  1. Wife took a tumble last year when her walker hit a bump (between hard floor and carpet) on Radiance and they (Safety team) took her to the Medical Dept to check her out since it was "kind of" their fault. No XRays, but she did see a doctor who checked her out, for a bump on the noggin and a band aid on her arm. never saw any bill. Signed more paperwork about the accident itself than her injuries.
  2. Royal Caribbean doesn't rent them either, but they DO provide wheelchairs and assistance to get through the terminal and to board/leave their ships.
  3. Sorry, assumed posters were talking about Royal Caribbean. Luggage handling should be similar for all I suspect.
  4. Luggage left in the hall the night before will be taken to the baggage claim "Barn" and ALL the luggage will be arranged in groups by disembarkation group number BEFORE passengers (other than self assist) are allowed off the ship. Porters will be available to meet you where your luggage is and take it out to the curb. You can send someone to bring the car around to the pickup line and load it there. I DON'T know how far the porters can/will go into the parking lots/garages adjacent to the terminal. I have seen porters headed "toward" the parking lots, but haven't watched to see how far they'll go. We always park offsite and only have to get to the shuttle line. @David10225Contact Royal's Special Needs (special_needs@rccl.com) and they can provide wheelchair (and a pusher) that can meet you on the ship at a special departure area (typically close to the gangway) and roll her off the ship to an area in the terminal where she'll have to transfer from a "ship's chair" to a "terminal chair" for the rest of the trip. Get a porter to wrangle the luggage and you'll just have to lead/follow them to your car. 🙂 Same process works for embarkation as well, should have started with that. We do this all the time. Also, you may want to look at renting a scooter on board, especially if you're on a large ship and/or want to explore a lot. They can be waiting in your stateroom when you get onboard and you leave it there when you leave.
  5. Shouldn't matter, pretty much limited to the stage, nothing acrobatic any more.
  6. We received a bottle of wine last cruise and I had no idea why, BUT... It very well could be a result of my reaching out to mbayley about a horribly botched Panama Canal shore excursion last fall. We got a full refund for the excursion and a FCC for a couple days fare.
  7. Our cabin attendant "found" this one for us (on Allure last month) after I'd plugged it in under the desk and routed it around/under the bed. VERY convenient behind the head of the bed (on the phone side). The CPAP's power brick/cord would reach without the extra cord.
  8. Water is available FREE at all dining venues and in your room. Wouldn't BUY any package just for water. Sounds like your 8 free vouchers should be plenty.
  9. Tie wrap the cord so it doesn't LOOK like an EXTENSION cord and it may get past the "security" inspection. 🙂
  10. The road construction is nearly done and HOPEFULLY, they'll be able to sweep up soon. AGREE that the amount of Galveston we bring home every trip is a bit much. Still my favorite vendor.
  11. I'd send the email anyway, there's a dedicated team that handles his email and DOES respond.
  12. Allure has Samsung TVs that DO have Screen mirroring option. I took my Samsung remote from home (to select input) and streamed from my samsung phone all week. YMMV
  13. Incidents Occur and I've found RCI to be very willing to resolve issues like this. A POLITE, concise email to mbayley will get attention. Don't gripe, threaten or demand. Just lay out your case and be clear what you EXPECT to happen (either get balconies OR a refund of the difference, NOT BOTH). Let us know how it goes as it seems time is of the essence 🙂
  14. Only because this light (as well as the bathroom counter layout) are things that went in the PRO column of my "Do I like Oasis class or not" PRO/CON list 🙂 I waited 3 years to sail on Allure and told myself I'd wait until I'd done a cruise to decide if I liked the large ship or not. I can say I neither LOVE nor HATE it after 7 nights, but DID book 8 nights on Harmony for 9/2024 so I guess I do LIKE it enough to keep them in our rotation. STILL prefer the smaller "classic" ships though.
  15. Allure definitely DOES have it 🙂 I didn't notice until the second night when I forgot to turn on our "electric candle" we normally use 🙂
  16. Guest services? Lost and found? Check in/under all the stuff in your cabin?
  17. Watched this very thing last week on Allure one morning early. Had about a dozen "crew" in the pool taking turns flipping the raft.
  18. If you REALLY need to "work" I've had great results using the Internet Cafe/Business Center/RCOnline, whatever it's called with "real" computers and monitors on a WIRED connection to the internet. Used it on both Radiance and Allure with Starlink and it was great. SOME of the computers have jacked up Chrome installs, so you might need to shop around for a good one. Watched several hours of our Tivo in our midship cabin with minimal buffering/glitches. Brought a Samsung remote from home to select Screen mirroring which worked great.
  19. I was referring to the NEW terminal which is TOTALLY different from the old warehouse 🙂
  20. We've been very happy with Scootaround in Galveston.
  21. Haven't had any issues with arriving early in Galveston.
  22. Was hesitant to try the Allure, but had been trying since pre-Covid when she was supposed to come to Galveston and didn't want to decide I didn't like it without actually TRYING it 🙂 After 7 nights I can say I don't LOVE it, but likewise don't HATE it. We booked 8 nights on Harmony for next year, so... Like several have said earlier in this post, it doesn't FEEL crowded as you might think 6,498 fellow passengers might be. EVERYTHING is scaled up from the smaller ships while still a (mostly) familiar layout, just expanded. Elevators are both more plentiful and MUCH larger than smaller ships. DW was using a scooter all week and I can count on one hand the number of times we had "elevator problems." Don't do pool deck, so loungers aren't an issue. 🙂
  23. This is 3rd week in a row that Allure has been "oversold" We didn't like the options, so stuck with our original booking and had a great time. At least they removed the "unfortunate inventory error" verbiage they used on the others 🙂
  24. We were on last week and Central Park was really depressing with mostly "empty" plant beds and some dead plants still. They've replaced some of the greenery, but still mostly missing. HOPEFULLY, they'll be able to get it back in shape soon. You didn't ask, but you'll also disembark from deck 5 when you return 🙂
  25. We saw the show this week and I think it was great. Not a big fan of interpretive dance, but is was something to do 😃
