  1. My turn I assume. Where was I? It is in Australia.
  2. This link may help - Directions for NZeTA Photo
  3. Southern or northern Norway? I might have to ask my Norwegian brother in law for help. 😃
  4. Viking well may be leaving some restrictions in place but are not being honest in saying that "states included in your voyage have a pre- embarkation testing requirement for all cruise travel." If they are keeping restrictions in place they need to explain why and not blame the Australian states.
  5. Not, if they are not Australian and are believing what Viking is telling them which is not true at all - states included in your voyage have a pre- embarkation testing requirement for all cruise travel. This was dropped for all states as from August 25th.
  6. If a test is required by Viking, it would have to be a rapid atigen test (RAT) as there are very few places now open where you could could have a PCR test. Of course hospitals and doctors' clinics will still test their patients. I'm not sure if there is still PCR testing clinics at our airports or not.
  7. Perhaps contact Viking and let them know there is no such requirement now for any Australian state, that they ended on 23rd August 2023. You could include this link from the Australian Health Department - Australia Ends Covid Protocols for Cruising
  8. I second the Maritime Museum. It's a wonderful, interesting place to visit. Although I wouldn't class it as right in the heart of Sydney. It is actually quite a way from Circular Quay, close to three kilometres if walking or around five kms if driving. For some, probably not far but for others, it is qute a distance.
  9. I'm not sure why you have addressed this post to me as I am Australian and don't need to have an ETA or any Australian visa. The information I have posted is general information on where and how to find the correct information to obtain an ETA.
  10. From Tauranga, I would suggest a trip to Rotorua and visit the thermal springs. We did an excursion there from Tauranga that included the Maori cultural village and springs. Very interesting. Dunedin has the tour mentioned above and other similar ones. Most of the NZ wildlife are birds or sea animals such as the kiwi (a nocturnal bird), kākāpō another nocturnal bird and very rare,
  11. In Melbourne, you are not here long enough to do many of the local tours unfortunately. Melbourne Tours Melbourne Tours 2 Private Tours for Cruise Passengers. From this one, I would suggest the Dandenong Ranges tour which gets you out of the city and into some amazing scenery. If you are interested in sport, a tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground is interesting. You can easily walk from the city centre to the Melbourne sports precinct which includes the MCG, Melbourne Park where the Australian Open Tennis is played, and AAMI Park where soccer and rugby is played. You walk along the bank of the Yarra River. Melbourne central business area (CBD) has some great parkland and gardens surrounding it which are worth a walk to. It is also very easy to get around the CBD, either walking or by tram which is free. You can catch a tram from near Station Pier where your ship will be docked into the CBD. This does cost but you can usually buy the myki card at the cruise ship terminal. If you're only travelling in the Free Tram Zone (CBD) you don't need a myki.
  12. What your link says about cruising is - Cruise ships Advice to support safe cruising in Tasmania will align with the AHPPC statement. Specific Tasmanian operational expectations for cruise ship operators will be published in the near future. If you click on the link included it takes you to the Federal Health Department website - and to me the pertinent part is this - We have shifted to managing COVID-19 consistent with other common communicable diseases, focusing on prevention and management of serious illness, hospitalisations and death. In this context, the AHPPC considers there is no longer a need for COVID-19 specific recommendations and guidance to apply to the cruise industry.
  13. For Wellington, I would suggest a visit to Zealandia Wildlife Sanctuary - Visit Zealandia
  14. I can't believe that New Parliament House is that old. It is a lovely building.
  15. I think my Tasmanian born brother in law would be quite risky too Linda. Even my sister who has lived there for more than 30 years would offer up some good resistance.
  16. Did your sister apply for the ETA (601 Visa), Visitor 600 Visa or the Visitor 651e Visa? The Visitor 651e Visa definitely has health requirements and looking at the list provided above the Visitor 600 Visa does too. The only one that doesn't have health requirements is the ETA (Electronic Travel Authority).
  17. Yes, sailing on her when she was Golden Princess, there were lifts to the tender deck.
  18. So do I Geoff, sometimes it is the highest amount and other times, the lowest. I just ignored the question on this past Princess survey though.
  19. The only covid related item I could find was that wearing of facemasks in the terminal is still recommended.
  20. Or maybe just NCL? There is nothing on Tasmania's health dept website or on their ports website that indicates there are any covid restrictions for cruising.
