Several years ago we booked on one of the 'R' ships #6093 as a verandah cabin - when we boarded, it had been changed to a concierge. Oceania in it's wisdom had realised that the aft cabins were pretty special. We received the concierge benefits at the same booked (verandah) price. It fact we didnt realise it had changed until we received the extras - ironing vouchers and wine etc.

A couple of years ago we were meant to move to the cabin next door - staff told us not to bother, and they put the incoming guests into our 'new' room. Easy!

We are sailing from Singapore on the Nautica - very interested in hotel recommendations thanks. The Fullerton looks interesting - we generally look for smaller boutiquey type hotels, so any suggestions appreciated.

This year Oceania decided NOT to send us the Blue Book and luggage labels pre-cruise. Something to do with postage to Australia maybe? We were told that we could get handwritten tags at the port prior to boarding - but we preferred to take the bags from the hotel already with tags rather than muck around writing bag tags when we were ready and wanting to board. I would have been delighted to use Oceania tags if they could have gone to the trouble and expense of posting them to me. I did ask Oceania and the answer was "no".

That sounds pretty reasonable to me. Oceania has given you a FCC for their part of the cruise and you have readily accepted that the port fees etc are not going to to be included - ie something that they are actually out of pocket for. Likewise O will be out of pocket for their pre-paid tours etc. A good idea of yours though - with your next cruise booked with the FCC - not to book the pre/post tours etc if you are concerned about a similar thing happening again.

I have just been in this situation booking a cruise (that could have been my milestone) - Simply More is not included. You really need to discuss all options with your TA, or in my case, Oceania, directly to get the best outcome for yourself that O is agreeable to.

We changed cabins in Athens on a B2B on Vista. And had a full day tour in Athens. We liaised with our first cruise cabin staff about how to best manage it. What ended up happening was that the hanging things were taken to the new cabin on the same hangers for us. Everything else we just put in the suitcases - pulled stuff out of drawers and plopped it in the suitcases as it came out. (We had plenty of room to pack this way as the hanging things were out). The bathroom we did similarly. When we returned from the tour the suitcases were in the room, hanging things in the wardrobe & we just returned everything to the new drawers. We also asked friends to keep a bag of things in their safe for the day. Packing and unpacking turned out to be relatively quick and simple.

That is interesting - thank you. We have two longish cruises booked in 2025 (B2B) and were thinking of converting to Simply More. Australian cruisers don't have a choice about O-Life and for these specific cruises the Simply More - with basically an unchanged cruise price worked out to be the better deal. It's a definite 'wait and see' now, rather than change & a commitment so far in advance.

Good to see that you picked out Tina - whilst we were aboard Vista we used to look for her section in the GDR. She was such a pleasure to have serving us and she was so interested in what she saw as her career 👏👏

We had two different cabins on the Vista for our recent cruise/s. The first cabin - the mattress was very soft and there was no side support in it so that if you sat on the edge you could easily just slide off. Or worse - roll out whilst asleep! The mattress featured in our cruise comments because of this! Second cabin - the same old blissful Oceania mattress that we have previously had on all our cruises. A great relief. Maybe they are trialling mattresses - hard and soft vs the old O mattresses??

We found the food at Ember to be quite unexciting/dull and it was also very noisy - the ceiling panels bounced all the noise back down again. Tried it twice, then cancelled the third reservation - the Terrace was a much better option.

It was not the Head Housekeeper but a senior member of her staff. She said that Oceania will try to accommodate all requests, and generally manage to do so. At the moment they don't have additional furniture so are unable to provide these on request. She suggested the correct route would be to ask the Concierge whilst on board. My suggestion is that your TA formally request a lounger well in advance in the same manner that you request different soft drinks etc. Good luck - they are great! (hi Catherine! - last day today 🥲)

Aaah - but I don't see the point of receiving all that printed material and saving it up for an experiment or whatever - I don't get any of the brochures as I removed myself from the O mailing list years ago. With regards to the big souvenir booklet - Oceania says that they will email the digital version of the Your Voyage booklet, so they are collating it individually for me anyway - my preference is to have the souvenir hard copy to keep on the bookcase rather than as a file on my computer. Luggage tags - I'm very happy to use JoePBX's Different people, different ideas. Many thanks JoePDX - great tags!!

I have suggested both of these to O in my email. I actually would be very happy to receive the blue book/printed materials on the ship - and they could just post the luggage tags. I have a collection of Oceania cruise booklets - helps me remember the cruise, the ports, the crew etc etc - and I like having them!

I'm not sure if this applies to Australia only, but today I received emails from Oceania saying that the Cruise Vacation Guides will no longer be sent out due to a trebling in shipping costs. I have kept every blue book from every Oceania cruise and look back on them with pleasure. This (in my mind) is a cheap and tacky action by Oceania.
