Does the app not work anymore?

If I get the drink package and go to the bar, can I order 2 drinks at once with just my card? Or do I need my wife’s card with me as well.
I somehow remember only needing one on Ncl but royal wanted both cards.

I have never seen them do it on the weekends personally. Maybe everything has to be okayed by a human.

So some speculate that there is a certain price in which bids “automatically” get upgraded.
It may be a threshold that is somewhat acceptable to NCL to take money now, rather then wait and have the consumer withdraw the offer. This is said to happen about 24 hours after a large bid.
Do we know if it is really automatic or must it be reviewed manually by a person. Has anyone ever had a bid accepted on the weekend? What does it take in your experience? (Good, fair, strong, excellent, etc)
Can anyone chime in with an automatic upgrade or a bid that was accepted within 24 hours...

Seems to take a day or two to get the info passed over to PlusGrade to open up the new categories for you.
Thank You!

No. Once your bid is accepted, it is final. You will no longer have access to the bidding system.
Edit: If you call NCL and actually do a full, direct upgrade prior to your bid being accepted, you would be able to bid on a Haven. But not if you are upgraded through the Upgrade Advantage Program.
Ok done and ms assigned. When will I be able to bid? The screen still says balcony’s and mini suites...
Thanks again.

Question, if I book an Oceanview and then get upgraded to a MS, can I then rebid on a haven?

You cannot enter from both levels. It is one access only.
That’s not what I thought. Worst case my wife will help me up and down the stairs. Positive vibes. On that note, I will report back after the cruise.
Thanks everyone for joining me on this Royal Screw up!
So long!

Nice upgrade but I thought you had originally booked an accessible cabin because of a wheelchair? Bedroom is on second floor. Sofabed on first floor.
One level is for sleeping and the other one is for relaxing. I’ll have to use the elevator down the hall. Luckily we can enter on either level.

Everyone who read my other thread about what the horrible resolution team at Royal Caribbean put me through can now breath easy.
After hours on the phone with 3 different reps from the corporate office. Countless emails and suspense I was ready to accept the fate of a JR suite.....UNTIL!
I logged on this morning and..........CROWN LOFT SUITE assigned!!!!!!!
Super excited about the cruise and honeymoon.
Be persistent and fight for what’s yours.
I just want to let everyone know that I am still deeply upset at Royal Caribbean, their shady bait and switch tactic will go down in my book as a petty immature move and I do not forgive you.

You keep bringing up the honeymoon piece as if it's so significant in this story. If that's such an important factor, bite the bullet and pay for the full suite. Problem solved.
As I mentioned in a previous post. If one were available, I would have.

I would try calling RC one more time to see if I had any luck. I doubt I would luck out but you never know.
Regretfully, there are some people who have to cancel at the last minute due to unfortunate reasons. When you call you could play the honeymoon card. I personally feel they would do what they could to make it come true. However, if the ship is sold out above JS there is not much they can do for a W. However, if the GS means that much you could also ask to be put on the paid upgrade list. After all you have been through though, I doubt you want to pay more.
I can attest a JS is a pretty killer room, especially after being a regular cabin a few weeks ago. I know the promise of the GS to be swapped to a JS can be defeating but this is your honeymoon. You do however have a drink package and meal package so roll with it. Our family has had some crappy things happen, like all, but we roll with it and make the best of a bad thing. We had too, we made it no other option in our house.
From your good list of previous cruises it won't be your last. It will be a story that hopefully you can joke about at some point, just not in the next few days. Make the call, don't spend more time here and keep your fingers crossed at the pier.
We usually sail in Star Class but I have always said you just need to be onboard. That's what we did with our recent 4 day booking and we had just as much fun in the "last balcony"on board than where you might normally find us.
Good luck and Congrats on your upcoming wedding.
Thank you for your kind words and comments, truly you sound reasonable and level headed. Had this not been my honeymoon, in all reality I would have let it go.
My wife started the post last night and I as her husband have to fight for my wife. Yes, we will have an amazing time on our honeymoon. I have no doubt about it. Even if we were moved to an inside, we would have laughed it off and made the best of it.
I will take your advice and keep pursuing and not spending too much time responding here anymore and I will let everyone know the outcome in the next 48 hours.
Thank You again!

A promise is NOT a contract.
Read your terms and conditions and especially those of a guarantee.
The T&C says that no changes BY YOU. It does not preclude changes by THEM. As long as they give you SOME suite.
I agree, you started reasonable, but now you sound like a whiny child.
I’m just asking for a reasonable resolution, that’s all. Not flowers on my honeymoon, I already have plenty of those. I’m not a child, it’s principal here, not money, not stateroom size, not perks. PRINCIPAL

They offered a "W", you got a JS. No matter how many times you keep repeating it, there was no guarantee of a GS.
There was a gs assigned to me with a room number. It’s mine.

Funny story. This happened to me. I "bought" a JS guarantee once. It was a "great" price. I expected a JS. Two weeks before the trip, I saw my room number. I was shocked. I was happy. I jumped for joy. Looked at my wife, and said, what we got, but told her, this has to be a mistake, because we only paid for a JS. Days ticked by, and the room did not change. We kept thinking it would change. It never did.
I feel the pain, although my room did not change, I can see why it would be painful for you. Like winning a jackpot, and discovering that you didn't. Bait and Switch? No, not even close. You got what you paid for. Dissappointing? Yes, but so goes life.
Any company that would change is bait and switching. Then to offer you someone minuscule from the flower department is a slap in the face. Especially on our honeymoon. I can’t keep up with this thread but I’m waiting for a call back this morning from resolutions, it seems like they have something they want to offer me.

Yes, it went the the person who paid for a GS not a W cabin. As for status, it doesn't mean a thing. Honeymoon or Anniversary doesn't matter either. It is the $$$ that matter and Royal took the higher money making route when they could sell the GS and change the cabin selection for the OP. Defintly not nice, but not baiting and switching as some have stated.
They were promised at least a JS with the W rate and thats what they received. As I have stated earlier perhaps the OP will get a nice surprise at check-in. I hope they do.
In all honesty if this happened to me prior to my wedding I wouldn't be happy. However I would be spending more time thinking about finializing the wedding plans VS taking on the board of CC which has no effect on RC actions. There are more important things to organize days before a wedding, at least that was the case in our house hold.
Right, but you do know I was assigned a cabin number. I respect you on here and your reviews. What would you honestly do if this happened to you. Room number assigned and all...

From the T&C's
1.8 WHAT IS A ‘GUARANTEE’ (GTY) BOOKING?
We may (at our discretion) offer you the option of making a ‘Guarantee’ (GTY) booking. This means
you may book a stateroom of a guaranteed minimum category type, (specified by us prior to
booking) on your chosen ship. However, the exact location of the stateroom on the ship will be
allocated by us (at our discretion) and at any time up until checking in at the Port. Once your
GTY stateroom has been allocated to you, we are unable to accept any changes requested by
you. The benefits to you of a GTY stateroom are that, after your booking has been confirmed, we
may (at our discretion) upgrade your stateroom to one of a superior category to that originally
booked at no extra charge to you. In any event, you are ‘guaranteed’ the minimum category of
stateroom we agree to offer at the time of booking. The stateroom we allocate will be suitable for
the number of guests occupying it and this may mean you are allocated a room with upper berths
which are accessed by a ladder. Upper berths may only be used by guests over 6 years old so GTY
staterooms are not recommended for young families. If you have a specific requirement regarding
your stateroom, or stateroom location, or are travelling with family or friends, (especially children)
you want to be near, then we suggest you do not book a GTY. At times, we may offer promotional
GTY offers. Such promotional GTY categories are defined as follows:
WS – Suite Guarantee *
XB – Ocean View Balcony Guarantee
XN – Neighborhood Balcony Guarantee
YO – Ocean View Guarantee
ZI – Interior Guarantee
* – Suite layouts and benefits vary by category. We may allocate you an entry level suite without a
balcony and/or which does not include the same benefits as a higher grade
Please note: If you book 2 or more cruises to be taken back to back and either one or all
cruises are booked under a GTY basis, there is the possibility that you will be allocated different
staterooms on each cruise, therefore necessitating the need to move between staterooms on the
changeover day between your back to back cruises.
Your Guarantee is allocated by them, at their discretion. If they want to change it then they are perfectly in their rights to do so. You paid a lower price for your guarantee than you would have a full price JS / GS. Unfortunate outcome, but that's the way it is.
Sorry, their discretion was to give me a GS. No where in your findings does it say they can change the room after assigning it at anytime. No where. End of story.

Not when you book a W Guarantee.
Opinions are like... oh well, you get it.

Unfortunately, they do have the right to change a guaranteed room assignment up until sailing. I know you are disappointed, but I am sure you will have a wonderful honeymoon. Congratulations.
Where does it say this in writing?

In order to bait and switch the bait would have to be a promise of a GS. You only ever received a promise of a JS which is what you ultimately received. Again yes it sucks and yes Total could have done more but calling it a bait and switch is not accurate.

"IF" you booked a "W" Guarantee the cabin that would be assigned to you would either be a JS or a GS.......both cabins would be at the same price. You didn't pay anything more or anything less for the cabin that you got.
And please, don't even throw Pinnacles into this situation. Upgrades are few and far between at Royal.
I got a grand suite, end of story.

What is relevant is what category you booked and paid for.
What is relevant is I was baited and switched. Look, you may not be able to understand it because maybe you never booked that category or you are extremely loyal to royal. If fact, you may have stole my grand suite for all I know.
I am not anyone’s cheerleader, even another loyal to royal person on here agreed with me. Whether I’m baited and switched by the local car dealership or Royal Caribbean International, shady business practices are wrong and in this day and age should not happen.
There is a lot of competition out there and I stay loyal to no one. I would be missing out if I did that and my general knowledge of other cruise lines wouldn’t be as good. Cruising is my life and maybe yours too, you would be upset if it happened to you and you would demand resolution as I am, especially with your status. I bet they would listen to you!

Thank you for explaining things. I must confess I was starting to get confused particularly as OP was not answering some basic questions.:)
Extremely sorry, I started this post last night and I could not respond fast enough, I was also having dinner with my family.
Thanks for understanding!

How is this bait and switch? You booked a "W" and got a JS.
Wrong, I “GOT” a grand suite and was downgraded. This is not in the T&C and is wrong by everyone I talked to. They said that should not have happened.

That is literally the stupidest, most backwards thing I have ever heard in my life. What don’t they employ horses to send messages back and forth.
