  1. Ah, these are discounted. For Free bag it's one for Elite and two for Elite +. Thank you for setting me straight. It makes more sense to me now.
  2. I find them rather mild for me. I love a good vindaloo and to be good in my mind it needs to be spicy. I would choose lamb vindaloo over butter chicken any time.
  3. One of the first meals, other than grits, that I taught my non-American wife to prepare was meatloaf. We not longer have it as often as we use too because we are trying to watch how much red meat we consume but I love it when she makes it.
  4. That would depend on the level and quality of service that I received. If nothing above and beyond, then there would be no additional tip. If the waiter went out of his way to hand any special request or did something good outside of the norm, then yes, I would give an additional tip.
  5. I could not agree with you more. We love every minute we can spend with our grandkids. My wife and I have had many a conversation over a home cooked meal about all the time and effort that goes into preparing it only for the meal to be consumed in 20-30 minutes at most. @grandgeezer Not necessarily a joke but it was certainly meant in jest.
  6. @fredflint I love that idea but my DW can think of nothing else but getting home.
  7. Hmmm. All this discussion makes me wonder if the radio frequency jammer I bought years ago for some research will work against BluTooth. Time to rebuild my faraday cage and test it out. It would be interesting to see folks reactions when their bluetooth speakers stop playing their music and they can't figure out why.
  8. Have not sailed Carnival since 2006. Not my demographic.
  9. RCL finished today at $75.35, up $1.38. I am pleased with all the shares I purchased last July. Those are up 175%. Just wish I had bought more. One year history: Last 6 months:
  10. My recommendation would be go have a nice leisurely breakfast in the MDR, go back to your room, double check that you have not forgotten anything, take your belongings and go find a comfortable place to hang out and wait until you hear the announcement that all baggage tags have been called and proceed to the gangway in a leisurely manner. You will need to be out of your room not later than 8 - 8:30 AM usually so that has to be taken into consideration. Unfortunately, as @mjkacmomsaid, most hotels, especially around cruise ports are busy on debarkation/embarkation days and rooms are not ready until the afternoon. We normally have a flight that arrives in Fort Lauderdale around noon and what we do is go to the hotel, drop our bags off with the bell desk, and then go do what we want to do for a couple of hours and then come back to the hotel and wait until our room is ready. We find grabbing a nice lunch a good way to pass the time. Taking a walk in warm weather is also nice for us since we live in Virginia where it is currently in the 30 - 55 degree range.
  11. Hmmm -- All this talk about Elite Perks got me looking at what the latest is. On this webpage I found this -- https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/updated-captains-club-brochure-v6.pdf Two things stood out to me.. First: Captain’s Club Music + Mixology Event -- Cannot ever recall receiving an invite to this. I know there is a mixology class you can pay to attend but this is new to me. Second: One complimentary bag of laundry (wash, dry, fold). - Showing for Select and Elite but not for Elite + (I know Zenith's get free laundry the entrie cruise). Wonder if they meant to move those little asterick's over one column.
  12. If you look at the link I posted and choose "What's Included" you will notice that there is no mention of any coffee's at all. I do agree your link, which is accessed from the same page, show them included. Sooooooo --- Will the correct Celebrity Website please stand up!
  13. We have only occasionally eaten in the OVC, other than to grab some late night pizza, fresh fruit, or dessert. We liked it a lot more when you were served by crew members than we do now with the self serve being brought back. Although I have to say that, based on our observations, Celebrity passengers seem to be a lot more health conscious than those on the sisiter cruise line Royal, when using the buffet. You do not often see Celebrity passengers using their hands to serve themselves - Thank goodness.
  14. Well that would depend on how much you value your time. At one of my jobs I was making around $100 an hour, but my company billed the customer around $300 an hour for my work. So, account for the time, shopping, preparing, cooking, and cleaning and tell me if it still 8 times the cost of dining at home. I will even let you have the building, gas/electricity, cooking facilities and utensils for free. Just in case you do not realize - the above is in jest but simply illustrates a point - how much to we value how we spend our time.
  15. If I remember correctly someone posted in another thread that it was on a single bottle, not each bottle. I cannot recall ever using mine (Elite also get 20%)
  16. The advertised hours are 8 AM to 10 PM but I cannot recall the doors ever being locked. I have read in other post that some passengers have been able to go in much earlier. I think the posted hours are actually the hours they are staffed by a Celebrity crewmember but I could be wrong. I am not an early bird when cruising.
  17. I love Eggs Benedict but find the Canadian Bacon that comes with it on cruises to be lacking (too thin). I frequently ask for a side to go with it. Another breakfast I have become fond out, courtesy of a Pinnacle cruiser on our last RCL sailing, to order an english muffin, toasted, one egg fried hard,, and five slices of bacon. Makes a nice sandwich!
  18. Actually there are three drink packages: Classic and Premium that are alcohol packages, and Zero Proof, which is non-alcoholic. The Zero Proof is included as a part of the Premium Beverage Package, but not the Classic. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/beverage-packages The coffee's at Cafe Al Bacio are only free with the Zero Proof (excluding the ones with alcohol), or the Premium Beverage Package.
  19. You certainly get a lot of information and I was able to ask for a second tasting on the World Wine Tour. It's being offered on our Millennium April cruise but I have not signed up yet. I usually wait until we are onboard for this one and sign up with the Sommelier in Luminae. It's my understanding they get the gratuties, or a part of them, if you go through them on the ship.
  20. Did not try -- the wine was served to us in tasting sized portions.
  21. After you have checked in at the pier and the ship is open for boarding. Suite/Zenith''s are first. If you mean choose your check in time at the pier instead of boarding time, then it has been when check in occurs approximately 45 days prior to your sailing date.
  22. Ah, I never knew that. We've only gotten things from the MDR delivered to our room when we requested them from our Butler. I assume that post Jan 1, 2023 this is no longer avialble?
