not convinced that the cutbacks have crossed that line.
  20. Not me. I won't be wearing shorts at dinner in the MDR. But when it is chilly in a restaurant the bottom does not bother me only the top. I see plenty of women wearing dresses or skirts so I tdon't hink the too chilly will disuade those who prefer shorts if it is allowed.
  21. Was that pre-covid or post-covid? Several cruise lines stopped allowing that. As has been mentioned they need to contact NCL for approval.
  22. They have not announced any change to the dress requests. Is there any change on the website? Wouldn't they post any reviion there? As you can see the more traditional cruisers expect no shorts and Connie I expect draws a more traditional Celebrity demographic.
  23. That will be interesting but next week might not be enough time.
  24. I live in Cowtown. I wear usually long pants in the winter. Except today it was 84 degrees. I am wearing shorts.
  25. A lot of time reps on the phone will tell you what you want to hear. Time will tell if that is the reality.
