  1. I suggest "bag checks" when embarking. Those with formal wear get their half of the ship.
  2. Wife saw this dress and threatened to make it out of old cruise cards. But, I reminded her that the Princess medallions would need to be placed very strategically.
  3. Brand me up a 3% on all, 5% on cruise line purchases credit card and I’m there.
  4. Yes, they cost many thousands each. Good for a few bucks on eBay or three or four drinks in trade on ship.
  5. Book the early bus, unless you really like to sit on a bus for a long time. We made the mistake, once. Now we take a rideshare or taxi.
  6. We have cruised every major line to Alaska, even the dreaded NCL and Carnival. All were fine, but glacier bay is the best as are sailings from Vancouver.
  7. Private locations are the best. Everyone gets off the ship, we stay on. We get off once in a while too.
  8. If you are like me, you have invented many useful items. You just didn’t patent and produce them for sale.
  9. No one (or at least very few) game the system. They set the rules-follow the rules, get the perks. The line says short cruises count… yay!!! Take short cruises.
  10. Take shuttle to LAXit and get rideshare. If it’s crazy busy pay around $70 with tip to take a taxi.
  11. While I may look like Lurch, the wife is beautiful and frequently receives free drinks from bartenders, suits and passengers. Whether I’m there or not. It’s called the “beautiful people discount”. Or is it the “I’d like to get to know you discount”. 30+ Years of marriage has made me realize, it’s been saving me a lot of money over the years.

  13. See someone without a beverage. Buy them one, be that liquor, soda or tea.
  14. Vodka is the only safe food. Maybe Vermouth and olives safe too. But I would avoid them as you never know. Ice will kill you!!!
  15. Got myself a bear tag this year, Stan better watch out.
  16. Vesper or Gibson (good luck on the onions) are all you need.
  17. BTW: The folks working at "Bush" call it "International". (I'm sure there are some the don't)

  19. One at the pier terminal building at Sitka. Not in town, but there is plenty in town.
  20. Just to beat everyone's time... I started to think about applying for the credit and it appeared on my account.
  21. If your girlfriend has a valid passport, you'll be fine...until you get back.
