  1. You kindly showed me the work around for Celebrity excursions, but I couldn't get it to work today for Eclipse on April 7, 2024. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help! https://www.celebritycruises.com/account/cruise-planner/category/beverage?bookingId=0000000&shipCode=EC&sailDate=20240407
  2. Years ago, we dined in MTD on BOS and it was great when they had a portion of the top floor of the MDR carved out; however, my understanding is that MTD now fills empty tables in between the traditional times. I've read that there are very long waiting times even with reservations. So with the waits and the complaints of the MDR food, we purchased the Unlimited Dining Package for our upcoming JOS cruise so we can enjoy ourselves. It's a pity that RCCL made MTD worse and that we chose to purchase a dining package after we're already paying for meals.
  3. We just returned from 19 days on Reflection in a suite and the food was as described by RCCL cruisers and we dined in Luminae (plus the MDR menu). We just cancelled all of our 2024 Celebrity cruises.
  4. Thanks for replying. The Sky deck plans didn't reflect the handicap icon for the longest time after we sailed and I hadn't checked recently. Thanks again and now I feel more comfortable with the Regal cabin. 🙏
  5. We sailed on the Sky Princess in May 2023 right after the dry dock and without any notification, the Penthouse R616 was modified to a partial handicap cabin with heavy grab bars and a foldable bench in the shower which took up some room. I believe the Regal was dry docked in 2022 and I wanted to know if anyone who has stayed in R616 since the dry dock can comment if it was modified to a partial handicap cabin. The sailing we just booked only had 1 penthouse available and it was R616. Any info would be appreciated.
  6. I haven't tried plugging the HDMI in prior to powering up the TV. I'll try that next time. I think I'll buy the genuine Apple USB-C to HDMI adapter as a back up and if it doesn't work, I'll just return it. My HDMI cord is: Capshi 8K HDMI Cables 2.1 Long, 15ft High Speed 48Gbps, 8K@60Hz, 4K@120Hz, 2K@240Hz, 165Hz, 144Hz, HDCP 2.2&2.3, eARC, HDR, Ethernet, Braided Cord for UHD TV, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Monitor, PC. Thanks for your advice!
  7. When I went to source after plugging my iphone into HDMI 2, the HDMI 2 showed up with my Iphone and worked perfectly. Then I unplugged it and used the generic adapter with my Ipad and plugged it into HDMI 2...HDMI 2 did not indicate any device hooked up.
  8. Hello! I was wondering if you could help me. I have read many of your posts re hooking up devices to the Celebrity tv. I've never had a problem viewing stream/downloaded shows until I tried to use our newer Ipads on our most recent Sky Princess and Celebrity Reflection cruises. I'm able to hook up my Iphone 13 Pro with my Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter as usual with no problems. DH downloaded some shows on both of our Ipads: Ipad Pro (20 21 3rd Gen) and Ipad (2022 10th Gen), both of which use a USB-C connector. I purchased a generic "Upgrow USB C to HDMI Adapter" from Amazon which works perfectly when I tested the devices on several of my home tvs before sailing and my DS has no problems traveling in the US and using this adapter. However, on both cruises, neither ship tv would acknowledge our Ipad connections when I used our universal remote to change the HDMI port on the tv. The tvs would acknowledge my iphone and I was able to change the HDMI. Have you tried to hook up a device with a USB-C to HDMI adapter? Could it be that I wasn't using an actual Apple adapter? I would appreciate any help.
  9. We just returned from 19 days in a suite on Celebrity and found the new Luminae (Suite Dining Room) and MDR menus options were disappointing...so much that we're rethinking our future Celebrity cruises. It's been a while since sailing on RCCL and with our upcoming JOS sailing, we purchased the UDP after all of the negative MDR menu comments and the extended MTD wait time. It's so disappointing as we've been loyal to RCCL (D+) and Celebrity (Elite+). FYI: we were surprisingly happy on our May Princess cruise with the CC dining and menu selection...after JOS, we'll be back to Princess.
  10. It's been a while since we've sailed on an older ship like Jewel of the Seas and can't remember if the Concierge Host contacts Suite Guests with specialty dining and other requests a week before sailing like on the larger ships. Any info would be appreciated.
  11. Hello! We were B2B on the Sept 30th & Oct 9th sailings and we too ordered the spaghetti bolognese from the children's menus on several nights. We have sailed on 46 cruises with (RCCL D+, Princess Elite & Celebrity Elite+) and have never been so disappointed in the food quality and selections. We always sail in a suite & dine in Luminae & also order off the MDR menu. We struggled to find something to eat due to the horrible options (i.e. Pig's Feet Carpaccio appetizer....really?) We spoke with numerous other cruisers who were also dissatisfied with the options. There were few salad appetizers & we got tired of the Cesear Salad. DH complained that the soups were watered down & no longer creamy. Also, we had read on several Reflection Live threads that the ship had some vibrations near the aft of the ship, but we weren't concerned since our cabin was mid-ship on Deck 12; however, it vibrated for 19 days straight while in port and sailing. This made it difficult to sleep & the Retreat Concierge said she would have offered us another cabin, but the sailing was sold out. DH was surprised that I booked the "Pocono Vibrating Bed" package. A ship staff came to our cabin & could feel the vibrations in the hallway outside our cabin. He tried to make excuses, but we have never experienced vibrations lilke this. Needless to say, we will be cancelling all of our 2024 Celebrity cruises & moving on.
  12. You are correct! I've just never travelled anywhere land or sea without a passport as I feel more comfortable with unforsceen issues.
  13. We were on the Sky in May and my Iphone with a lightning connection HDMI adapter worked as always on the tv, but my new Ipad with the USB-C connection HDMI adapter wouldn't work. I tested my Ipad at home and it worked perfectly, but the Princess IT tech couldn't get it to work.
  14. True - you can "what if" any scenario, but Bencruisin said "we've been cruising for decades"...why let your passport expire. You're excited to go on the cruise, paying $9,000, travel time & expenses, packing and then get turned away...followed up by filing claims and dealing with RCCL.
  15. Bottom line...always be prepared to sail any cruise line at a whim - so renew your passport at least 7 months prior to sailing! So you can enjoy your cruise and alleviate all of the headaches Bencruisein experienced and the disappointment after all the packing, travelling and the excitement of a cruise...then you go back home.
  16. Technically your month expired passport was not valid to cruise for the last 7 months since you're required to have 6 months left on a passport to cruise. Plus I guess it takes about a month to get a new passport. Ours expire in 01-26 so my PC calendar has a event in 01-25 to start thinking about photos and getting forms together. Everyone - MARK YOUR CALENDAR so this doesn't happen to you!
  17. In the past, if I wanted a coffee or something I just called my Butler. With the Retreat Host, Head Butler and Retreat Team...who do I call?
  18. I bring All Free & Clear Pods...Tide also makes Free & Gentle Pods. We get free laundry since we sail in a suite, but after our last cruise...I'm going back to doing my own laundry. We brought brand new crew socks on our last cruise and after the 2 weeks, they looked like they were a year old since they have industrial washers.
  19. We've been sailing on X since 2015 in a suite and we've always had a fancy push that displayed various flavors of French macarons and different kinds of chocolates on Chic nights. I always put a baggie in my purse on Chic night to bring some macarons back to the cabin for later.
  20. I traded the mini bar for a bottle of wine and shared it with a friend.
  21. I received a call from Princess Guest Relations yesterday in response to an email I sent regarding various Suite/Elite/Plus Package questions when booking an Elite-Suite on a single 21 day cruise that consists of 3 7-day segments. 1 - Mini-bar set up - we will receive 6 total (2 per segment) 2 - Suite Specialty Dinner - we will 3 dinners (1 per segment) 3 - "New Casual Dining Meals" in the Plus Package - only 2 for the entire cruise 4 - Medallion shipping - free with Plus Package 5 - Suite Cabin without Plus Package - $14.99 1- time charge for OceanNow Delivery app $5 per telephone order
  22. Thanks for the info ....that sounded horrendous for your friend. I plan to ask our GP for Acetazolamid prior to departure.
  23. Did you receive the complimentary bottle of wine/sparkling wine on embarkation day? Thanks for all the info as we're sailing on the Reflection next month.
  24. I've only dined in Luminae, but ordered from the MDR menu numerous times and we were happy with the entrees. On Princess, we were in Club Class dining (the new Reserve) and were pleased with the meals so much that we'll be back on Princess in Jan.
  25. Have you looked at Princess lately....if you don't get the Plus or Premium packages you are charged for room service and some of the casual restaurants like Alfredo's pizza. We were on the Sky in May and dined in Alfredo's for lunch numerous times, but now our Plus package allows 2 free pre fixe meals per cruise....after the 2, I believe the pizzas are $12 each. It seems like everyone is getting on the nickle and dime you game.
