  1. Usually in the UK, fillet steak comes from cows not the likes of Dobbin or Shergar. 😊 Does look nice though and cooked just about right. Glad you enjoyed it, I am sure I would have done. Nice red to wash it down?
  2. There was me thinking you were in Sorrento when actually you are in the Potteries all the time. The River Trent does seem to be a bit wider than usual, probably due to the rain🥴
  3. It is a pool just off the Greenway near Packmoor. Have a great time in Sorrento. I know you have been looking forward to it.
  4. It may be cold but it seems as though Spring has sprung (and the grass has ris). This is where the birdies is:
  5. Is that a garden or a country estate. Looks lovely.
  6. It was Lunar at World of Wedgwood in Barlaston. We will be at the ‘little palace by the sea’ for 5-6 days from Wednesday. They think it may be a bit warmer.
  7. Thanks Graham and Brian. It was a couple of weeks ago though so lunch was a delayed one, but worth the wait.
  8. They were exactly as you describe and exactly as I like them. They tasted as good as they look. Never had such good ones when eating out.
  9. If that is true, I am surprised they have not been prosecuted for fraud.
  10. Personally, I think an annual policy covers all eventualities, even weekends away if things go wrong. Just gives peace of mind. I suppose it partly depends on how many times you go on holiday in any year. We have an annual policy with Staysure who, despite some delay, paid out a large claim in full a few months ago.
  11. On many cruises from Southampton, third and possibly fourth person (provided the cabin can take a third or fourth person) are free or very cheap (£99ish). This also applies to adults, not just children.
  12. We came home this afternoon and when we left, your piece of Wales did appear to be intact. High tide has been pretty high but nowhere near coming over to your palatial residence.
  13. Quite bright and sunny here in N Wales but a few slightly ominous clouds and rather cold when walking the dog this morning. I didn’t watch Great Expectations last night but a TV reviewer on the radio this morning was not very impressed.
  14. To be fair, it all looks very good. Glad you all had a good time. Enjoy your wine.😊
  15. Serves me right for not reading back carefully enough. I am sure the key lime pie will be delicious. You must admit, it does look like cucumber though.
  16. As they say, it takes all sorts to make a world but cucumber slices on trifle? Really? Cake looks interesting though but maybe not for an 81 year old🥴
  17. Only a couple of bottles required per game then. 😇
  18. I think that if there is a suitable cabin available, you will be charged to upgrade, probably based on the price that was in force when you booked. I suppose that if you are on an early saver or saver fare, the price would be based on the select fare when booking as you will effectively be choosing your cabin. All speculation but I would be surprised if I am wrong.
  19. You make a good point but my main area of concern is that in the past, levels of duty and taxation for the coming year were announced in the budget. This year they were not because those decisions had already been taken as part of a long term strategy. The budget contained no mention or reference to most of them.
  20. I read yesterday that the road fund licence (car tax) will rise by 10.1% next month, something else (along with alcohol and tobacco duty etc and the freezing of income tax thresholds) that is normally announced in the budget but wasn’t last week. ☹️
  21. Don’t they have pigs in Italy to make proper sausages?🤔
  22. How would you know whether it was an upside down cake or intended to be a right way up cake
