We are on the same cruise. Looking forward to getting back on Aurora.

Hopefully you will see them because if you do, it is likely I will too. 😊

P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?

Is that R321 on Aurora or J317 on Arcadia? We have done two Northern Lights cruises. Each time it was very cold with snow. Layers with a good warm and waterproof coat are essential as is a good pair of waterproof boots with good tread.

At least when you are in your Welsh paradise, he would have no jurisdiction over you - not that he does anyway 😊🥴 -
Previously we have booked a suite and taken my brother in law as a third person in the suite. On some cruises, this is offered for free, on others it is £99 or £199. He received the benefit of the breakfast in the speciality restaurant and other perks. Had he paid for a basic inside cabin, it would have cost considerably more and he would not have received the suite perks unless the butler / restaurant manager had been feeling generous.

I read yesterday that in some court papers relating to an upcoming case involving Harry and Meghan in USA, Harry is referred to as Prince Harry of England. -
CPS Parking & Coach Transfer - Cabin Grade Disparity
pete14 replied to TigerB's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
I would be very surprised if people booking directly with P&O or a good travel agent who specialises in cruises were not advised at the time of booking if they were inadvertently making a financially unwise decision. An advantage of not booking online or with a travel agent who does not specialise in cruise bookings. I also suspect that people who book suites are rarely first time cruisers and so are unlikely to lack confidence when booking. Either that, or they have so much spare cash not to care. -
CPS Parking & Coach Transfer - Cabin Grade Disparity

Of course, people travelling on a coach from the likes of Glasgow and Newcastle receive a larger amount in kind than those travelling from places further south such as Birmingham or Oxford. -
CPS Parking & Coach Transfer - Cabin Grade Disparity
pete14 replied to TigerB's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
I don’t think it has ever been any different. People are given the choice of which benefit they want and they make their decision. Our son is accompanying us on a cruise later this year. We chose to forego his small amount of OBC for an inside cabin and used it for CPS parking and have kept the larger sum of OBC for our higher category cabin. I guess some will make their choice without looking at the options carefully but P&O can hardly be blamed for their lack of attention whilst booking. -
I have just done a dummy looking for a cabin for 4 and it conforms my suspicion that all cabins capable of taking 4 people are sold
-
I suggest you contact P&O on 08000523840 with a view to making a booking. They should be able to let you book a cabin for four or tell you why you can’t. Being school holidays, I presume the family cabins have all been booked but they will be able to give you the definitive answer.

I think that I would be wild if I was made into a soup like that.

Is P&O becoming Carnival’s Budget Cruise Line?
pete14 replied to Tablelamp's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
We have had the same letter this morning. Just one thing to add to save any confusion: cocktail parties and afternoon tea will not be available on Iona and Arvia but will be available on the other 5 ships. Seems quite fair bearing in mind the low prices being offered for cruising on Iona and Arvia and the fact Iona and Arvia also have features, attractive to many, that the others don’t have. -

Bought an egg and bacon double oatcake to eat at home. Cost a bit over £3:00 and absolutely delicious with a nice cup of fresh nespresso coffee. -

I booked a routine GP appointment on the NHS app this morning. Couldn’t have been easier. I don’t know whether all GPs allow booking appointments by the app but perhaps those who don’t should think again and provide the service for their patients. I know there are some who cannot or will not use an app and they should also be given fair consideration as well, but maybe allowing booking on the app would free up phone lines at the GP for those who need them. -

Thank you for providing your source, confirming that it is probably hearsay or opinion, and not a documented statement of fact from Carnival.- 136 replies

Is P&O becoming Carnival’s Budget Cruise Line?
pete14 replied to Tablelamp's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
To clear up any doubt Harry, can you please confirm that what you have posted as a question from a Cambridge International AS and A level travel and tourism (9395) examination is not a genuine one and it hasn’t appeared on any examination paper. Having skim read the syllabus on the link provided, as I noticed no mention of Carnival, P&O or any other cruise line, such a specific question would be invalid and certainly would not be used. In a general question, students may be expected to give examples they may have learned, but if there are no examples of specific companies specified in the syllabus, no specific companies will be highlighted in the question. -
Is P&O becoming Carnival’s Budget Cruise Line?

I suspect that is a made up statement designed to be considered in an examination. It is very common practice in setting examinations, used widely by teachers and examiners to prompt discussion, analysis and evaluation. Arguments for different points of view will be required in order to gain at least a reasonable mark. Personally, I think it is bit irresponsible and misleading but I think many on here could have a good go at it. -
Is P&O becoming Carnival’s Budget Cruise Line?
pete14 replied to Tablelamp's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
The header of this thread says that ‘ Carnival have decreed that P&O should be their budget cruise line’. This is not opinion, it is presented as a statement of fact. That is why I asked for the source of the information. If it is opinion, it should be presented as such, otherwise it is at best misleading and at worst a lie.- 136 replies

How easy is it to do the Flam railway on your own?
pete14 replied to Presto2's topic in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
If you have time, there is a micro brewery close to the station and the ship (depending on where the ship is parked). It is absolutely amazing inside although the beer is priced for Norway prices so you may not want to stay there for long. I am sure Mr Presto2 will take a keen interest. -

Lunar on the Wedgwood site near Barlaston. You need deep pockets but every once in a while we all deserve a treat. All crockery is Wedgwood and glasses are Waterford crystal.
