Thank you for explaining. Both Jack and I grew up with no AC. Me, in NY, he in Israel. Our 1st apt., thankfully had ac. We bought my parents an ac window unit which I suspect was hardly used. They said it was too cold! I had a weird experience at the Kroger deli counter. This could almost have happened to Sue @LionesssI know she could tell it better: Me: Can I please have 1/2 pound Boar's Head Genoa salami sliced thin? DL (deli lady): Did not respond and seemed to not understand. Me: I repeated, spoke louder and slower DL: No response but took out the roast beef. Me: No that's not salami as I commenced to point to it in the showcase. DL: No response but took out different roast beef Me: Can you please come around to my side so I can show you the salami I want? DL: No response and took out garlic baloney Me: Jack come here and help us please? Leave it to a guy with an Israeli accent to get through to her. Me: Now I'll have 1/2 pound of lemon pepper turkey DL: Finally got it right after 2 failed attempts taking out other deli meat Me: (after I had everything in my cart) Excuse me, can I have 1/3 pound of the lemon pepper turkey you just gave me DL; We don't have that Me: You just cut 1/2 pound. I picked up the pkg from my cart and showed it to her. DL: She just shrugged her shoulders Me: Have a nice day, walking away in disbelief. If this was 50 years ago, I bet I would have been on Candid Camera. We were in a rush to get home. Should I have reported her? I feel the store was at fault, not her personally or maybe I have a soft heart🤨

Thanks for asking about my ankle, Maryann. I have PT sessions for at least another 3 weeks, lowered from 3x to 2x per week. I can walk ok with minimum pain, except for PT sessions which are still grueling, wearing an ankle brace walking with the aid of a cane. I try to walk as often as I can but my endurance is limited. My happy day will be when I can ditch my cane and walk the mall again. All in all I'm happy with the progress I've made.

What beautiful weather we're having! Sunny and very low 90s, high 80s. I wanted to share something with you all (y'all?). I just viewed a you tube piece of something that brought me to happy tears. A deaf baby hearing for the first time, looking confused and then breaking out in smiles and giggles. I'll attempt to copy the piece in here for those interested:

Lenny, thank you for asking. Trying to do my best to walk. We had no plans today since my daughter took the kids to visit friends. Too hot to go outside so I did as much walking as I could around the building. Of course. I was responding to GeorgeC's comment about going to a crowded feast in Little Italy in NY, one I've been to many times.

Bob, thanks for the article. Yes, opioid addiction is a major concern. However, this is the 2nd time around taking an opioid, 1st in 2016. I never got addicted then and I'm not addicted now. In total I would be taking it for approx.3 weeks, maybe 2x a week. I've learned to deal with the pain knowing it's temporary or at least I hope it is. Oh my, that brings back wonderful memories. Must have been the Feast of San Gennaro. When we lived in NY we would go almost every year. Oh, the food!! Below is a photo I googled:

Hard to live with constant if not temporary pain is all I'm saying. No doubt most if not all doctors feel as you do. I still have a small supply of my happy pills and so far 8 pills have lasted me 30 days, I have 2 more. I only take them when absolutely needed and probably won't need anything in 2-3 weeks when therapy will be finished.

Maryann, we're having the best time with our daughter and grandkids; bowling, Andretti Go Kart and games twice (I had to stay home for that one). Kids swam at our complex pool almost daily. Rain luckily was not a factor. One of my neighbors had her grandkids over one day and the kids had the best time. We decided to relax tomorrow, probably hang out at the pool with new friends, weather permitting and Sunday, is the Ft. Worth zoo. Monday they go home. waaaaaaaa...sniff, sniff. My therapy is coming along, although I call it torture! I graduated to walking with a cane but I still experience lots of pain. I'm still upset my surgeon would not refill my pain pills. The best he could do was prescribe tylenol w/codeine and an anti-inflammatory. Hardly helps. So glad you graduated from your PT. Thank you for asking about mine.
