Sailing 10/1 to FL/GSC/Nassau--
Thoughts on itinerary changes/cancellations? Any speculation?
I know it's 3 weeks out but it's not looking promising and Jose is right behind.

I have final payment due for a cruise in Jan due tomorrow through a ta located in Miami. So I'm wondering if I should try to contact Ncl regarding payment as I am sure my ta will not be able to be reached. I would assume Ncl will not cancel reservations made by ta because payment is not received on time but what's your opinion?

I have a cruise on Jan 5th and final payment is October 7th Usally final payment is 90 days from cruise date with ncl,
Your Ta probably has a 120 days final payment policy , You are probably at final payment stage with you TA not ncl Go to " MY NCL " click on vacation summary and check your final payment due date on the right side

Wanted to take a moment today to acknowledging NCL's efforts as a responsible corporate citizen. Just read the announcement that effort are being made to by NCL sky to help in the evacuation on many of our neighboring islands in their own efforts to recover from Irma. As much as many on here complain about services (many of which seem minor). This is a good time to commend the CruiseLine for putting people ahead of profit. Also noted the cancellation of his weeks Miami parting sailings were cancelled with FULL refunds AND a 50% discount on a future cruise.

Just booked a 2019 cruise on Gem online. At the end of the process, there suddenly appeared a $314 fee for Choice Promotion Service Charge. It did not appear before the final charge. I have 24 hours to cancel. Can anyone enlighten me?
from ncl website
Ultimate Beverage and Specialty Dining Packages are free but subject to 18% gratuities on the retail value.
The Choice Promo Service Charge is for staff members working in Specialty Dining Restaurants and our Bars. The Daily Service Charge covers stateroom stewards and behind-the-scenes support staff. Service charges encourage our crew to work together as a team as they are compensated by a combination of salary and incentive programs that your service charge supports.
Choice Promo Service Charge does not cover the daily service charges
Guest is responsible for 18% gratuities on the retail value of the Ultimate Beverage Package ($14.22 USD per person per day) and/or Pop Package ($1.35 USD per person per day) prior to cruise.
Retail value of Ultimate Beverage Package is $79.00 USD per person per day. Package price is subject to change.
Retail value of the Adult Pop Package is $7.50 USD per person per day. Package price is subject to change.
18% gratuities on the retail value of the Ultimate Beverage Package and/or Pop Package are included when booking through the Australia office.
When booking through the Australia office, gratuities related to beverage and pop packages are included.

What is up with this trend this week?! All first time posters, complaining about everything, then never coming back to comment on their own post....
I wonder if these First time posters are workers from other cruiselines

We really aft balconies on the smaller ships, especially those on deck 10 because the balconies are so much bigger. We also like to go out of NYC in the winter. Next winter only the Breakaway and Escape will be going to the Caribbean from NYC. For those of you who have gone on the Breakaway does one deck have larger balconies than others?? Thanks for any input.
Also for anyone who has stayed in a spa balcony (another option) a lot of them are under the workout room. Is the noise from that room a big problem?? Thanks again.
check this site very informative some of the floor have bigger balcony Largest to smallest; 9, 12, 11, 10, 14, 13.

Hi. I'm about to book an NCL cruise. I am booking 2 rooms for my family of 5. I understand there is a service charge or gratuity fee of around $14USD per person per day.
However, I can't find any official information about this on NCL's website. All information on service charges seems to be removed from NCL's website.
In fact, I went through the entire booking process up to the point of entering my credit card, and there was not a single mention of service charge, gratuities or tipping. This seems odd that there wouldn't be any mention of quite a significant fee at the time of booking (perhaps even illegal???).
Does anyone know what's going on here? For what it's worth, I'm in Canada. Not sure if others in other countries get the same results as me.
a good place to start is to read the norwegian cruise line , Guest ticket contract chapter 3a and c https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/Guest_Ticket_Contract_04-2017_2.pdf

Very surprised that NCL doesn't cover this in the Terms and Conditions. Should be the first place you check (unless, of course, your first step is to simply ask your TA).
It's there in the term & condition they use " travel professional" instead of big box sites, travel agents, etc.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s CruiseNext Deposit
Terms & Conditions
To redeem your CruiseNext Deposit(s) please call your Travel Professional or Norwegian Cruise Line at 1-866-234-7350. At the time of booking, please notify your Travel Professional that you wish to apply your CruiseNext Deposit to the reservation. For guests outside the US and Canada, please call your Travel Professional or the Norwegian Cruise Line phone number listed on NCL.com.
1. When you purchase a CruiseNext Deposit (CND), your shipboard account will be charged in USD and you will receive an instant shipboard credit towards your current cruise. Once the cruise has concluded, the CND will be converted into the currency associated with the agency you made your reservation through for the cruise on which the deposits were purchased (credit will go in your Norwegian Cruise Line guest record or Norwegian Cruise Line Latitudes Rewards account). Currency exchange rates are set at the time of purchase.
2. You must be 21 years of age or older to charge a CruiseNext to your shipboard account.
3. A maximum of four (4) CruiseNext Deposits may be purchased per person.
4. CruiseNext Deposits are refundable only within 30 days of purchase, in the amount paid minus the amount of the instant shipboard credit. 5. CruiseNext Deposits ($250 each) and CruiseNext Haven Deposits ($500 each) are valid for sailings of 6 days or longer. CruiseNext Lite Deposits ($100 each) are valid for Norwegian Sky sailings only.

One (1) CruiseNext or CruiseNext Lite Deposit ($250 each or $100 each respectively) may be used as a partial deposit towards the full required deposit for Suites or The Haven by Norwegian. Limit (1) CruiseNext Haven Deposit ($500 each) may be used as the full deposit for all staterooms including Suites and The Haven by Norwegian (staterooms requiring enhanced deposit).
7. You may apply two (2) CND of the same denomination to one (1) stateroom when booking a cruise that qualifies for the Double Up feature of the CruiseNext program. Visit www.ncl.com/cruisenext for full details.

If you cancel a reservation made with a CruiseNext Deposit after its expiration date, it will be forfeited. I see people are still posting cabin information but, where is the PDF that is supposed to be there?
From the first post in thread http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2060845 "Twice a month - I will try to post a PDF for all the ships and cabin information compiled here."
268 posts so far.[/quote
Yes ot would be a great ideal to create a PDF file of all ships and cabins information
We are big fan of the away class and found this files on Cruise critic it's very informative , Maybe somebody who has time to spare should create one for all the ncl class

I should have known better, but last night I booked a cruise using Norwegian Canadian site that shows prices in CAD. The problem is that only afterwards I logged onto the US site and there was a huge discrepancy in prices when you factor in the exchange rate. In the end I lost about $700. I called them this morning to get them to try cancel and rebook in USD but with the cruise being about 3 weeks away, I was told there was nothing that could be done even though the payment was made only 10 hours ago.
I agree Ncl should post the exchange rate they use on their Canadian website
Iwould call NCL ask to speak to a supervisor and get today's exchange rate and pay in Canadian currency , By the way how do you to the USA website ,I try and get redirected to CDA site

I think Texas and NY won't let you use UBP while in port but I know Florida and New Orleans still charge sales tax on UBP.
You can use ubp in New York all they do is charge the tax on your account and there is no tax in international water

Please enjoy our newest family vacation cruise video from our Breakaway cruise to Bermuda last week!
I was really on the fence about making a video this time around for a few reasons. This was our 5th time sailing on the Breakaway and lets just say that we've been to beautiful Bermuda many more times both by cruise and land vacations.
So I was feeling like any footage that I captured was just going to be more of the "same old same old" and how different ways can I possibly tell the same story.
Well after getting home and going over some of my footage, I decided that I just couldn't not make a video. I found ways through some editing techniques to give the video a fresh "youthful" feel to it. Plus it was my daughters graduation cruise and we brought along her BFF who was a first time cruiser. I thought it would be nice for them to have as a memory keepsake to look back on. They picked the music.... l hope you all enjoy the video! :)

Wow this is priceless
Great job hope your daughter enjoyed this cruise

Looks like my step son won't be able to travel with us. We are currently 118 days out and we have a regular balcony. If I don't want to forfeit any money when do I need to cancel him by? Is it 76-89's day before our departure?
Thanks
Danielle

There is no Cancellation fee for guest 3-8 if cancelled outside of the 100% cancellation period. If the reservation is cancelled within the 100% cancellation period then the applicable cancellation fee will apply for guest 3-8.

The main dining rooms need reservations??!!
Sent from my iPhone using Forums
you don't need any reservation for the main dinning room it all depend at what time you want to have dinner ie you want to eat at between 5.30pm to 7.00pm (the most busiest )
I would make a resevation for that time slot , the most I have waited is 10 minutes to be seated never tried the 5.30 to 7.00pm time slot
