  1. We're sailing on the June 3rd Escape. Our bids were quite generous too' date=' but today I caved and just booked what we wanted. Our bids were only about $200 from total cost of what we wanted anyway, and once you've gotten to that point, and you're willing to spend $2000pp, you may as well pull the additional $200 and upgrade it yourself.

I'm going to miss the angst....sort of. I was getting way too obsessed. Mock bookings, checking inventories, you name it, I did it. It was fun, but at the end of the day, I really wanted that forward facing penthouse suite. And with only 2 left....I bit the bullet. Maybe next time I'll have the patience. :')[/quote']

This is a good point, I was debating whether to book a balcony outright and hope for an upgrade or book a haven direct. But when I factored in I’d be getting 21 points, I bit my bullet.

  2. Yes, we had a great cruise and a great cabin, a forward penthouse suite, the balcony has to be the best ever and we loved it. I only posted because I wanted to correct the inaccurate information about "pending" and "processing"

Pending: we’re currently assessing who we can extract the most money from.

Processing: we’re gonna run your card shortly, unless of course someone else bids more, then we would have to put your butt right back to pending....

  3. Who here would most likely never go on the older non breakaway class ships. Or who has gone and is now spoiled by the bigger ones.

For me it would be extremely unlikely due to the fact that I live right near Miami and Fort Lauderdale cruise ports and the fact that I sail multiple lines.

I’ve been on the sky for a quick weekend but I can’t see going on other “7 days” besides the “away” series and now with bliss and encore coming I deem it as almost impossible.

Too bad because I’m sure they are wonderful.

  4. Booked on the 13-May Getaway and there is one poor Haven room left - a forward facing penthouse (h7). While I doubt I will hit the bidding process jackpot I can have one more night dreaming about it. We bid enough to make that room ours at about a 20% discount. From what I’m reading the winning bids are more in the 6-8% discount range.

Please call right now and just book it. How many days do you have left on this earth? Live life to the fullest!!!!

  5. Travel agencies may have holds on some suites but they release them if not sold by so many days out. I can also bid on categories that show sold out. I guess it keeps us guessing..... I should hear by Wednesday this week whether my bid(s) were accepted or rejected.

Travel Agents can only “hold” a suite for 30 minutes within final payment. There’s literally I clock that counts down in the T.A. Reservation portal. After that it goes back in to inventory.

  6. I've asked this question too, but haven't heard a definitive answer. We also leave on the 13th on the Getaway. You're right, either way will be great. I'm thinking Tuesday or Wednesday before we hear...maybe Thursday..

There’s only 2 havens left on the getaway for the 13th. If you really want one I suggest you buy it outright. From what I’ve seen recently is they allocated them the Tuesday before the cruise.

  7. Question,

Sailing on the Getaway May 20th, in a mini suite put in a bid for haven spa suite. It says my offer was poor. We are debating on holding out for the upgrade just in case or just keeping what we have and buying the spa package. Through mock booking there are 8 spa suites left. Is it possible for the spa passes to sell out before we here on the upgrade? Afraid we may end up with nothing!!

Spa passes don’t typically sell out, at least not on 7 nights Caribbean cruises. I’ve seen them be as valuable as vibe passes in colder climate and transatlantic cruises.

If you bid in the fair range ($700-800PP) you will have a good shot at one. (Looking though these posts)
