  1. Platinum free dinner does not include Cagney's. I believe it can only be used inBistro or Cucina. That is what was on the certificate we had in our stateroom this past January cruise.

This benefit offers two dinners for two at a specialty restaurant for Platinum, Platinum Plus and Ambassador guests. Each stateroom will receive a voucher in their Welcome Back card on embarkation day for:

    • - One dinner for two at Cagney’s or Le Bistro with a bottle of wine
    • - One dinner for two at Moderno or La Cucina

This benefit is no longer delivered per guest but now delivered per stateroom. Service charges are included in this benefit.

  2. Hi all,

In anticipation of a credit card offer (spend $500+ get $100 credit card statement credit), I decided to book a cruise with NCL (typically cruise RCL).

NCL advised me that there's no point to extend the hold since the payment wouldn't be processed until the next day (I booked at 9pm and the promotion with my credit card company started at 12am).

It turns out that the charge was processed immediately. Had I known this, I would have extended the hold 12 hours to make my final payment the following day once the promotion begun. Since the sailing it less than a month away, I cannot cancel and rebook.

All I need to happen is for the charge to be remade at any point after the promotion began. Is there any department at NCL I can speak with to explain the reason for booking and misinformation I relied on? I'm hoping the charge can be rescinded and remade for the same exact amount of money.

    Thank you very much.

  3. I know you don't get latitudes points on charter cruises, but if you're platinum, do you get the platinum perks while on the cruise?

I'm looking at the Star Trek cruise next January. Just curious.

    Thanks!

Yes, if you are an existing Latitudes member you will receive the benefits commensurate with your current tier level.

  4. This doesn't explain why some people who booked with Canadian at par are getting upgrade offers in Canadian dollars' date=' while some are getting them in USD.

  5. I want to say thank you. You totally get it. Again thank you and we will have a good time. I see you have cruised on the jade before anything you would like to share? I am hoping it will be nice for our first cruise. We so want to become cruisers and this will determine if we will

    Hello 5jays

Sorry to hear about your delima , if I understand correctly you have booked a cruise for March 2017 via a TA in your hometown . Ta offered you a package from a third party you mention in post#3 . It looks like you are going nowere with your TA regarding some discrepencie on your booking. May I suggest you contact the third party

    From the third party website

    Question and answer

I noticed an issue with my booking. What should I do?

Call us toll-free in Canada 1 866 529-2079 for assistance.

  6. While I agree to this, just to be clear, the free at sea promo isn't universally blocked to travel agents. Many people, including me, were able to book with the perks through a TA. It must have had something to do with the package or the way the TA booked you. But if you call up a TA tomorrow and ask then to book you on a future cruise with the free at sea perks, they can do it. The price may be quite a bit higher than you paid though.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I agree the promo is not blocked to TA but in this case it's the third party that is block from the promo, I alway book via an Ta here in Canada and always get the promo but I make sure there is no third party involved.

  7. Newbie cruiser here so have a question that hopefully someone can hep with. Have a 7 day cruise booked in April aboard the Norwegian Escape, my husband and I and another couple (who have cruised before). So booked via a TA and was advised on a fly and cruise package that seemed like a good option and price (no need to worry about flight times and transfers as they are included). We are travelling from Ontario to Ft Lauderdale then transfer to Miami.

We found out after that Norwegian has the "Free at Sea" program, and then found out we are ineligible because we booked through a third party. Spoke to our TA and they aren't able to offer us anything, so am left with a little bit of a bitter taste, as the cost to purchase UBP is way too much IMO. Any suggestions as to see if there are any "loop holes" or leverage with Norwegian, even an option for on-board credit? Thanks :)

Sorry to hear about your misfortune . NCL is not at fault in your situation, It looks like your TA failed to inform you about what you were purchasing. It's the TA's responsibilty to inform you of the terms and condtions of the third party involved. You mentioned in post 31 the third party , a quick check on the website you would have noticed that supplier purchased a block of rooms from NCL, and if you check the NCL website under the terms & conditions for "free at sea promo"

"Offer is not valid for affinity groups or tour operators and cannot be held as group block." Good thing you are a resident of Ontario, you may have recourse in your situation. In Ontario we're protected by The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) their website tico.ca. You don't mention if your TA has explained to you the t&c of the third party . If your TA did not explain the T&C from the third party you may have recourse with tico. Contact tico and explain your situation. Check their website"tico.ca" under consumer information you will find all the information you need. Good luck

  8. Hi All

We typically do not purchase any "perks" other than a soda perk when cruising. We are light drinkers -occasional glass of wine or cocktail, so never felt the cost would benefit us.

On a cruise we are looking at we have choices on "free" perks. One is the UBP and another the SDP. I know from reading other posts that we will pay gratuities on the value of these perks - where do I find the actual value to know the cost of the "free" perks? The excursion credit doesn't appeal to us as we are only in one port (Bermuda) and having been there several times we will do things on our own - and I can live without internet for a week!

    thanks

    Cindi

you can get the pop package and pay $1.35 per day for the gratuities also the $50.00 deposit is appeling

  11. Did the moth r walk in on the, having sex? Did the kid brag to his mother that they had sex? The only way the mother knew was if the kid told his mom. Why would he do that? There's more to this than is in the story

A 23-year-old Canadian mother-of-three is behind bars after she allegedly had sex in the bathroom with a 15-year-old on a cruise in the Bahamas.

Karine Gagne was on the Norwegian Cruise Line ship with her co-workers at a company that sells adult-themed products when she met the teen at a bar and casino area on the boat.

Shortly after meeting the teen, who was reportedly a 6ft 1in American with a beard, Gagne allegedly had sex with him in the bathroom.

The teen's mother was present at the bar when she saw her son exit the bathroom with Gagne and immediately called police,

The American teen reportedly pleaded for his mother not to report Gagne to authorities.

  12. Hi Everyone!

I'm curious to see what you guys think - or know from experience - in regards to the perks attached to the Future Cruise Credits. I am currently engaged in a hot debate with my mother about this and want to get some feedback, although I suspect this may have to be settled once and for all with a phone call to NCL.

We cruised together this past December and both purchased two FCC's while aboard the Escape.

The promotional material that we were given when purchasing states that for Balcony cabins and higher, you can pick two perks (same as "Free At Sea" offers) upon booking using the FCC. The consultant helping my mom told her that the only one that might not apply to all sailings is 3rd and 4th passenger free.

Right now NCL is running a "Canada At Par" promotion, which is supposed to be about 30% off (booking in Canadian dollars) since our loonie is performing so poorly. If you book this promotion, you do not qualify for the "free at sea" perks.

My mother is arguing that if she books the Canada at Par rate using her FCC, she will be given two perks, per the description of the benefits of the FCC. I'm arguing that they won't apply.

Anyone have any idea who is right?

    Thanks!

    I agree with KeithJenner

The perk you were receiving were only when you booked your future cruise onboard.

We have a specialty dining package so we are planning on our three nights in those restaurants and the rest in the MDR.

Do I speak to NCL beforehand about this? Are there options on the menu? I'm the group travel arranger...so I'm trying to take care of these items for them. They've never been on a cruise and I've never had those restrictions, so this is all new to me too. Thanks.

  14. Noticed that Summer 2018 Bermuda sailings are on the Escape (because I just booked one) and Breakaway has no sailings scheduled.

Reasonable to assume Breakaway is going to drydock?

If so, I wonder if there are any major changes planned.

Norwegian Breakaway will depart her New York homeport on April 15 for the first time since her inaugural season in 2013 for a 12-day transatlantic voyage to London (Southampton). Following her arrival in Europe, Norwegian Breakaway will undergo enhancements in dry dock and then journey to her new seasonal homeport of Copenhagen, where she will sail nine-day Scandinavia & Russia cruises through the summer season

Breakaway will return to New York from Europe and will also sail seven-day Bahamas & Florida cruises from Manhattan during winter 2018/2019.

  15. I saw the Breakaway is heading overseas to England than sailing in Russia in May of 2018. Any information on this and what may be replacing the ship at the NY Port? We love sailing out of NY.
