  1. From the past… One day a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, you could order any drink you wanted at the towering inferno. sadly, my maximum intake of swill was 13 glasses.
  2. We took tri-rail once. Only saw two serious fights and no stabbings at stops, so it was a success. (I wish this wasn’t true)
  3. So I need to have 1 1/2 children so that we get 7 days internet for one device. not worth it.
  4. TA is worth 10% ish reduction in price of cruising. Use TripAdvisor for any travel questions. (See that… I’m sucking up to the big boy company)
  5. While this method requires a lot of string, I find it quite effective on cruises. The limiting factor is it’s really only useful when calling one number.
  6. We send ours in upon receiving the booking number. We have had it disappear when we’ve “jacked around” with our booking, so I always check again after all the jacking is done.
  7. Yes, we have done cruises without getting off at the ports. There are limited activities during the days in port, so plan to sleep in as late as possible. Then take over the pool, spa, buffet, open bar, or Diamond lounge and treat the ship like you own it. The peons will be streaming aboard soon enough.
  8. I rarely enter an elevator on a cruise ship, but when the wife throws on the 5 inch stilettos, I’m required to travel in this fashion. I learned a long time ago, if an elevator on a ship comes, get in it. Whether going up or down.
  9. Topnole has this one right. Money talks and money won’t pay a lot for an “Indian” restaurant. Now a Indian then Native American then Greek then Canadian then African then Caribbean then Norwegian restaurant, that would be “Gold”. 😉
  10. I won a new car, but it was non restored 1954 Rambler American and I needed to pick it up off the coast of California “near” the pacific coast highway.
  11. If you have someone question you about your two bottles of wine, just turn and point at some random person and say: "I'm with that person".
  12. Book two staterooms, double the amenities, problem solved. And well worth it!!!
  13. I can’t help you on the deposit question as we use a travel agent and that person takes care of these kind of issues. But, I am here to inform you that the grandchild will be born November 2nd, so you could go on the cruise and still be back in time for the birth. enjoy your cruises and grandchild!!!
  14. Since you need a particular vintage that is not available on the ship for medical reasons, I will help you out with your back to back issue. Yes, you could bring 4 four bottles of your medically necessary wine onto the ship on the first day. And then bring two more bottles upon embarkation of the second cruise. (Of course, this requires you to head to the store between cruises to pick up said bottles)
  15. While there is still some complaining, on Royal people never complain about tipping, dress codes, chair hogs, smoking, loud music or those that arrive outside their self chosen arrival times.
  16. Removing gratuities does not necessarily mean non tipping. We lived in the cash tip era for a long time after auto grat became the norm. But money hasn’t been an issue for us since 1989, so we always paid a decent amount of cash. please give up worrying about other people’s habits. Be yourself… penny pincher or generous. Life is way too short to be concerned about what other do or don’t do.
  17. R-E-L-A-X. Just returned. Do a week or so in light deprivation and all will be clear. Re-sign with the Packers.
  18. At 10am (for most ports of call)…watch video, listen to ship horn. Immediately after boarding go straight to muster station and check in. Next Get blind drunk on Beverage Package. Problems solved -no makeup muster.
  19. Easily a table for 8 with uncle Joe at a table by himself.
