Disaster may have struck:( My 93 yr old mother in law fell in the night and is currently at A&E awaiting more xrays to see if her hip is broken. The care home she lives in were trying to ring us from about 3.30am but we just didn't hear the phone ringing! She is in the advanced stages of alzheimers and doesn't know any of us at all and is also stone deaf so communication is impossible. My Adypoos and his brother are at the hospital with her and I'm at home packing. It's not looking good! Adypoos won't want to go tomorrow until he knows the score. He's the one that makes all the decisions and has all the powers of attorney etc...ohhh deary my.

What's the plan then folks? Shall I lurk around the pub at 4pm on sea day and hope one of you makes first contact;)
-
I've just tried to book a couple of shore excursions but website's telling me I can't do that within 3 days of travel:confused: Do you think we stand much chance of getting what we wanted on the ship on Tuesday?
-
I remember the AC being extremely efficient last August! I was cold in one of the bars at night but can't remember which one. I like the cabin cold though so it suited me:D
-
Good evening shipmates:D Just thought I'd report in and tell you that the weather in Spain is currently scorchio!! Have just had 4 lovely days on Benidorm beach:cool: Spanish telly said el prognostico is more of the same.
-
Lovely jubly:D

Do Mrs Rebel, Mrs Mallorca chap and you Jenny dress up at night whilst sailing on the Escape? I wouldn't want to let the side down! I'm really looking forward to meeting you all!
-
Oh that one:rolleyes: yes, I look at that one quite often cos it's nice to see the sunshine and the boats! I thought you meant that the Escape had a webcam we could tap into and see the view from the bow as she sails across the sea:D
-
Have you seen the webcam? cappers :D very sunny and warm today and it's only going to get better :p
Which webcam are we talking about?
P.S..Bruges was beautiful,,Azura is as beautiful as ever,,Saturday at sea was just a perfect day! It was sunny and warm and the sea was like the proverbial millpond! I went to the very front of the ship on the clamshell pointy bit and it was awesome:D We slept with the balcony doors open and dozed off to the swishing of the sea!
I'm now packing for my girls trip to my beloved Benidorm on Friday morning,,then it will be time for S&S with you guys:D
Do we know how the first cruise went?
-
2 weeks today:D:D:D

We just got off Azura this morning from a 3 nighter to Bruges. The train from Blankenburg to Bruges was 3.80euros each for a return ticket. The trains go at 10 mins past the hour every hour and coming back it's 35 mins past the hour. We got the 3.35pm train back to Blankenburg along with a fair few others and then just got in the queue for the shuttle buses. It was dead easy! Last shuttle back to ship is 5pm. It's a lovely trip and we had a fabulous time.

We just got back this morning from the 3 nighter on Azura. When we drove down on Friday morning it was all fine until we got down towards that bottom end near the Ocean terminal then we hit the roadworks and holdups. It took us an hour and a half to then get into the CPS car park area. It was chaos! Sailaway was actually delayed because so many were late and we missed our slot,,so said the announcement anyway! This morning was completely different and we were straight out and away with no hold ups whatsoever! Had a great time on a beautiful ship!
-
Thank you. I've actually had a txt message from P&O warning about the roadworks and chaos they are causing! One thing I don't fully understand is the check in time issue. On my e tickets it says check in time is 3pm but the next line says that we must check in by 3.45pm. Lots of people say they check in from around 11am. I didn't realise that there were multiple times,,but then again if there's a few thousand people to get through I suppose it needs to be staggered.
-
Ooohhh,,,am nervous now,,,Soton saint,,do you think I should book a hotel and come down tomorrow evening for our Azura mini-cruise on Friday? She'll be at the Ocean terminal. It usually takes us about 3 hours from Leicestershire down to Southampton..maybe I should adjust our departure time from home and leave an hour earlier. Is it really that bad?
-
Ahh yes,,but I have a feeling you have to book and pay to go into the Retreat where the pools are. I might be wrong! I'll try and check this weekend. I doubt it will be warm enough for much pool use this weekend on the north sea:eek:
-
Thanks Jenny,,I'm looking forward to it very much. I love Azura too,,she's a very beautiful ship. I'd love to go to the Carribbean on her over xmas and new year but I've got no hope and Bob hope of that for a good while yet! Apparently we are going to be sailing down the coast of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall as far as Land's End before turning north again towards Belgium,,or so I've been led to believe by a nice man at P&O. Not quite sure why we need a day at sea though! Bruges aint that far is it,,but I suppose I'll just have to relax, drink Bellini's in the Planet bar and watch a film on the sea screen,,weather permitting,,and afternoon tea of course:D
I watched the Escape sailing away as well last night,,am trying not to wish my life away but I really can't wait. I've got my girls trip to Benidorm before Souks and Sangria though,,am pulling it all in this month aren't I;)
-
Well it's sail away time innit! Bet that party is in full swing and the other RR is doing his thing:D
-
Greetings Cappers, hope you have a lovely time in Bruge, what a city and make sure you look round the Square and all its Cafe's and this time year it will be lovely.
And only 21 days to our 1st cruise :D
Left a nice wind up this morning on the Island Escape Face book warning them today that they should take care as it was rather cool in Palma and the walkways were very slippery with ice ... would you believe its April 1st today
You naughty Rebel:D

Funeral director I work for got back today as well. He loved it, loved the Dream, said it was great, couldn't fault it and had a fantastic time!
-
Hi Cappers......we haven't had any call from Thomson...are you going to a hotel after the cruise? If you are there may be a change there... Or maybe a flight time change...
I think I've read on Thomson forum that they sometimes ring to ask if you want to upgrade cabins.... For a price!! :)

Rang them today,,nothing exciting just checking I've done all the passport stuff and got e-tickets ok. And there I thought I was special:rolleyes:
She's sitting pretty in Palma harbour isn't she! Hope they all have a lovely cruise. I'm looking forward to my little Bruges trip on Friday,,cases are down from loft, I just have to pack them now.
-
Ohhhh,,dios mio,,el prognostico es muy mal?? Que pena:(
-
I'm going to wear a big sign that says "I'm looking for a rebel, a chap from Mallorca and a Jenny Wren"!! That should give you all a fair chance to avoid me;) I've got short redish ginger hair and Adypoos is a miserable looking accountant! He looks miserable cos he's thinking about how much it's all costing him and how much I'm going to spend on "stuff" in a week! You'll love him:rolleyes:
On a more serious note,,,I've had a message from Thomson that just asks me to ring them about my forthcoming holiday to Majorca...I've been at work all day so not had chance to ring,,is it just me or has anyone else had the same call?
-
Should I be worried for next Friday 4th April then? We are driving down from the midlands on Friday morning.
-
We went last April,,towards the end of April really and it was fine. It was a little choppy but strangely only near the ship (Azura).
IE 2013 useful info "3" plus some nonsense.

Flipping Fraggles (elderly relatives) are a nightmare aren't they RR!! I hope your Dad is ok and you get away! My M-I-L has almost definitely broken her hip and is now on a ward sedated and will have an operation tomorrow. Adypoos is home and says we are going on holiday! He has filled in various forms at the hospital and his brother will just have to step up and deal with things for a week. We have fones,,and what's the worst that can happen?? I think however that his father who is 85 and another bucket of trouble will not be pleased at our departure and we will probably get a good telling off!
