  1. This is a Saturday to Saturday cruise? If so then Sunday and either Wed. or Thurs. 5 o'clock all-aboard is not to late to have it be a Dressy night. Is Thursday by any chance Half Moon Cay?
  2. Laughing with you, not at you! I couldn't believe it either, and I did all of our washing out by hand on first transAtlantic (and Mediterranean -- 26 days plus travel). ETA: @kazu, @Crew News, and others did convince me!
  3. Yes, although my intention is to use separate bags for different handling. But if you are using "by the bag" rate, you can circle the special care items. ETA: "Hang dry" will take an extra day to get back to you, after it spends the alloted time in the circulating air room.
  4. Note that @Vict0riann is a 5* Mariner. There is no internet discount for 3* (or any other star, only 5s). This page: https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/us/onboard-packages/cruise-ship-wifi Used to give 7-day package prices for Surf and Premium. It has been changed! and quite recently. Premium on board will be 125% more than the pre-cruise price, or $195. My experience has been that the 20% discounted Premium is only a little more than the non-discounted Surf. So figure $12/day on board. Pretty sure (my only evidence is the OLD table from when there were three levels available) the packages are pro-rated on a curve, but they do go down each day. Or you can buy one day only for $30 Surf, $35 Premium.
  5. Washing and pressing. Special care requests are followed.
  6. @Sea Hag To request a new PCC, call the number you have for the PCC, but don't put in an extension. Listen to the menu until you get to the Live Person option. Ask for a supervisor. I hate the phone with a burning passion, if that is any comfort!
  7. My PCC is happy to get my emails, letting her work on my issues on her time, then calling me to confirm on a line I assume is recorded.
  8. Welcome to Cruise Critic! Glad you got an answer and that it was the one you wanted! Like StollyBolly said, just make sure the ship's personnel know that you are leaving early. Including your cabin stewards! but not only them... Someone higher up...
  9. We had the similar package on RCI (Rhapsody OTS, a one-third smaller ship than the Pinnacle Class) and yes it was a pain, both to keep them with us and to have to take them to the machine(s) -- and one was centrally located I believe.
  10. Scott -- I think it's lovely that you are reaching out for your bride! May I suggest you shop in a couple of Houston's department stores. Maybe Dillard's and Macy's? For some ideas at least. The real answer is Something She Is Comfortable In! -- Nothing she has to tug at, for example. She should think about neckline, sleeves, length of gown (maxi/midi/knee), and perhaps about what shoe might be necessary. Also, a "LBD", doesn't have to be BLACK! Some ladies look better in a different plain color, especially as we age. Black without a scarf, can suck the color out of my face, for example. Remember to have photos taken! Let the ship's photographer(s) take plenty (I've heard they get paid by the shot, not the sale), then wait for them to be posted to pick out the best!
  11. Holland America still has Future Cruise Deposits in increment of $100, bought on board. I don't know if there is a limit of 3 per person, but they are used instead of the full deposit (!) according to the length of the cruise, one, two, or three (per person) to book a cruise.
  12. We may have only lost the Welcome Back, for booking the original cruise shortly after returning from the one we bought the FCDs on.
  13. I swear we did when we moved from a 24-day R/T Boston to the 35-day Voyage of the Vikings also R/T Boston... will have to check Booking Confirmations.
  14. Hi Wallflower! Where are you sailing? Sundress is (1) acceptable, and (2) common on warm weather cruises. Europe may be dressier. I wear shiny leggings and a sparkly top wherever! Men cannot wear tee shirts to MDR -- must be collared shirt. I don't have the requirements handy but it may be that jeans are not acceptable for either sex. Others will be along to quote the dress codes, I believe.
  15. Welcome to Cruise Critic! I have not sailed on Celebrity, but a strategy that sometimes works is to flag down a crewmember and ask them to find you a place for four. It may end up being four seats at a six-top, but at least you will be seating together.
  16. Here, thanks to Roger @Crew News, is a recent Laundry List: https://rogerjett-photography.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Laundry-Price-List.pdf Prices range from $9 (two-piece men's suit) to $10.25 (three-piece suit), with Tuxedo in-between. Eco-drycleaning includes pressing. I do not have any first-hand experience, but Holland America is known (if not renowned) for their exemplary laundry service! I would have no qualms about using the service... if my DH ever agreed to wearing a coat and tie after retiring at the end of December 2019.
  17. I guess everyone figured out I meant "everyone does NOT need to buy their own" laundry package.
  18. OP says they are looking two grades below Neptune, which would be a Vista Suite. VS gets very few perks (supposed to have binoculars for use, didn't see them!) and nothing as far as priority access:
  19. Ask your dentist for trial sizes of sensitive toothpaste -- ours used to sometimes give us them (before we moved that is), according to what sales reps had left with him. We have ANOTHER 35-day cruise before the Voyage of Vikings! Sailing two months from tomorrow! But, we drive to port so can bring (and take away) the super-size lotion and sun block.
  20. The law reads FAR, but somehow Ensenada and Victoria Island are far enough. Maybe @chengkp75 can explain how these quite-near ports qualify...
  21. It occurs to me that Unlimited Laundry is like a Beverage Package: You may not get your "money's worth" in dollars, but it improves your vacation, not having to think about it! ETA: Unlike Beverage Packages, everyone does need to buy their own! One Laundry Package per cabin!
  22. Cloth bag, about the size of a travel (not neck) pillow case. There is no restriction on what you may put in the bag (as above illustrations show), unlike RCI where you can put only soft goods (undies/tshirts/PJs) in the small paper bag. A bag half way through the cruise was our method up until we now will have laundry included. By the bag is the most economical FOR THE LAUNDRY, but you must pack enough clothes to have that many dirty at once, plus two days for the laundry to get back to you. So if you're flying on an airline that charges for checked luggage, you may find you have to do the math. As well as struggling with your suitcases! I know I'm looking at much smaller baggage with the unlimited, now.
  23. Duplicate post! Written on the previous page so I couldn't see it had posted...
  24. I was going to suggest that! But could not find a picture of the back of the door OR one of those organizers!
