  1. Should be one of the highlights of your cruise sailing through the Prins Christian Sund this afternoon, I have seen a few Youtube videos of cruise ships sailing through there. Really amazing. Tomorrow if you get a chance when you are in QAQORTOQ could please check on how the weather is when you are there. We will be there on the 22nd of this month. Not sure to just bring layers or a real heavy coat? I'm pretty sure though to be put on deck late at night watching/looking for the Northern Lights the heavy coat might come in handy. 🙂 Also if you get a chance if you see or hear of anyone taking the excursion through Royal called "Qaqortoq Town Walk" Ask them if it was worth it or is it pretty much something we could do on our own.
  2. Jewel is coming from Iceland on a Transalantic, they have a stop today in QOQORTOQ before heading to Canada and then to Bayonne. Just checked Jewel's location and they are indeed at QOQORTOQ right now.
  3. You are still only traveling at 12 knots, any idea where your 1st stop will be now? September 14th we sail for Greenland on Jewel of the Seas from Bayonne, NJ
  4. Put it this way, I'm sure it's not getting any warmer up there 🤣I guess even if we are rerouted to more stops in Canada like the Legend will be it still will be great since we have never done and New England /Canada cruise either.
  5. My Wife and I are getting very excited for our upcoming cruise. We bought "The Key" which wasn't much more then the Internet Package with 2 devices. Caught a nice sale. We got an email from Royal allowing us to board between 11:30am and 12:30pm. So no worries there, we will leave our hotel in Newark at 11:00am. It's about a 20 minute ride to the port. More worried about actually getting to Greenland because of the weather. Carnival Legend just decided it was to windy to go to Greenland at this time because they wouldn't be able to tender into the ports. So instead of going there they are getting a new itinerary tomorrow morning, most likely more Canada Ports. You can read about it on the Carnival boards.
  6. For those that have boarded lately in Bayonne(Cape Liberty), when checking in at the port? Do they come around with I-pads and checked you in or do they still do it the old way at the counters/desk? I'm asking because we did not upload our pictures when checking in online. Just wondering where that is done at now in Bayonne Port?

  8. At Stanley Park , we did the Horse Drawn Tours which was nice and peaceful through the park if you want something more laid back and the weather is nice. https://www.stanleypark.com/
  9. Your travel agent needs to get the name and number of the customer service person they talked to for later use for all.
  10. Showing Clearwater Beach on the weather channel. Showing huge waves. Water level is still waist deep ,some places as high as 6ft high with storm surge. @singinalot Your living area of your house is on stilts right? Did Nate turn the pool off,if sand and debri come up into pool, you don't want that stuff running through your filter. Hopefully Nate sends you some day light pictures soon. I bet it's very hard for you to be in NYC not in Florida with Nate as he rides this out with the pups.
  11. Interesting information, I know it's going to be cool/cold for sure. We can pack a lot since we are taking a train to Newark/Bayonne from Virginia. So really no luggage restrictions. The weather is not going to upset us, it is what it is, we are just happy to get back on a cruise ship. Few questions about your Norway/Sweden vacation. How did you get to Kiruna, is there an Airport near by or what? I have read about people who hitch a ride on those working ships/boats, just how much does that cost? Any pictures you care to share of the boat you were on and the conditions of the cabin and food you had on one of those working boats/ship? Wasn't that like a 15 or 16 hour train ride from Bergen to Stockholm wasn't it?
  12. Here are the specs on #8181 in Infinity..........Balcony is almost as large as the cabin. Cabin 271 square ft. Balcony 242 square ft Also you have to walk through 2 doors to get into the cabin, internet sucked in the cabin until we learned something about half way through the cruise. You had to leave the second door cracked open with a shoe to get the internet signal to come through to the cabin.. They had the ship's IT guy come to our cabin so we could show him what was going on.......I still can't believe how they didn't know what was going on in that cabin. Pretty sure everyone that stayed in that cabin prior to us had the same issues. Got us a nice $200 FCC though after complaining. 🙂

  14. It was really great for Alaska, could see views from both sides of the ship and from the back and a little bit forward on the one side.
  15. What happened to that thread that talks about when new itineraries come out? Can't seem to find it, how many pages back is it?
  16. Any plans in place yet for maybe coming into to Tampa(TPA) on Friday? Doesn't look to good in that area as far a storm surge in your area. My Aunt and Uncle live in Bradenton, this storm they are staying put. Their house is not in any of the Flood Zones though. Crystal is your house in one of those flood zones? if so do you know what letter they gave your area?
