Looks like they resolved the issue, cancel for a full refund. From Royal: I understand there’s some disappointment with the recent itinerary modification forOvation of the Seas October 6th, 2023 sailing, due to the wildfires in Maui. This beautiful destination has been completely destroyed with some reports saying it won’t reopen to cruising until sometime in 2026. As a brand, we had three sailings visiting Lahaina, and our teams worked quickly and diligently to secure alternative ports for each, knowing that other cruise lines were doing the same. We've looked closely at other Hawaiian ports, but due to its size, Ovation only had 2 other options in Hawaii, which were not available for many reasons - including the port being already occupied and even the Ironman triathlon blocking ocean access. We tried everything – so we opted for another Canadian and US port. We’re sorry for the dissatisfaction created – and hope you understand the magnitude of this catastrophe. Nonetheless, we know this isn’t how you planned your cruise to go. So, we’re providing the option to cancel your cruise with no penalties. She is in the air now, just left an hour ago, she ha s an almost 11 hour flight. Might depend what section of the plane she is in as to how she likes the flight or not. The plane holds almost 300 passengers.

Price protecting is amazing they are doing that for you..............thought they just might move the funds to the new cruise and make you pay the current prices.

Ken , I guess your post, #2 in this thread mislead me . I thought they were giving the OP the option of changing cruises if he wanted but still wanted him to pay a change fee of $100 each and he just didn't feel it was right to have to pay the $100 per person to change cruises.

To the OP, I know it sure doesn't feel fair but for the way it is really bothering you..............It is an expensive cruise to begin with, since it does seem they are allowing you to switch to another cruise of your choice? Just pay the $100 per person change fee and be done with it and be happy with your new cruise you pick.. 🙂

Wonder if he gets any special treatment on turn around days every 7 days. I would hope he doesn't have to bother getting off and back on every 7 days like B2B cruisers do. I bet he has something set up special for him so he doesn't have to leave his cabin.

This is probably the reason why Portside BBQ, Boardwalk Dog House, Johnny Rockets and Playmakers don’t open until 2:00. Not enough passengers onboard to make it worth opening at 12 noon.

years ago , yes. What's the worse that can happen? They cancel my reduced price for one person? Then charge me the current onboard price, table is reserved, I'm sure they will let us eat.............By reserving like this at least we got the day and time we want and don't have to rush any where the first day trying to reserve the day and time we want with all the other passengers trying to reserve a time.

No I still mean you still both go, just when you get there they add a place setting to the table and you both eat, one will be free with the BOGO Diamond Plus discount I just went to our cruise next month online and I can still book for just one person..........is this something they are starting for 2024?

FWIW.........once your cruise does become available on the Royal App you can on there book for just one person for the specialty restaurants.

Never knew they sold concert tickets 15 months out.
