  1. I believe they were doing that(tested again mid cruise) in the beginning and there were way to many positives to continue doing it because at that time there was a percentage that the CDC set, If above that number The CDC told them they had to end the cruise and head back to port.
  2. Sure it was up when Omicron first came out but the issue now it is worse now and there are many more new cases. Don't blame you for that. I'm sure some of those people in that crowd may have your same thoughts in a few days. Good Luck ! Be nice to be the first cruise line to bring the masks back for just a little more time until this current surge slows down. Would be a good customer relationship thing to do for now to show just how much the cruise line cares about their customers. It would be refreshing to see them act like that. Would gain a lot of respect from me and others.
  3. Sounds like you had a good experience. Glad it worked okay for you.
  4. Not correct, once you get on the ships now.. nothing,no protocols is what is being reported by current cruisers.
  5. True, never going to stop it completely...but with protocols and masks being worn the amount catching covid on their ships was greatly reduced, but now with no protocols it is blowing up with Many more cases onboard. Just reading threads on all the cruiselines clearly shows that.Do you agree?
  6. What current protocols..No protocols on ships now,it business as usual except now since they lifted protocols 5 weeks ago people are getting covid again on their ships.
  7. How soon before the protocols come back and everyone has to wear a mask again? Is that time coming? or is this going to continue to get worse? Before Royal reacts? or are they waiting for other cruise lines to do something first before they act?
  8. Might be best to book inside cabins for awhile, this way if you get quarantined it will feel like an upgrade going to an ocean view. 😉 plus you get a quarantine cabin for free, don't forget that.😉 Can't put a price on loss of companionship, it's priceless !
  9. Were pretty close on the Wonder on the TA that just finished sailing.
  10. Thanks for your report. Sailing from a different country, maybe makes a difference? Maybe different set of rules when not sailing from the US Glad he is keeping people aware of the totals, wonder if that is being done on all Royal's ships> makes you wonder doesn't it? Won't see us. Wow, That's crazy amount of people catching Covid on that one sailing. Sure am glad we will be sitting out our turn on sailing on Wonder in September. Just not worth the risk for us being in another country and so far from home. We will for sure cancel soon.
  11. Day 1 100% just incase the ship can't stop there because of heavy seas...........this gives them a chance to maybe reschedule for the last day if there is room on the island for your ship. If it's scheduled for last day of your cruise and the weather is bad and you can't dock, you are SOL for Coco Cay.
  12. About a year or 2 ago, the travel agent I book through made their web site so you can put holds on cabins without any money down. Works great, the hold are for 10 days too, so plenty of time to get a hold of my agent when either booking a cabin we like or making cabin /category changes if need be.
  13. You must have an insider at Royal that helped you book those cabins before they became available to the public to get all 5 sailings in a row. You would have thought you would have lost 2 out of the 5 just booking the cruises. BTW: you surely are going to get your exercise for those 5.
  14. Agree, would be super easy if Royal was more transparent with information but we know that will never happen. And why is the crew still wearing masks?
  15. I agree, when you are on a cruise and ask people if they heard of Cruise Critic, most say no never heard of it. So likely there are even more positive onboard we aren't even hearing about. Only one that knows true totals is Royal Caribbean and they aren't even saying a word. So believe what you want.
  16. Got 12 Zucchini , 12 Bell Peppers, 24 Tomato Plants planted in my Garden...........Corn Seeds should be here tomorrow. I still want to pick up some Egg Plants and some other kind of (Hot) or (Banana) Peppers Should be good with temps from here on out. Low tonight is 42 degrees after that the next 14 days the low gets no lower then 50 degrees. 🙂
  17. 5 , 6 weeks ago positive reports were like one every 3 or 4 days on CC, now there are 2 or 3 everyday on CC..... seems like appreciable more to me. Lets wait another 2 or 3 weeks from now and lets just see if Royal makes any changes, if they do I was right, if no changes you were right.
  18. Now it seems it would be great to still be testing B2B cruisers, this way if you were positive between sailings you could have got off the ship and quarantine at home and get your $$ back for the cruise you are not going to take with no questions asked, Full refund, instead of being in a quarantine cabin on a cruise ship. So I think B2B cruisers should insist on getting testing rather then take the risk of being positive day 2 or 3.
  19. Meaning there is more cases now on ships compared to 5 and 6 weeks ago on ships. What is not hard to understand? Doesn't matter one bit what is going on, on land. Royal has to make their ships as safe as possible otherwise it hurts their reputation. It that means putting in place protocols of some kind again. Then that is what they should do. Something is still going on, on their ships, otherwise all their crews would be mask less by now.
  20. Never said there were more cases on ships, but total amount of people on ships is such a small number compared to all the people on land. Neither equates statistically to the other. Plus people on land are much farther spread out then on a cruise ship. The 2 don't even relate. Like you said it's purely a gamble, if you have money to burn go and roll the dice by all means .People that cruise 10, 15, 30 times a year they have no issue going on a cruise now. If this is your one and only vacation for the year or 2 year period. There may be better options out there as to where to spend your money for a vacation is all I'm saying. I still have cruises scheduled. As you are, I know we are taking a chance.
  21. Wish others were like you, if they were there would be a lot less cases on ships now and we wouldn't be trending in wrong direction where protocols might have to go back to again like before. 2 steps forward 3 steps back. Since you are in your cabin now, any idea how many other cabins down below have positive passengers in them also?
